I never thought I'd see the day when we'd get an affordable Carbon fiber Les Paul!
Here is the guitar info/specs: bit.ly/43rgqqr
Amazon link: amzn.to/493X2B5
Enjoy :)
Fibre.
lol, they've already jacked it up another 50 bucks
Does it have a "acoustic sound" preset?, I can only find specs stating it comes with "4 onboard presets: Clean, Overdrive, Crunch, and Lead".
@@paulcatarino2209 Well THERE'S your answer!
You need to check out a censtar
I'm hearing some nice tones and long sustain. Nice to see Enya Guitars keep innovating and improving their designs and Specs, and making them affordable. Good work.
Awesome, Darrell! Love how you showcase the unique guitars.
I think that guitar it’s pretty amazing for someone who’s learning or if you are a player and wanna take your guitar with on vacation!
I'm impressed with the sound from the onboard speaker. I didn't expect that. Especially from a $350 guitar. This could make me rethink my first guitar to learn on.
Take advantage of the sale don't wait lol. It's worth it. It doesn't feel plastic it feels alien levels of smooth
I also love the on board speaker Im glad you said that at the end as I thought on the couch mucking around its perfect, or quiet jams with as friend ....so easy...no carting any thing else around. Love it!
I have the 1/2 size Enya acoustic carbon fiber acoustic....love it.
That is neat. Guitars with built-in effects are so much fun to play, and the sound can be excellent. Mine (not an Enya) is all I play.
bought the enya acoustic after watching your vid and i've had it a couple of years and it's been a great guitar...take it to the lake, camping and work road trips no problems at all, and stays charged up forever, just love it...think i'll grab one of these, really impressed with enya products...thanks for demo vid.
These would be great for buskers/Street performers
I'm playing in the rain, just playing in the rain, what a glorious feeling, not even out of tune!
Darrell said this guitar feels “plasticy” - that’s because these injections molded guitars are mostly plastic resin with ground up carbon fiber powder mixed in. It’s a cool practice guitar if you want an all-in-one, but be careful because this material tends to easily crack and shatter with very little effort. Agufish has a Lava 4 unboxing video where he opened the box and the entire top was shattered. There’s no way to repair these guitars, sadly. I have also heard of reports of warping after several years of use. These guitars can resist some humidity changes at best, but understand that it won’t perform like bidirectional woven carbon fiber material.
I’m not criticizing this guitar specifically as it seems really cool. I’m merely speaking g to the material that a bunch of companies have embraced. I believe it’s important that guitarists understand that there are different types of composite materials being used to make guitars, and it’s important to be educated about these materials just like you know wood, so you’ll know if it’s a good fit for your needs. I think this guitar would make a great first guitar or practice solution for home in rooms where you don’t have your amps - but if you’re looking to travel or have rowdy kids/dogs, these injections molded composite guitars won’t generally hold up to bumps, drops, and extreme temperatures over time (like high heat or frigid climates all year). If that sounds like you, you’re better off saving for a KLOS to get the most affordable bidirectional CF available. If you’re gentle on your guitars and will just use it at home, this seems like a really cool guitar to own!
Hope this info is helpful to some people. Happy playing!
Which other companies make guitars out of the stronger composite material that you speak of?
Nothing is perfect and everything on Earth is fallible. Stop over thinking.
@@bluwng He's trying to steer people away from spending $350 on something that may be dead on arrival, sometimes it's just good sense to point out the flaws in a product. Stop trying to sound smart.
As usual, a really great review of an unusual guitar at an unusual price Well fone Darrell😊❤🎉👍
Well done
Saw your vid, ordered it, got it, cant put it down. Don't need to plug in to amps, just pick it up and go, great tool!!!
I have their 1/2 size acoustic the Nova Go and it is fantastic!
Darrell, Cool review! As usual! 👋 😁
I'm getting one...looking for a light guitar because of my fibromyalgia... I play for my therapy ...self tought. You've given me some good guitar lessons along with Justin and Marty. Will be buying off this site. Thanks
Definitely seems like a fun guitar to practice on especially without having to be near your amp/setup to access some pedal tones. Also seems good for people looking to get into live playing, you can head out to the park or city center and play guitar without having to bring a full setup.
The 'yeeeees' is back!! Woohoo. Thanks Darrell.
Really digging this, think I'll pick one up and gig with it
Thank you, Darrell 👍 I recently bought the Enya Nova Go to travel with - unbreakable and if I lose it, it won’t break the bank - and I haven’t put it down yet! Feels great, sounds great! Now I’m thinkin’ about the LP 🎸
Hi just be aware, it being carbon fibre doesn’t mean it’ll be unbreakable. Carbon fibre shatters into pieces that can’t be fixed. They’re definitely harder wearing than wood but no where near as repairable
Had mine for two months now. It came perfectly intonated and still is. Changed stirngs to “9’s” and plays even better, pickups sound great and the built in effects are wonderful when just playing in my music room, the app works great with amazing selections and different amp options. I’m hoping that eventually they’ll make a 12string version
Hey Darrell, please give us more videos! Especially builds! We miss you, mate!
