  • Storytime: The Stalker Who Came to My House...& was ARRESTED. If you've been watching my snaps, you know a little about this. I'm sharing the full story now. The reason why I am telling this story is to share how I handled the situation and myself and to speak up about important issues like this that need to be discussed. It's ok to have boundaries. It's ok to forgive. It's ok to keep living your life in love and not fear. I hope this video inspires and empowers all individuals and women to speak up with it's important and to express themselves. It's not about guilt or shame; there is strength and courage found in vulnerability. I pray for your support in this video.

    Why are there so many people bashing her? It does matter whether the man is mental illness, you don't come to someone's house, and physically place your hands on someone. As far as a mental illness alot of murderers are mentally ill. So why bash a distressed woman and sympathize a man who is constantly bothering a woman?

      I think there's a lot of concern as to what she said after 15:15. It's coming across as criticism when it's really just ppl concerned. To hear her say she's happy she "inspired" someone she called the cops on is incredibly disconcerting and very unsafe for her to say.

      This man does not belong in a prison, he belongs in a mental hospital. Kristina, I don't think he wanted to hurt you, he probably honestly believes you two are in a relationship. In your video you seem to blame this man for an illness which is obviously not his fault. Of course your safety should always come first, but please have some compassion.

I hate to scare you but just look what just happened to "Christine Grimme" and so many others. With these sick people you never know which ones are gonna do what? Just don't take safety for granted. I love that she's so open, such an amazing change in a world of guarded people. And her clothes are not revealing, these are just summer clothes! We should stop being embarrassed by our bodies and shame those who accept theirs.

    • @melodymoon.
      @melodymoon. 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course we all have different standards and that's okay. Differences is what makes this world beautiful and exciting. I don't believe we should be ashamed of our bodies in any way, sppecially in 35 degrees heat! :) Considering anybody else's appearances is judgemental and I refuse to participate in such criticism. But I also understand that our society teaches us that criticism towards others and ourselves is a basic norm, so I'm not holding it against you. Loads of blessings to you!

    This isn't about him, guys. This is about spreading *awareness* so other people think before making the mistakes SHE made by not setting personal boundaries for *SAFTEY*. This is NOT about him.
    Also, get a grip people, no human is perfect. To say that she was "wrong" to put him in jail is ridiculous. She is HUMAN. HOW can you expect her to make the PERFECT decision/ choice with EVERY circumstance/ situation in life? How?
    Not all answers are clear. How about YOU be put in that situation and we'll see how easily you'll be inclined to make the "perfect" decision by putting him through psychiatric help, etc.
    Ugh, some people are just hypocrites. Again, how are you going to expect a human being to be perfect 100% of the time in the choices they make?
    Bless you, Kristina, for being brave and sharing this with us to promote healthy boundaries and safety. And thank you for doing the best that you could when resolving the situation and made the choice you did while ALSO dealing with FEAR for the situation you were in.
    You only did what you could in the moment. We are ALL works in progress! People are so blind to even understand THEY are too!

    A few months back I was in a mall and felt like one of my kids and I were being followed. I looked behind me and someone in a dark hood with a pale face was walking quickly up behind me. I walked faster and so did he. I realized I was about to go near a few exits (which I did NOT want). Quickly I crossed over to "oncoming walkers" and he followed me. I went to a bench with my child because they'd been riding piggyback style and I was afraid of them being torn off my back and taken. As he watched me from the corner of his eye, I hastily slid my child to the bench, whirled around and grabbed them to my chest, and took off running toward the center of the mall where it was highly populated. Within 15 seconds my husband met me and I quickly told him what was happening. When this man saw I wasn't alone he was startled for a moment, recovered, and then walked right past us as if nothing had happened. Instantly we contacted Mall security and we chose to stay and help point this man out. He was hiding in one of the stores and saw the guards but pretended to stay busy on his phone. So we all appeared "distracted" and looked the other way. That's when he tried to get past us. Luckily the guards stopped him. He apologized and claimed he wasn't following me on purpose and that he'd been on his phone the whole time. That was a lie. Then he began speaking gibberish (could be faked insanity or not - doesn't matter). The mall guards confirmed he'd been stalking me - but I had caught it within seconds. I am so glad I followed up on my instincts as soon as I felt something was not right. It wasn't just my safety at risk (which is bad enough) but that of my innocent child. Mentally ill people who chose to stalk or abduct do HORRIBLE things to their victims. It is okay to forgive but never forget and NEVER condone or enable their behaviors.
    I am glad you finally did something about your situation Kristina. You loved and respected yourself to say "enough is enough" and let your NO mean NO. I know this video is like a year old now - but figured I'd share my recent terrifying experience and show you support too.

