Thanks again Kristina my daughter and I decided to give this a try. I'm a nurse and witnessed first hand a woman who almost lost her life due to an infection she received from shaving. I love the results from sugar waxing.
i think it's important to add that nobody needs to shave or wax body hair if they don't want too. body hair is completely natural and okay!!

We're all human and are not perfect, but she dedicates her entire life to natural living and body positivity, yet she still sees female body hair as something to be embarrassed of.
My mom was born in Libya and that's one of my childhood memories.. her sugaring herself with Halwaa. I myself did not learn the tradition yet, but I am waxing. I'ts so worth it long term not to shave. This video made me want to tell my mom that next time we meet I want her to teach me how to do the Halwaa.

Actually you should apply it in the direction it grows and then hold the skin taught, and then remove in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION.
quinna I'm speaking only for the hard wax/ paste (the method used without the cloth). You remove in the direction of growth to prevent ingrown hairs. I sugar my own armpits and legs, and go to professionals if I don't feel like doing it myself. They all do and say the same thing: apply in the opposite direction of growth, pull in the same direction. Now, if you are using soft wax with a strip of cloth, you do the opposite (apply in same direction, remove in opposite). I don't use this method, and neither does the sugaring place I go to, but some people that don't have the flicking motion down tend to use the strip method
i prefer hairless pits... but lets get this straight. attractiveness is up to each and every person's subjectivity and highly influenced by culture. women who do bear hair, you go! it's not hideous. it's not repulsive. take a women's study course if you think otherwise.

Yes, sugaring is a Middle Eastern thing. There is a cute movie called Caramel, which is about a woman who works in a beauty salon using this technique. It was actually available on Netflix awhile back.
I think removing the hair from certain parts of the body is a very good way to feel comfortable, not just because of the focus of "beauty" but living in a place with high temperatures such as where I live, removing the hair from the armpits makes your feel fresh and not uncomfortable, feeling them hairs sticky on your skin. I remove the hair on my legs less than my armpits, but that's about it. But frankly last month I wanted to try removing the hair on the V area, and it felt better there! Less sticky and sweaty. I felt very comfortable with my cotton panties, like it aired better, if ya' know what am sayin' LOL ...Anyway +FullyRawKristina don't listen to those haters that don't understand your reasons for choosing as a grown up to keep removing your hair, who cares if it's for beauty or just feeling comfortable, it's been your choice for a very long time. I bet you must feel the comfort of removing them on that hot climate of Texas. Stay strong beautiful!

I've been waxing/sugaring for 6 years now, and tbh I haven't noticed any difference in my hair. Just so you guys know that your hair isn't going to magically dissapear or get less by the time. And my hair grows back within 3 weeks

There's nothing more attractive than beautiful hairless skin? There's nothing more attractive than a woman doing whatever the hell she wants to do with her body. If she would like to grow out her armpit hair for whatever reason, maybe she just wants to be natural and unaltered, as we are supposed to have hair on our bodies. Male or female it's natural and whether someone wants o shave or not we are all still beautiful. I don't like that most of the time we shine a light on one form of beauty.. And I know that Christina was not shaming anyone or implying anything, just felt that this needed I be said. This was a very interesting video, I might try this something 😁

am I the only one shocked at the fact that a 9 year old was forced to wax her body?! that can't have been pleasant for a young child. Parents, please don't encourage society's ideals in your child by making them wax, straighten/relax their hair, wear makeup etc. Let them be natural as long as they can :(

I don't know if forced is necessarily the best word choice, but I still think it's sad that a 9 year old is strongly encouraged to remove their hair etc and taught that their natural body isn't beautiful just as it is. I'm sure her family were coming from a good place (just like they were when they encouraged her to eat the way they do), but I think we should all be supportive and encouraging of a person's natural body.

Probably because her "sunscreen" is coconut oil. (Spf 4-8 I believe? And that's in vitro. In real life we sweat it off and it rubs off on clothes, causing it to be even lower spf in reality.)