I'm retired from live performance (gettin' old, medical issues). I've got a wall of some 15 guitars, and actually trying to sell several off - but I just ordered this, largely for the "couch guitar" aspect of it. Seems a quick and easy way to have some tones available for fartin' around. Be interesting to see how long the battery lasts - but hey, I gotta sleep sometime.
Excellent review
Very interesting
Thankyou for posting.
I have liked and subscribed too
Cheers bro
👍😎💭🎶🎸
just got mine... awesome review.
Wow very nice for that price, nice job and looking forward to playing it,also wonder if you can add a tone control if you have access to the electronics?does it come with a case or soft case for that amount ,I'll check it out on the website thank you for the heads up very cool.
Tried it at NAMM, liked it a lot!
Love it's lines love the bridge pickup.
Been looking the review for one of these
Clean tone is really nice. Good practice guitar. Carbon is great for camping out.
glad you are promoting carbon fiber guitars!!!!
Impressive indeed! 👍🏻
Seems like a great guitar especially for only 350.00!! It sounds good for the price point. 6lbs is so light for a LP. Sound flubby😅😅😅😅 thanks for sharing this hidden gem!
Convenient + good enough is tough to beat!
Loved the video! Quick question! Does it play well with pedals or multi-effects too?
Unlike a lot of the instruments you've reviewed, this one is actually affordable. I'd like a tone control, too, but, as a package, I'm willing to live without a tone control to get the onboard effects and a reasonably usable onboard speaker. I've had a couple less-than-satifactory experiences with carbon fiber guitars, but this one looks like it effectively deals with some of the issues I had. I might have to take the plunge for this one.
What issues did you have with carbon fiber guitars? (curious as I've never tried one)
@@r3lativ Some years back I bought a small one, and except for the tuning machines, nothing was adjustable. Nut and bridge were molded into the guitar. Intonation was slightly off, but couldn't be fixed without jury-rigging something on the bridge. I didn't want to do that, so found a buyer looking for a travel guitar not affected by weather and humidity.
@@rayschoch5882 thankfully this axe is fully adjustable except for the nut
Sounds great
music is win just did a video on this same guitar earlier today . Cool guitar though, I might have to get one
Thanks for the review this was really useful for me. I saw one of these in an article and was wondering if it was any good. Nothing is perfect but as you note this has some handy features for not a huge $ amount. Might have to think about it. Thanks again and really appreciate your reviews. Looking at kits to build and like the double cut style but nothing stands out yet. Any suggestions would be great.
Pretty neat. Might be a nice starter guitar for a new player.
Until they graduate to a heap of junk that they paid too much for that won't stay in tune and has a proclivity for weak head stocks?
All that budget guitars lack these days is the name. I personally would t buy a Gibson or a Fender. The fact they have done less than nothing to innovate will be their failure. Gibson shouldn't even be in business. They failed and got bailed years ago.
i'm gonna get one just to try it out!
Very nice guitar i like it
holy smoke 10w amp in your hand can be loud, you don't have it one the floor you have it in your hands, this is really cool, cool video I have ordered a white one.🤩
Damnit Darrell, you've talked me into another one. 😁
Smooth up in ya. I mean Enya. 😮
Ok, this is a fantastic starter guitar. Nearly indestructible.
Nearly.....
Darn you. I've now just bought another guitar.
You're the best.
very interesting thanks man...
Great video. I wonder what kind of monster you could make out of one of these if you spent the savings on pickups.
Loved the review. Great work.
Quick question: Is the bridge adjustable? If not, can I replace it?
It's a standard tuneomatic adjustable with flathead driver and intonation adjustment screws
Tyler Larson also did a video on the same Enya guitar today, which gives me the suspicion they are on to me
Thank you DB.
I have 2 Enya acoustics and they are great. I didn’t know this existed until I just came across a couple recent videos.
So, I just ordered one on Enya’s website. $50 less than Amazon.
Now, I’ll have to sell something……….
Can you do a review on some budget headless guitars? (Apologies if you have already! 😂)
Nice to see they're bringing back the switch vibracell injection molded type guitars. Maybe they'll catch on now and not die the sad death before their time.
I have the enya nova go. i love it.
Very interesting guitar 🤔 insane for the price with all the technology in it, looks like you can't modify it though to what someone wants. But for the price, definitely something someone could pick up, for a first timer.
If they make a tele style version, I'm so there!
Amazing review , cant believe is $350.00!!
Is there any connection for Aux-in so that we can play with backing track?
How long the battery will last after it is being fully charged?
Does it come with the case?
Yes, I agree that they need to put regular jack and more sturdy bottom to avoid scratching.
Thanks for through review. Cheers from Indonesia.
I want one of these just for the weight savings alone. I want something that I can just pick up and play at home without much fuss. My Les Paul weighs more than a dense watermelon, and I'm always worried about smashing it into things in my small townhouse. Something like this seems perfect to pick up and play (cheap, light, built in speaker, good neck/playability).
With you on the tone pot. A concentric vol/tone pot could work on this.
Even though you can't pronounce comPOSite.....your show is the best of all the dozens of guitar channels.