  • @lisal5693
    @lisal5693 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    THANK YOU for sharing this experience, even though its difficult to talk about. But that's exactly why many victims don't speak out and get help. Our society still tries to blame victims of stalking, abuse, violence, etc. You have set a great example that its healing to tell others about whats going on and to seek the right help. Keep being your wonderful, awesome, inspiring self!!!!!

    It really amazes me the number of people in this day and age who are siding with this stalker. YOU don't know the situation. YOU weren't there. I don't care if they are sick, injured, mentally unstable, "crazy", or anything if you climb my fence and go to my house uninvited and act like you're in a relationship with me with COMPLETE AND UTTER DISREGARD for my family, my space, my privacy...I'm calling the cops. his mental issues are NOT her problem. They are his problems and will be dealt with accordingly. She made the right decision here for her own protection. He completely crossed multiple boundaries finding where she lived...sending those letters...unacceptable. I'll go to the ends of the earth to protect my family. Safety must be a PRIORITY when you have an online following. Kristina, you made EVERY RIGHT DECISION. Disregard anyone that says otherwise.

    I think it's great that you are sharing this with others. So many people are afraid to step up for themselves, especially domestic abuse victims, because they often love and "protect" the abuser. But it still comes to keeping yourself safe. I hope you can inspire others with this story to step up against their abusers. It's sad and disturbing that so many different mental illnesses exist and we can do nothing to help a certain person recover. Stay strong and I hope that you or anyone else who's reading this will never encounter anything like this ever again.

    Oh Kristina, I'm so sorry to here what happened to you, I perfectly know how it feels to be stalked for years. I have been stalked by an ex boyfriend for 4 years (I loved this person and then lost respect for him) and the emotions I had to go through made me fisically sick. But how you said we have to learn to love from a distance and have hope for these people and their future. I really hope that in the future people will understand that to love is to let someone be. If you respect and love someone you will let them live within their boundries. Lots of hugs! Keep on beeing the strong woman you allready are.

      I am not ignorant to the facts, but I am saying we can have some hope. Please don't judge me as being naive because you don't know what I have been though myself. I have seen one person actually get the help they needed. Their family had no clue they were unstable like they were, and when they were notified they were proactive. I hope for proactive and positivity. We don't know the rest of his story. I am not saying to let your guard down I am saying for her mental state sake that she needs to look at it as if she did good. So back off of my case.

    Speaking from experience, this person is most likely schizophrenic. While rarely violent, it is a mental illness that is just that - an illness. Schizophrenics would not willing choose their life had they the full capacity to do so. However - I’d recommend moving to a safer home and know that the law only has so much control over someone who’s mind isn’t like yours or mine. Take care and thanks for sharing your story.

    I hesitated posting a comment because I didn't want to seem like I'm shaming you for speaking your truth. You're right, it was not your fault and you shouldn't feel guilty. But I also wish that we could address these situations in a different way. I obviously don't know the stalker and this has never happened to me, but by what you were saying, it sounds like the man had some mental/spiritual issues going on. It sadness me that our only option and reaction to these situations is jail. I wish we had a different alternative because I work for a law firm and I've seen what a criminal record can do to a person that is not mentally healthy. It completely destroys their life. Society shames them for being "crazy", but we don't actually acknowledge that these people aren't criminals, they genuinely need help and support, not to be jailed. I don't know what I would've done in your situation, but all of this makes me sad that we live in a world where our options are limited to jail.

      I get your point completely. He wasn't trying to kill her and clearly had a fantasy life built up in his mind. Part of him seemed to believe they really were in love. He needs help and a diagnosis not jail time. He'll only do this to someone else if he doesn't get help. Based on the things he did at the co-op with the flower petals and washing himself, he seems to be genuinely ill and not someone who's aware of their actions. It is messed up that mental health isn't taken seriously in this country.

    • @tamcon72
      @tamcon72 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      His arrest will require an assessment that will allow him to get psychological intervention through the criminal justice system. The real shame is that in this country many, many people don't get mental health intervention _before_ they commit a criminal act, because it isn't available. Thanks, Reagan!

    • @xosecox12
      @xosecox12 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      tamcon72 Yup and the biggest reason why is lack of resources. I have PTSD and wasn't able to find a therapist who had time to meet with me for years. I e-mailed and called everybody and they were always booked. I finally found someone but she's expensive and my insurance doesn't cover much for it. My insurance will let me get a free pair of eye glasses but won't pay for me to receive treatment for a serious mental disorder. It's such a huge problem. Everyone is quick to say "Get help" but no one realizes that it's really not that easy to find a therapist who has time for you or that you can afford. It's not like finding a dentist.
