The fact that guitar has amp, speaker, battery and processing unit built in, and still is that light weight is impressive.
Man I got mine a couple weeks ago, love it!! Plays fantastic! Stays in tune and is just an awesome little cheap guitar! Great video!
taylor so glad you chucked this guitar through an amp, most people just review it with the speaker built in, ive been waiting for someone to chuck it into a decent tube head... great man taylor thank you lol!
Good video. Great review
I have their little 1/2 size acoustic and it is brilliant!
sick video. also have to always remind myself that when i see your thumbnails. it isnt a photo of me haha
OR IS IT??
I need one. If i can sit on my couch and play with headphones whenever i want and not need to drag an amp out. That's worth $400. New guitar with new perks. That's a win for me.
😊 there is a way for less money with your current guitar. a litle devise that comes packed with presets that can be eddited or, you go Tonocracy : if you have a small laptop or notebook or ibook or what is that applething called, you do not need this guitar ut only your notebook and tonocracy ( free to download ). Now it has a whole lot of presets and you can also make your own within the vst which can run as a stand alone aswell. I use this vst all time with my Guitar.
It does pretty well with the speaker too. So you could easily jam on the porch or wherever without any wires.
good content as always man
Cool man, sounds interesting! This VHT is cool! I've been using a carbon fiber pick, jazz III dunlop maxgrip, I'll definitely try one of those guitars!
I love the VHT deliverance!
This is a great guitar! My Gibson SG and Fender Strat have been parked in their cases since this arrived.
3 of my ukuleles are enya, one of those is their carbon fibre nova Ukulele. And for the ukes at least they are really nice to play.
I have an Enya acoustic without the electronics and it kicks ass. Not the warmest of bass compared to a dreadnought but it sounds great for "carbon"
I want it love the video too great job
Are the pickups part of the active circuit or do you still get output with a dead battery? Theoretically the guitar itself is going to far outlast the battery's ability to hold a charge, and who knows what sourcing a replacement will be like when that happens
I would totally be into this thing if it didn't have the built in amp and effects. I get why they're there but that's just personal preference. It would be cool if they did a version without that stuff and just the standard pickups. It would definitely be a cool budget gigging guitar if it was more stripped down and if I wanted effects on the go I'd just use any of the new pocket sized modellers like the Mooer prime p2
Did the pickups seem a little low output? I think it actually sounds great, might even be a better candidate for higher output pickups.
I do like the headphone jack..but i would like to try a solid one with a set of sd’s and no speaker in it and see what it sounds like.
You want to really impress me, play Enya on that guitar! 🤣
Nobody wants to impress you though 🤷♂️
Damn, I can't believe I didn't think to do that lol.
@ChakraOver9k only loser 💩 like this comment. You guys mom impressed me! 🤣👉👌
@@ChakraOver9k 💩🤡
Curious, does it come with an amplifier or do you need your own ? (like buy it separately etc.)
I imagine it has quite a thick guitar tone for being so light is because wood can have air pockets which may lead to it sounding less thick depending on the wood. Since this guitar is made from carbon fibre is does not have air pockets I would assume. This is just me guessing from the surface level information I know.
cool guitar... but that battery will only last a few years. do they sell replacements and can you get to it to remove/replace it?
Skilled technician do this without any efforts.
That was one of my concerns but I have seen another youtuber remove the backplate and the battery is very easily accessible. Just disconnect the connector, take the old one out, throw the new one in and screw the back plate back in place. Seems like it doesn't require a lot of skill or knowledge to pull it off.
Ok just bought one. Now how to get it in the house with our wifey noticing:)
See this I find interesting, will we see other guitar related products being made of alternative materials? Could cabinets be made of carbon fibre?
Aw man if they only placed the speaker, I don't know, maybe on top, so it doesn't ruing the looks and also points where it should, at your face, I would instantly buy this.
What is the riff from that you’re playing around 14:30?
Might be a good guitar for busking
Sounds surprisingly good. Idk but I kinda want one.
I wonder, can it work as a bluetooth speaker to jam along to?
What i noticed was a weird top end. A plasticy, brittle crunch, like if you dump a bag of fritos out and grind them with your feet or a plastic box.
I may have missed it, but does it need to charged to play through an amp?
I'd buy one in a heartbeat if there was an option for one without the speaker and modeler. Just two humbuckers and LP style controls, please!
Do they make one without the app and speaker?
Wish i have it 😮
How do the on board effects stack up against a Mooer gtrs intelligent guitar.
There's only a couple effects. The fidelity is comparable, but there just aren't many options.
@@TaylorDanley Appreciate the info
Cool.
Carbon fiber/Polycarbonate if it were all carbon fiber it would be a LOT more 😉
You can tell a difference in the sustain esp when compared to the jackson
I imagine it's actually plastic. Gonna take someone cutting one apart to find out. Or perhaps you could remove the neck and get a glimpse from sanding the neck joint a bit.
Love ur videos man always sound great but this thing i just dont know man lol
They're not for everyone for sure!
@@TaylorDanley yeh i get that and thats the beauty of these reviews my brother!!
What is your opinion of it as just a guitar,? Putting aside the speaker and effects.
I'd still love if you some Medusa tones for ToneX.
I just did one, the only issue is it takes way too long to process them. I just don't have the time to invest a whole day into making 5-10 tone models.
@@TaylorDanley Did you upload it? If so, what's the tone called? Cause I can't find it.
