Jota is a terrible shout. The only real issue is his injury record, but he is great when he is fit and has started both games for Liverpool this season. He has great relationships with the other forwards and I think he can be a really important player in Liverpool’s front line as it moves into its next generation.

I don't think Zac knows necessarily what overrated means. An overrated player is one who people think is better than he actually deserves to be considered based on his performances on the pitch. Instead, he listed players who were once thought to become world class, were bought bc of this but failed to make good on the expectation (Donnarumma, Pedro Porto, Havertz)

This is a very tricky category to judge - because you're not only judging the quality of the player, you're judging them relative to what people think about them - which is very hard to calibrate. One way I guess is to think about what players show well on tiktok clips, but not so good in a full game - or which players are under or overrated based on their stats.
He should be more mature and in his prime. He should have improved over the last few years to where he should be in his prime today, yet he’s scoring the same goals today in a much easier league to score on.

Robertson is worse defensively than Trent. He's defensive errors aren't as immediately apparent but are fundamentally more egregious in that they make everyone look worse. He breaks the defensively line too often for him to be underrated defensively. He's either running into midfield when he should hold his line or getting caught behind the rest of the defence. He's many things but underrated isn't one of them
Pedro Porro obviously looked bad in his first 6 months at spurs, everyone looked bad under conte except for Kane. He has looked exceptional in his last 2 games, often inverting into the midfield pretty much playing as a midfielder. And defensivley, the times he has been tested hasn't put a foot wrong. He will keep royal out of the side for most of the season, except maybe in the games we are looking for a more defensive option in royal. Fair enough romero has had a rocky time so far, but hes looked great next to VDV. All he needed was a adequate cb partner.

If Lautaro is overrated because he doesn't perform week in-week out then -Kvara (did nothing in the second part of the season) -Leao & Theo Hernandez (Super inconsistent) are all overrated? I don't think so. Calling Lautaro overrated was mainstream few years ago, but right now he's getting better even consistency-wise. His "Drought periods" are reducing in both size and frequency.

Jota is a diabolical shout. Yes he went basically a year without scoring but he was out injured for the majority of the games in that time frame. Missed most of last season through injury but when he was back up to full fitness and actually getting minutes regularly he got 10 G+A in his last 15 PL games averaging a goal involvement every 80 mins or so. Pretty sure the only players with a better goal involvement per min in that time frame were Salah and Haaland. Besides, no one is actually rating him high enough for him to be classed as overrated.
He is still right up in the top 3 I think with Theo Hernandex though, as there are no absolutely world beating LBs around - Davies 4 years ago was being crowned as the new best in the world, brilliant attacker - last 3 seasons, 2 goals and 9 assists in the Bundesliga in a ridiculously dominant side; Robbo, who has been "poorer" has 4 goals and 35 assists - I'll take that production over a marginally better defender. Last year, our midfield was *terrible* - Hendo running out of steam, Fab falling off a *cliff* in performances, having loads of injuries, so difficult to judge.
I know they kinda address this but donnarumma can only be considered overrated if the expectations for him are impossibly high. He's 24 years old he's got another 1.5 decades of football ahead including the entirety of his prime, he's made 350+ club apps at European powerhouses and had one of the best euro championship campaigns from goalkeepers ever already, people have just watched him for a while and think that means he has to have reached his full potential by now when that's just cos he started so young
I don't understand Havertz. He is currently not rated at all. If you compare him to where he was before he moved to Chelsea he is very overrated, but now very few rate him anymore. I would say he is very underrated beause he is a very talented player and I think he still can be very good in the right system and the right role.
He's still being carried in the league every season. At least 10 other keepers could have saves the same shots he did in the final. He's nothing special and he makes too many mistakes.

Donnarumma as a shout finally vindicates the view I've had since his Milan days, great keeper at times, horrible concentration. I think back to the Milan Manchester United clash in the Europa League, genuinely outstanding, then steps too far off of his line and gets lobbed with a header by Diallo, ultimately the goal that cost them the game. I wouldn't hold the Real Game against him too harshly, Alisson has had games like that, think City, but Donnarumma isn't good enough yet overall to justify giving up silly goals

Pedro porro over the last two games has put in 8/10s in each playing rb when he was brought in to play rwb. Last season under conte after about a month of bedding in was playing incredibly in the attacking half of the pitch and we were 4th in the league when conte was sacked. To put a young player who has had to move countries, switch positions, bed into the best league in the world, and switch from one of the most defensive coaches in the world to one of the most attacking and only require a few games to get to grips with it all as one of the worlds most overrated players is maybe the worst authentic shout I’ve ever heard.
As a Spurs fan I think I can safely say that the majority of the fanbase don't rate Richarlison. Not sure what was going through Levy's head when he signed off on that transfer. With Ndombele you could see the potential and logic behind the move. Richarlison, a striker who has only ever scored a max 15 goals in a single season, for 60M you start wondering if someone suffered a serious brain injury.