Amazing how well it sounds and sustains without any 'tone woods'. Must be getting it's tone from the Les Paul shape. 😏
Mine is the white one, better tone from white
I have an Enya Uke and sounds great. Same fake carbon fiber.
This may have ended the agonizing decision of which electric guitar will be my first. I have the Enya X4 Pro Mini Acoustic and I love it! I don’t know much about electric guitar and this Enya looks to be enough for someone just delving in. The professional setup needed on many budget electric guitars might be totally unnecessary with this one.
You may have to stretch the strings and you'll want to mess with tone settings but you should be pleased. App works great
Are you going to do a tear down? I would love to see the innards!
Hey, Darrell, about that jack plate: Have you ever dealt with a barrel-style output jack? Same thing here, with access from the inside. No worse. No better, either.
Interesting guitar… are you going to look at the Katana Go and a regular electric vs this? I have a squire telecaster and am looking at the Go to be able to practice w/o an amp. The price ends up a wash at this point, except I really like my telie… your thought Darryl and everyone else?
You need to install the app on your phone to control the onboard features.
Lot of these companies are trying to make a name for themselves. You can find some great deals. I like Some Firefly guitars. Thanks DB. Good video as usual 👍👋✌️💯🎸🎸 nice to hear some Gary Moore licks ❤🙏💯🎸
Actually surprised by how good the built-in speaker seems to sound, specially for that price
Hi Darrell, Nice Guitar but is the top nut removable if you need to replace it. Also would the strings cut through the the plastic over time at the bridge.
You will find the tone control in the app, which also has many other effects and capabilities
I am a singer-songwriter and a guitarist. I own a Les Paul guitar. I was planning to get valeton Gp-200 to enhance my music writing (specifically) now that I've seen this NOVA go SONIC ...I'm also leaning toward getting this one instead..because it has it all for composing and practice at such an affordable price.
Now I'm confused about which one to purchase...another guitar or a multiprocessor?
Carbonite, have to look that up. $350, yes the price is fair. Sounds sweet.
Okay, you’re not a snob.🙏🏼💙🎸😎
Thank you for this review, did you tried it playing with a strap ? what about neck dive ?
Daryl, do you think it would be easy to work on this guitar yourself or get new parts for it?
No AUX in? Think they missed a trick there! Plugging in your phone and jamming along would be killer
Would be interested in a model without the built in speaker and effects.
Hey Brohams, can you switch the pickups to something traditional like Seymour Duncan HH???
I have the acoustic GO Pro. Looks toy like but I've played the hell out of it. Shocked by how it sounds in my vox . Easy writing tool. But I'd love this new 1 especially if I can switch the pickups.
Please review HAGSTROM guitars. Great quality affordable instruments.
Tone control? If there is space in that cavity for two pots, you can pretty simple solder a pot and a capacitor on each pickup wire. When those pickups are active, then things change a bit, but even then.... how hard can it be to add a simple tone control?
It would be nice to have some exciting vibrant colours.
That's crazy cheap for the spec and looks...this is perfect as a metal guitar in the Matt black but with enough sonic versatility for other styles...do I need one? 🤔
Idk if the built-in speaker really sounds that good through the way you recorded it. I suppose it may sound better in person or recorded better...
Они учли все пожелания в одной гитаре. По-моему, она идеальна! Само совершенство, как и ее цена 👍🏻
Actually there is controls for tone settings in App
"Enabling APP connectivity for advanced tone editing capabilities"
I’m thinkin it won’t sustain like a regular les Paul made of wood, maybe w a Sustainiac pickup. Would ❤ to hear it played thru. Marshall tube half stack w a vintage Ibanez tubescreamer, classic 80s Metal tone. Think it will do it?
70 years ago a brand new Fender Stratocaster would set you back $250 and unless it was lost, stolen or beat to hell it would still be as playable today as it was back then. I can't help but wonder what this $350 guitar will be like in 70 years. I would seriously doubt if any of it's onboard special effects and features would still be functional. Maybe it would still function and be playable if plugged into an amp but when one thinks of how obsolete a cell phone, a tablet, a laptop or a desktop becomes within a few years I don't see this guitar lasting long enough to be little more than a short term gimmick.
Have you looked at Aria guitars.
As the strings pass through the body do they touch the body at any point without that point being covered with metal ?
Tune that thing!
How is the sustain?
How does the neck compare to playing on a maple or mahagany neck?
Id consider this for a travel guitar if it checks all the boxes
Thru the cord to amp, are the magnetic pups active, dependent on the internal battery or passive? Did you weigh it, is 6lbs the actual weight?
Hey, what about Newen Stratocaster are they good. I am confused between Pacifica 012 or Newen Stratocaster which one you recommend.
What happens when the battery needs replacement, or the digital electronics become obsolete? Also, how difficult would this guitar be to refrett?
Can it be still used while charging at the same time? How about the battery life??
This makes me wonder why the Boaz One hasn't come close to sniffing the retail market yet.
Did you make any adjustments in the app to control the feedback? I had a lot of feedback and could not fix it even by lowering the volume. Thank you.