Damn i want your personal opinions on this one bud. Ive really been eyeing some of these new fangled composite guitars that go for a pretty penny....
Mainly RUF guitars !
I really appreciate that. I've been thinking a lot about this lately, and I just want to be ethical as possible. I was considering doing something like a follow up series where I give my updated opinions, but I'm still not sure how I'm going to do it yet.
Looks like they took a ton of material off of the frets to level them and from what I can see the upper frets don't look crowned.🤔
Nothing about the frets seemed unusual or felt unnatural. But I have no idea what they did 🤷♂️
They added 50 bucks to the price tag recently. Still a solid deal though.
great!
holy shit! Future is now!
I got a deck of Texas Chainsaw Massacre playing cards too...
It sounds sick, for a carbon fiber guitar, and even more for a 400 guitar
Honestly crazy value. Shame about the Les Paul style
For a composite guitar, yeah, I couldn't find an electric that was comparable.
I have had so many arguments with guitar purists over tone wood. It makes a difference in acoustic tones only and they insist otherwise. Id happily have that guitar in my collection.
I don't think it matters, unless it matters to you. Like for example, if you really want some beautiful flamed maple top, then yeah.. it matters. But if you want mahogany because tone, probably not so much.
@@TaylorDanley I have 2 strats, one made of ash and another made out of basswood. With my amp set up, they sound pretty much the same so I agree with you.
In the future, when we’re all playing carbon fiber guitars, we’ll just argue about tone weave and tone layers
I think it makes a difference in sustain, you can hear it when you switch guitars. I think it actually makes the palm mutes sound better but when you hit the open chord it sounds kinda thin like it fades out quik
The zero fret seems very promising
except it is not the cheapest of the CF Enya guitars (it's the most expensive in their line last time i checked)
"I Think I’m Over Mesa Cabs"
1. GET RID OF THE SPEAKER AND OR ELECTRONICS
2. PUT IN GOOD PICKUPS
3. STAINLESS STEEL FRETS
4. LOCKING TUNERS
5. PRICE AT $499
6. SELL LIKE HOT CAKES
My work is done here.
I agree with the speaker, it's a weird choice to me but I think that's their brand model based off the acoustics they make. I thought the pickups were pretty good though.
@@TaylorDanley Yeah I thought the guitar sounded great actually.
Guitar like this are the future. Maybe 20 to 50 years down the road. Less maintenance and work that's needed to play guitar.
Carbon fiber or built in multieffects? I agree on carbon fiber or some other composite materials. You're already seeing that with richlite, etc. Idk about the built in effects and speaker catching on.
@@TaylorDanley I guess it was about carbon fiber. Way less worry, especially for tours on different hemispheres, which cause massive temperature changes that affect the guitar
but.... but... but i wanna hear *your* conclusions😔
IDK man maybe it's just the effects settings but it doesn't sound that thick to me. Kind of tinny sounding. Especially noticeable when letting a chord ring out; the musical resonance simply isn't there. The musical dynamic of letting a 6 string chord ring out says a lot about the guitar.
Agreed. The Jackson sounded way thicker and better overall in the A/B.
Too much distortion and crunch while reviewing. I would rather see several styles of playing to get a well rounded view of the tone.
Nobody will be playing clean or blues on one of those so it's pointless
It's probably not really carbon fibre which is why it's cheap. The other cheap carbon fibre guitars on the market are basically a plastic and they're fake. Carbon fibre is not cheap or easy to produce. So I am highly doubting it is actually carbon fibre.
That was my guess too.
looks and sounds like shite. I want one
Definitely not real carbon fiber. That shit is stupid expensive.
Hahaha *Make sounds out of this hole. 😅😅😅😅😅
HORRIBLE MULTIEFFECTS SOUND AND EXTREME FEEDBACK ISSUES WHEN USING ANY DISTORTION, GREAT BODY/NECK THOUGH, 10 WATTS MY ASS, 1/2 WATT RMS! I'M RETURNING IT BECAUSE SOUND SUCKS
Hi , ahh never and one more time never for that kind of technology , That sound is fuuuuu.... I love your videos but I believe that non of serious guitarist will buy this type of guitar haha
CADÊ os sommeliers de pau!? Pra falar que madeira é essa... Kkkkk tem que ser muito trouxa pra pagar mais caro por causa de madeira que não muda som nenhum!
Nah, fam. Played that weird Nova Go, I highly doubt that their design language allows them to make a guitar that is genuinely good. I might change my mind if I get to try a Sonic, but I'mma plaster BS on this one.
Also, extremely doubtful that the instrument is actually carbon fiber. It would have a much, much higher pricepoint. For the price of the guitar, you'd be lucky to pay for the resin you'd be using to construct it, much less the weave.
What I don't understand is they make a carbon fiber guitar without putting any thought into the guitar part itself. Simple things can be done like 24 frets instead of 22. Is it designed for easy upper fret access? Doesn't look like it. Locking tuners? Why not? I'd rather have locking tuners than that cheap ass speaker next to the pickups. You don't need that speaker. Hire someone like Rusty Cooley to design a guitar and then make it carbon fiber. You'll get a great playing guitar instead of some gimmicky piece of junk and still be able to do it at a decent price. You'll sell a lot more of them.......
Bruh....LMAO @BaenaCarcosa 5:11
Gift for me this guitar, im from brasil, ai dont jave money =( my dream a guitar good =(