OK OK OK, you guys have it all mixed up with regards to Gio Reyna, so to put things in order: * Gio was nowhere to be found until late in the last games for the USNMT, everyone was wondering why ? * Berhalter (the coach), months after the world cup, talked at a conference about "a player" who was causing issues off the pitch. Everyone understood that it was Gio, but the squad in general were baffled because the coach had just revealed dressing room drama which was supposed to stay-in house. * Gio posted on his social media his version of the story: He was told by his coach that he would have a limited role in the squad. He got upset and "let his emotions get the best of him". He apologized for the whole issue and said wanted to move forward for both club and country. * A couple days later, Gio's mother would "take revenge" in true soccer mom fashion by revealing that story about Berhalter and his then-girlfriend... which turned out to be nothing serious. I wouldn't blame Gio for anything other than being a bit of a spoiled brat. He is good, but needs to be fit. His parents are what worry me more to be honest XD.
Honestly, the entire situation was handled super poorly by everyone involved outside of the statement gio put out after Gregg's speech about their problem player. Robertson is worse defensively than Trent. He's defensive errors aren't as immediately apparent but are fundamentally more egregious in that they make everyone look worse.
He breaks the defensively line too often for him to be underrated defensively. He's either running into midfield when he should hold his line or getting caught behind the rest of the defence. He's many things but underrated isn't one of them

Pedro Porro obviously looked bad in his first 6 months at spurs, everyone looked bad under conte except for Kane.
He has looked exceptional in his last 2 games, often inverting into the midfield pretty much playing as a midfielder. And defensivley, the times he has been tested hasn't put a foot wrong.
He will keep royal out of the side for most of the season, except maybe in the games we are looking for a more defensive option in royal.
Fair enough romero has had a rocky time so far, but hes looked great next to VDV. All he needed was a adequate cb partner.

Ramsdale is 100% overrated by deluded arsenal fans.
Jota is a diabolical shout. Yes he went basically a year without scoring but he was out injured for the majority of the games in that time frame. Missed most of last season through injury but when he was back up to full fitness and actually getting minutes regularly he got 10 G+A in his last 15 PL games averaging a goal involvement every 80 mins or so. Pretty sure the only players with a better goal involvement per min in that time frame were Salah and Haaland.
Besides, no one is actually rating him high enough for him to be classed as overrated.
Robbo isn’t overrated, he’s burnt out and I think most Liverpool fans acknowledge that he is not the top LB anymore.
He is still right up in the top 3 I think with Theo Hernandex though, as there are no absolutely world beating LBs around - Davies 4 years ago was being crowned as the new best in the world, brilliant attacker - last 3 seasons, 2 goals and 9 assists in the Bundesliga in a ridiculously dominant side; Robbo, who has been "poorer" has 4 goals and 35 assists - I'll take that production over a marginally better defender. Last year, our midfield was *terrible* - Hendo running out of steam, Fab falling off a *cliff* in performances, having loads of injuries, so difficult to judge.
He's about fairly rated, some criticism goes overboard, but there are a lot of people who refuse to acknowledge his deficiencies
I know they kinda address this but donnarumma can only be considered overrated if the expectations for him are impossibly high. He's 24 years old he's got another 1.5 decades of football ahead including the entirety of his prime, he's made 350+ club apps at European powerhouses and had one of the best euro championship campaigns from goalkeepers ever already, people have just watched him for a while and think that means he has to have reached his full potential by now when that's just cos he started so young

Donnarumma as a shout finally vindicates the view I've had since his Milan days, great keeper at times, horrible concentration. I think back to the Milan Manchester United clash in the Europa League, genuinely outstanding, then steps too far off of his line and gets lobbed with a header by Diallo, ultimately the goal that cost them the game. I wouldn't hold the Real Game against him too harshly, Alisson has had games like that, think City, but Donnarumma isn't good enough yet overall to justify giving up silly goals

Pedro porro over the last two games has put in 8/10s in each playing rb when he was brought in to play rwb. Last season under conte after about a month of bedding in was playing incredibly in the attacking half of the pitch and we were 4th in the league when conte was sacked. To put a young player who has had to move countries, switch positions, bed into the best league in the world, and switch from one of the most defensive coaches in the world to one of the most attacking and only require a few games to get to grips with it all as one of the worlds most overrated players is maybe the worst authentic shout I’ve ever heard.
As a Spurs fan I think I can safely say that the majority of the fanbase don't rate Richarlison. Not sure what was going through Levy's head when he signed off on that transfer. With Ndombele you could see the potential and logic behind the move. Richarlison, a striker who has only ever scored a max 15 goals in a single season, for 60M you start wondering if someone suffered a serious brain injury.

Was repeatedly praised for his attitude and contribution by coaches and given absolute pelters by spurs fans, to the point where he temporarily deleted his social media following the 2-3 loss at home to Bournemouth. He is the clear number 1 for ange and has looked far better defensively this time (not saying much).

OK OK OK, you guys have it all mixed up with regards to Gio Reyna, so to put things in order:
* Gio was nowhere to be found until late in the last games for the USNMT, everyone was wondering why ?
* Berhalter (the coach), months after the world cup, talked at a conference about "a player" who was causing issues off the pitch. Everyone understood that it was Gio, but the squad in general were baffled because the coach had just revealed dressing room drama which was supposed to stay-in house.
* Gio posted on his social media his version of the story: He was told by his coach that he would have a limited role in the squad. He got upset and "let his emotions get the best of him". He apologized for the whole issue and said wanted to move forward for both club and country.
* A couple days later, Gio's mother would "take revenge" in true soccer mom fashion by revealing that story about Berhalter and his then-girlfriend... which turned out to be nothing serious.
I wouldn't blame Gio for anything other than being a bit of a spoiled brat. He is good, but needs to be fit. His parents are what worry me more to be honest XD.

I think you can only call a player overrated based on their current "stock" relative to their ability. The fact he has gone to Aston Villa shows the big clubs don't rate him enough currently to buy him.
