He would avoid any conflict with anyone which meant backstabbing and throwing anyone under the bus as long as he looked good, then he was resentful that I wasn't passive grrr. Looking back I think his mother didn't like me because he sh*t talked to her about me before we met
I'm about to dump my passive bf.... I can make all the decisions and defend myself equally the same as when he's around... except there's no expectation of sex with someone I have no attraction to.

What you describe here is accurate from my experience dating passive emotionally unavailable men for the last 20 years.
Yeah, I'm sorry you have had to suffer. Many of these men want to do better, but they just don't know how
