The hourly minimum wage may sound good but in reality cost of living, especially rent in major cities will shock you. Even if you get sufficient working hours, it will be tough.

Good, that'll help fund some more housing swallowed by mass migration
If I am not wrong, the age limit for graduate studetns visa was 35 for a better permanent visa application long time ago, as over 35, the applicant lost some much points. Hence, for students, they had to apply before turning tha age.
However, a lot of temporary migrants kept hopping back to student visas (non-genuine students) to prolong their stay even though they were working full time (illegal on a student visa). A lot of dodgy providers in the VET sector had such arrangements.
Hhhmm.... Not any info on studying, lots on working in Australia. This is a problem for this country. Ppl aren't here for study. They are here for getting cash. That's why we need crackdowns. There's a lot more coming too.

You'll find most of us Australians are against international students working. Sorry to break it to you but that's the truth. We want to make money off you and you should have enough savings to sustain a stay in Australia without working, it's literally part of the visa conditions to have a big lump sum saved.
It's also why reports into student quality has shown since the Indian demograph has overtaken the Chinese demograph, the quality of international students has crashed because the Indian demograph's focus is generally not on studying, it's to get a job. These reports on quality of students are all online. It looks very bad for Indian students compared to Chinese, European and American students. Very bad.

I have an International student staying in my sharehouse. He attends some Uni (ha,ha) I have never heard of and is studying IT Networking and wants to get PR. He has zero interest in working in that area. The Uni is owned and run by Indians with not one westerner there. The teaching style and treatment of students is appalling but they suck it up in hope to graduate and get PR somehow. He said vast majority of his classmates had same plan. Don't need to be a Rocket Scientist. 🙄

I submitted my visa application last week Sunday, i am from Nigeria planning 5o start my masters in curtin university, my school is resuming 15th of July, hopefully i get my visa before resumption date

Does anyone have any idea about the success rate of RMIT uni for visa subclass -500... If a student has lodged the visa file on 26 june with 8 bands in IELTS, course applied - MS - data science, B tech - from NIT raipur with 8.5 cgpa , in 10&12 above 95 percent, funds 40 lakhs after paying sem-1 fees, no gap

I lodged my file on 3rd of May for Victoria University Sydney Campus with 17 lakhs itr and 40 lakhs old funds my intake is 29 july 2024 still waiting for my visa to be granted. It has been already 59 days now . When can I expect my visa?
It might take more time, as I received my visa after 65 days just 15 days before my university was about to start, so basically if they wanted to reject your visa they would have did it long ago, so they gave visa this late sometimes, because they might not want students to travel way ago before their university starts.

First of all, the visa fee increase is very low. It should have been 6,000 AU Dollars. Appeal rejection of student visa should be 20,000, this to align with inflation. Students have a lot of money in invest in Australia, the government is so stupid not to milk more funds of the desperate so called students who are just seeking to gain entry into Australia and never to leave. We have the worst housing crisis because of these so called unscrupulous people entered the country lying their way through the immigration system. 36,000 pretending to be visitors and never left Australia.
