    I am actually thinking about upgrading my BS6 and I see that you're very knowledgeable. Would you say that the £1000 pounds for powertronic, free flow filter and exhaust, chain and sprocket upgrade is worth it? Is there a big difference with cruising speed/acceleration/fuel consumption? Thank you so much for the videos, I've learned so much!

    • @ONTWOWHEELSBEN
      @ONTWOWHEELSBEN  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      yes together they account for faster acceleration, better throttle response and higher cruising speeds. and if you get the tuning right ( depending on how invested you are in the process) you are looking at an additional power gains of 3-5 bhp.

    I'm interested in the new Scram 411 (which I'm guessing has an identical oil change procedure) and I stumbled across this video... Can I just compliment you on this excellent production? The care with which you clean and check the O rings and gaskets reinforces my belief that a bike that is so well cared for always looks after its owner! Obviously liked and subscribed :)

    • @ONTWOWHEELSBEN
      @ONTWOWHEELSBEN  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the kind words Nick . Glad that you noticed the details . And yes the oil change procedure is identical on both , in fact the engines have no mechanical components changed in the new scram.

    • @CharlesHuse

      A trick to consider on your o-rings... on older automatic transmissions on cars, I have heard to put a little bit of brake fluid into the transmission fluid. As it circulates, it will get on to all the o-rings. The rubber in the o-rings will absorb it and swell slightly and reseal whatever they are meant to seal. It does not take much, a couple of capfuls into your fluid reservoir, and it will eventually dilute into the transmission fluid.
      For the purposes of this video, just take a couple of drops on your finger and wet the o-ring seals while you are draining the oil from the engine.
      Also, while you are running the engine to warm the oil prior to changing it, that is a good time to clean and lube your chain.

    Hello Ben, a quick question, last time I filled up Shell Fully Synthetic oil from Shell petrol pump they filled in 2.2ltr Oil (I know >2ltr for sure), is there any downside because they filled in so much? I didn't notice any, but I may be ignorant.
    I ofcourse hadn't come across this video, now that I have, I will use Motul 5100, 15w50, please suggest on above question.

    Thanks for another great video Ben 😁
    I have a query which is half off topic of this, regarding engine flush. I am planning to flush my bike once it reaches 30K KMs. My concern is the sump is 2.3 liter and the drain amount is less so around 500 ml is still in there so the flush mixed oil will be there even after draining. How to deal with it ? Or to run cheap 15W50 for 10-15 mins drain it n put the oil we want ?
    One more request will you make a list of tools with sizes needed for Himalayan or you can make a seperate video for that as per your time.

    Thorough and well paced, this is the best Himalayan oil change "how to" on YT.
    At first I wondered about you not changing the o-rings, gasket, and crush washer then you mentioned how availability is an issue. Going over how to evaluate and maintain them when you can't replace them is an important point that is usually not covered.
    Lastly, covering the amount of oil consumption is immensely helpful and, again, not usually covered. Thanks so much for this excellent tutorial.

I just did my first oil change and noticed that my oil filter cap does not have a rubber o-ring, but just the gasket... it has a grove for an o-ring but none was in there. Mike K sure mike every rich man / brand / corporate in India is atleast 10 times richer than their contemporaries in the west . These guys don’t have far sight and don’t understand the importance of service . but the irony is they never get to learn their lessons from their mistakes. Too many of us ( and too many in the making ) at any given time would love to buy into their products and keep buying . Perks of establishing a brand in a country like India. 80 dollars / month as wages to someone who puts your engine together is by no means fair and no body can complain . millions waiting to grab the job .

    Hello Ben just came across your channel I've had several bike's through out my life but have been away from riding for around 10 years I've been looking into the history of Royal Enfield and the very possessive reviews in India and here in the US on the Himalayan and have decided that it's the next new bike for me it hit's all the requirements I'm looking for and has a wonderful look to boot, I didn't think there was someone out there that was as meticulous as I am when it come's performing maintenance on motorcycles and/or vehicles but you proved me wrong Great video and I just subscribed :) The new 2021 Himalayan's are trickling into the dealers here in the Us and am heading down in the next couple days to put my deposit down to secure one before there gone again, looking forward to future videos be safe and take care

    Bhai, alternatively you can also remove spark plug and crank the engine 3-4 seconds by pressing power button for 3-4 times. Don't over do it ... Surely some 50ml oil will come out .

    • @ONTWOWHEELSBEN
      @ONTWOWHEELSBEN  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      sorry to disagree dear Shishupal , but one should never remove the spark plug and crank without first CLEANING THE ENTIRE AREA THOROUGHLY. The inward suction of air will pull in all the dirt in the plug well into the combustion chamber . this is not a recommended practice (especially in an offload used machine) .

    • @0xsergy
      @0xsergy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not worth doing bearing damage for 50ml. Just put fresh fluid, you'll never drain everything anyway. At most tip it on center stand as far as you can hold it.