I don't shave my armpits and they are nice and hairy, but not too crazy. I don't use deodorant either - I use a salt crystal & i found I actually have such a pleasant sweet cinnamon-like natural smell!! I love how everyone is different. I've tried shaving, sugaring, soft wax, and hard wax on my arm pits and in my experience, hard wax works the best. When I had my arm pits sugared my skin was sore, red and bruised for days afterwards and it didn't even get all of the hair, a lot had to be tweezed afterwards. It was also quite painful. I didn't have any of these problems with hard wax.
Who every put that wax on you, you should go back and beat her ass cos your not suppose to look like/feel like that afterwards. She probably double dips and gave you a little infection.

I love sugaring! You can use it anywhere where you want to get rid of unwanted hair (upper lip as well). However, if your complexion is darker, you DO NOT want a dark sugar, you want it to be lighter because the darker the sugar the hotter it will be and by the time it cools, it will not work. Darker skin needs a lighter sugar, so don't cook it as long and take it off the stove when it's light brown (like a new, shiny, penny) and pour it into a Mason jar. If you like using the wax/muslin strips instead of using a sugar/wax ball, then use less sugar:
Use this recipe when using wax/muslin strips:
1 Cup of Sugar
1/4 Cup of Lemon
1/4 Cup of Water
Bring to a boil and stir until it begins to turn light brown. Once it's a walnut brown color, take off the stove and place into a Mason jar so it can cool. If the sugar runs off the knife or wax stick too fast, it's too hot. Make sure your skin is clean and free of oil or residue and place the sugar on nice and smooth. Place the muslin strip over it and rub it on top of the sugar and then pull off really quick. This works great for me and I've been doing it for years. :)

People in the comments are acting like little girls dont get pretty harshly bullied for having body hair. Theyre also acting like society is open to a woman walking around with hairy armpits. Yes, "forcibly" waxing a child is really bad and outrageous, but has anyone thought about maybe why her mom and grandma did it? She's Middle Eastern and Latina and due to her ethnicity I'm going to assume she was relatively hairy as a child. Maybe her mom knew that she could get bullied for her body hair and was waxing her in attempt to spare her from that. No, I don't believe a woman's body hair is a bad thing, but unfortunately society does!

we use a cloth or a waxing strip to pull off the wax from the skin.. n the wax is in liquid state while we use it.
shud be done properly cuz it might burn ur skin or u might bleed if u pull too hard or in a wrong way

If you only read the title, you WOULD assume that she doesn't shave at all, which, though there is nothing wrong with it, is not the norm in society. We do that in Brazil a lot... it’s super easy but it can burn. Brazilian people that likes to save money make it at home with sugar and lemon. (Make sure you use a pot you don’t like bc it’s messy!) You can’t wait until it’s cool or it won’t work lol

no it isn't. at 9 my mom had to deal with a period every month learning to groom yourself is a mild task. and really they helped her with it so it's not like they made her boil sugar at 9. ffs 😑
No it's not. Girls start getting hair at that age especially with her being Ecuadorian and Lebanese. And some girls even get their period at that age.

About how long does it take to cool to the appropriate temp? Once you apply it to the hair, do you wait for any length of time? Very funny at 8:01.While on personal hygiene/aesthetics, I've often wondered which make-up brands you use. I've tried some, but still not fully satisfied with the results. There's nothing to be embarrassed about. Body hair is a completely natural thing to have. What you do with it is your choice, but I don't think it should be embarrassing if you decide to grow it out.

I am really upset and disgusted. they tied the pig up, smashed his head with a sledgehammer, and then started cutting him up. he hadn't died when they hit him with the hammer, but they still kept cutting him. another video was someone skinning a living baby sheep. it was the most horrific thing ever. I need to get this off my chest. I am furious

Add together, put on high about 15 minutes until boiling, wait until its brown. Then pour into jar, let it cool for about 20-30 minutes

Because it doesnt work properly. It is sticky but not enough to pull off all the hair. You have to repeat this a million times. Not worth it.
She didn't show because it didn't work. They left the sugar for way too long and it wasn't sticky enough

But I made the mistake of reading comments; how depressing that everyone has to judge and be "offended" by every little thing! This country and most of the world has become a moral and psychological cesspool over the last 50 years.
