I have got my own flat in the UK with live in carer's and because I have live in carer's and because they are from the Social services and I have to go on what they say about how I live plus a OT I can still wait bear but not with carers they have put me in a hoist but it makes going away nearing enough in possible but I can stand and walk with help from one person.
I have Athetoid Cerebral palsy, Dystonia, Epilepsy, Eating and drinking disorders, speach impediment, I have got a aac device but at the moment because of my disability I am unable to manage to use it,right hip and my shoulder come out regularly and sleep disorders and more

Welcome to the channel. I hear you. The disabled life is like no other. You are so welcome here. Having carers is hard. We want our space & independence. I wish the world was made to enable us with all the available technology. We deserve a good equal to normal people's lives. Access to all the same things. I'm so glad you are here Ashley 🤗 I'm doing great today. Thank you. I hope you are doing well too. I hope my channel can offer you things as I really love connecting through TH-cam to others like us. Lots of love Dy xxx ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I don’t have a disability but I found this informative but I do have one question as you know my friend is autistic (Aspergers ) but you don’t seem to associate with that word, Aspergers not trying to say anything just trying to learn as my friend uses three ways to describe herself Aspergers, high functioning autism and autistic depending who she is talking to or describing herself to someone, I know as I understand Autistic to me meaning Autism which is an umbrella term are the other terms she uses are under this term but at the higher end like level three, is this right or did I miss something, I know she is getting reassessed soon as she is needing more up to cope with things, so she needs to get reassessed as an adult which I don’t understand because what I know is that you can’t grow out of it, you can only learn have to cope better with it, but anyway have a good day

DSMV book is used by Psychiatrists & Clinical Psychologists. I'm not a professional so sorry I can't answer for your friend. It's all just under the umbrella all professionals refer to Autism Spectrum Disorder. I wish her well with getting a second diagnosis. In Australia it is asked for an adult re check of diagnosis but no I personally agree no one grows out of it. Just copes maybe more or different with different developmental phases of adult life. I'm sure they will know how to do this if you find a proper professional in the Autism area. Tony Attwood is a wonderful research & reference person if that helps. He is a Clinical Psychologist working in the field for an extremely long period of time. Levels many Autistics don't use or most very much dislike it & so do many professionals too. Hope that helps.
