I do a cold start yogurt in the instant pot. Last time I made yogurt, I used some coconut condensed milk for a lil added sweetness & added coconut extract for an extra boost of coconut flavor. Nice vidoe
I just usually make the yogurt straight in the jars so it saves me a step of spooning it into jars. I just put the jars in the instant pot and the put the jars in the fridge. No mess.
The first batch I tried with gelatin turned out great. I tried making a second batch with agar agar to share with a colleague that does not eat meat and that one didn’t set up as well. The flavor was good but it was as thick and creamy. It might have been the coconut milk I used too because it was a different brand. That batch will be used for smoothies and curries. 😄
Thanks for your awesome review and love your family! Please help me with understanding how you used agar agar? What was the measurements for agar and water ratio for this recipe? Also, if I only used one can of milk (I don't have a large family, it's just my son and I), how much agar and water do I use? Thanks in advance! Can't wait to try!
Hi, I’m so sorry I’m just seeing your comment. 😬 the information I read about agar agar was to use 1/2 teaspoon per cup of milk. That would be about 1 teaspoon for two cups, which is 16 oz. most coconut milk cans are around 14-16 ounces. Hope that helps.
Luv your family! So you used the agar agar in addition to pectin that comes with kit? Have you ever made it without heating to certain temperature first?
I’m sorry I’m just seeing this. Still learning the TH-cam platform. Yes I use agar agar. I only used this method. Do you know of a good no heat recipe.
Trying to make this now and it would have been REALLY helpful if you showed the consistency of the yogurt as you were putting it in the jar. On to a different video
you can. we chose to use agar agar because it is a vegan alternative to gelatin powder. i've seen lots of recipes that use gelatin. let me know how it turns out.
To the best mom, thanks for the coconut inspiration! I just made my first batch of soy yogurt yesterday, and it came out great.
I'm sorry but your face when you dropped the ladle was everything and Jessy was having the time of his life with that yoghurt!
I'm just seeing this comment. I just knew I had messed up the whole batch. but it turned out good. I need to make that again!!

Could I use store bought coconut yogurt ad a starter?
i have never done that so I can't vouch for the outcome but I have read reviews of others trying that.
Looks bomb! 😋😋

Can you put the mini mason jars in the Instant Pot to cook the yogurt instead of having to scoop it out into the jars afterwards?
You actually can. But we wanted to make a huge batch and all of the jars wouldn't fit.
can I use gelatine powder instead on agar powder
you can. we chose to use agar agar because it is a vegan alternative to gelatin powder. i've seen lots of recipes that use gelatin. let me know how it turns out.

Great video, but I have a hard time hearing you because of the music. (The music is nice, though.)
