Tears of joy after the Brest match. 20 years ago, we were rediscovering professional soccer. 10 years ago, we were emerging from a crisis, almost vegetating, and today we're here. We've already won a match, we've got nothing to lose now. Brest will continue to play its game, to be daring, to take its chances. We already have the best UCL record of any Breton club, and now there's 0 stress. Brest da Viken!
Still no Shamrock Rovers mention so welcome to The Rovers Round up where l deliver the news of Irelands biggest football club. Shamrock rovers have seen a positive turn of form by beating Galway United 2-1 away with Cult Hero Marc McNulty bagging his first goal for the club in the 1st half. Not long after Galway equalised with a penalty but the game ended in a Rovers win as Former celtic man Johnny Kenny chipped it over the keeper late game. A derby match occured on Friday night that was an uphill battle as rovers had Derry away but Rovers dominated the game and drew 1-1 After being 1-0 up the whole game conceding a 92nd minute penalty. There is now hope for a underdog late title push as European Football Qualification looks more and more likely. Rovers will face 2 fierce rivals this week and i will inform you all how it goes. See you all next FTW until FNG mentions Shamrock Rovers 👍
I've never heard about the "Pekan Olahraga Nasional" or PON, regarding the clip you posted in the intro (where an Indonesian footballer is trying to replicate the same Pratama Arhan's throw in, only to fail). If you didn't know about this thing, it's basically an Indonesian version of the Olympics, but with the unique traits. While the typical Olympics traditionally involved multiple countries around the world (or countries in particular regions for the case of Asian Games or Pan American Games), PON, in reality, involves all of the provinces in Indonesia (more equivalent to the U.S. States or Russian Oblasts). Just like the Euro and the regular Olympics, PON is usually held every 4 years during the leap year in recent times, with this year's being held in two provinces (Aceh and North Sumatra). The football tournament in PON mainly consisted of an inexperienced footballers, some of them being an amateurs. This year's PON, IMO, was absolutely disappointing, even worse than the Paris Olympics. One of the biggest issues was the infrastructures. There were so many sport venues used in PON across Aceh and North Sumatra being unfinished or met with the poor conditions, most notably the leakage roof during rainy conditions (very similar to the Old Trafford). It appears that the development of sport venues used for this year's PON was extremely slow due to the time constraints, IIRC. Controversies surrounding this game also intensified, especially the football. During the men's quarterfinal football game between the host Aceh and Central Sulawesi, the referee was brutally injured after the latter's footballer (can't remember the name) suckerpunched him. The referee had previously sent 3 Sulawesi players off with red card, all of them were deemed controversial. When the game had to be settled by extra time (right after the host had the penalty being saved in the dying minutes of the normal time), the Sulawesi team walked out of the pitch in protest and the game eventually abandoned in favor of Aceh. The incident immediately sparked an extremely harsh condemnations by local officials, especially the Indonesian FA (PSSI) chairman Erick Thohir, with him calling for a severe sanctions on the referee following an alleged match fixing (although the investigation regarding this matter is still currently ongoing). I'm very shocked to see why the Indonesian Football is still going like this (much like Turkish Football, when there was a similar incident as the referee got suckerpunched by the club president), even though our national team had some good results (we drew twice in the World Cup qualifiers vs Saudi Arabia & Australia). Such an incident like that one really violates the spirit of the game and must be stopped. Sorry for my long comment (and I'm from Indonesian). I didn't mention PON at all, only football games in this case, which is why I mentioned it (due to the intro featuring a particular neat throw in clip from that game). Also, you missed these things in this video: 1.Barcelona's shock defeat vs Monaco (the game where Ter Stegen made 2 big mistakes). 2.RIP Toto Schillaci. Everyone living in 2024 must remember this Italian footballer who made a surprising run in the 1990 World Cup 😢
Side Note: That game was actually the football tournament of Indonesian National Olympic Games (commonly known as "Pekan Olahraga Nasional" or PON). And Niran didn't even mention the segment where the Indonesian referee got sucker punched in a similar way to what the Turkish referee did not long before.
the problem with wages in women's football is that the men are overpaid. Wages and transfer fees have been inflated since Naymar joined PSG. A mid-range player in a club fighting to stay in the league (in a less popular league), earns huge amounts of money, unattainable for the average citizen of a given country, which often results in clubs being in debt and unable to pay wages.
Bloody niran. You didn’t acknowledge Monaco beating Barcelona this week mate. They making Barca look like a washed version of Man United (current form)
I genuinely think Niran doesn’t like the mls, there was a long range goal from Anderson Julio from Real Salt Lake roughly at midfield and went in, and it wasn’t included in the goals of the week 😢
Please make a full video on Rodri recent comments about players being overplayed and getting little rest off-season compared to others like MLS NBA NFL etc.
I love how people say it's just Barnsley but they've literally beaten Liverpool twice out of three times in their history, like I get it their a small club that's not very good but the games the game
