      Since we are talking luxury, and from a certain perspective luxury is about making things effortless. Chances are that, when people hear Mercedes Benz, they will think of the S Class, and when they hear Range Rover, they will think of the Range Rover. Now, If I am asked about what car I drive by a group of people at my Michelin star restaurant and I say Mercedes Benz. A person may impulsively say "Ah! the S Class". Then I will have to say no it is the GLS and possibly explain more about the GLS. Which requires effort and creates a short awkward moment. However, if I say I am driving the Range Rover the discussion is shorter. A person in the group "Ah I see! the Range Rover" and my response "Yes"
      That said, I love both vehicles and much love to the people who carry out the work to create such SUVs

      @Dusu Anderson Lee BIG LIE. we actually had a GLS for a year or two, but we traded it in for a Range Rover sport because the GLS had too many electrical issues, they’re pretty shitty cars man… even the older ones were a lot worse.
      Range Rovers on the other hand are becoming more and more reliable to be honest with you, plus they literally have modified FORD ENGINES. So modern ranger rovers compared to the older ones are no more reliable than a Ford. Fords are solid vehicles.

    I have ordered the Range Rover Autobiography LBW 5 seater and have already test driven the car. This car is iconic and the design alone makes the GLS look so dated. The driving comfort is breathtaking!! 24:35 So the three row option is available on the short wheelbase Range Rover as well as the long wheelbase? Maybe he means there's more cargo room in the short wheelbase when folding down the second row (than in the long wheelbase when folding down the third). Or maybe not, because idk wtf they're doing; it's the first time they've ever done three rows (but only ever put the four seat configurations in the long ones). Also thought it was cool the Mercedes door closed electronically if that's what we actually saw.
    Very helpful review though. Have a 2019 autobiography that's been disappointing for way too much touchscreen and thinking about a GLS. I don't want three rows though and am not tryinna have to rock a Maybach to lose the back one. What would really differentiate that Maybach would be if they put the V12 in it (you know, for buyers who aren't tryinna rock a Bentley lol). The Bentayga (and to a lesser degree the Gelendawagen) are probably more directly comparable since Volkswagen knocked off the Land Rover terrain response for Bentley and the GWagen presumably also still has a more sophisticated suspension. Doubt recent models have lost their three locking diffs but IDK if any further refinement's been added to them either.

    Interior: Range Rover

    • @ak2pacalypse
      @ak2pacalypse ปีที่แล้ว

      I think they made the new GLS too soft and round on the exterior. =\ The range rover exterior just has an exterior presence that is unmatched. If anything, I think the build quality of the mercedes interior might be more solid although I do think the range rover seats are more comfortable and has a better seating position. I have a 2021 Range Rover SVA and I think due to all of the tech in the seats (rear executive seats, front and rear massage, heated, and ventilated seats) you do occasionally get some some subtle creaks if you are listening for them and only at low speeds and when the music is off). So just based on that I'm assuming that Mercedes might have Land Rover beat on build quality, but maybe there are people out there who have small noises in their Mercedes vehicles too.

    • @cthis4786
      @cthis4786 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ak2pacalypse The new Range Rover looks better in videos and pictures, but in real life it looks bloated. The previous Range Rover was much sleeker and better looking. I own a Mercedes W212 E550 for a decade now, zero squeaks and have zero issues with the original air suspension, maybe it is Made in Germany. Can't say the same for the Alabama-made GLS. Stupid people comment why I bought a smaller Mercedes sedan, when I could have gotten a GLE which is bigger. They think the bigger the better value, when the GLE is based off the Jeep Cherokee and is made in the states using inferior parts. My Mercedes has almost 100K miles and I have zero oil leaks, zero issues, all original parts except for the spark plugs and new tires which I replaced not too long ago.
      I'm thinking of getting the new Range Rover Sport with BMW V8 when it arrives, but I can't really justify the 30% price increase when you can get a Cayenne GTS for similar price.

The RR on the other hand is the epitome of class and modern luxury. That why I bought one! It’s leagues ahead of the Benz.

    OK, so I read a few of the comments however in my opinion the "Merc." is the clear winner eventhough the presenter tried very hard to swing the outcome. Is it just me, or did anyone else felt like at times the presenter was a bit bias in his choice of words at times? I do agree with all of what he said about the "Range" but he at times did try to down play the mercedes.
    1. "The Queen" uses the Range for the same reason the president of the USA uses a Cadillac. What do these two leaders have in common? Patriotism!
    2. Up the Merc to the correct package and then compare it and you will see the clear winner right from the start. As it is already you r getting more for less with the mercedes. and that's where every buyer will buy the mercedes and still have money to do just about anything else. Having said that, I do admire the Range but it comes second to the Mercedes. Road presence alone doesn't cut it.

    You can't take two different vehicles then say the Benz is better on price. You have to compare the Range Rover with a Bentley Bentayga or Rolls Cullinan, which are similarly priced cars. Besides, The off-raod capability and wading capacity of the Range Rover - roughly 1 meter deep of water, together with that interior, it wins hands down for me. The Benz doesn't have anywhere near the same off-road capability.
