I just bought one a month ago for myself and I really like it. I have been playing 50 + years and own several really fine guitars like my Lowden, and 700 series Taylor. I bought this to play around with but was pleasantly surprised at it’s playability and quality. I like it so much after owning one and after tuning in to your video I just bought one yesterday for my only guitar student at the moment who is a musically gifted 12 year old girl whose parents cannot afford a guitar for her. She been my student for a little over a year now. She is already dedicated to music and learning and has an attention span many times longer than the average of her age. She has a serious mind and has been practicing on my 20 year old Tacoma Chief which I’ve lent her for the past six months. I am giving this Enya to her later this week at our next lesson. I am also surprising her with free guitar lessons from now on because of her demonstrated desire to learn and her rapid progress. She’s become like a granddaughter to me and I want to help her on her musical journey as far as she wants to pursue it. Thanks for this excellent video. It helped convince me.

@@Robylazarus She deserves it. One remarkable thing I forgot to mention about this child is that her ear is amazing. I believe she has perfect pitch. I’m going to test her without her noticing sometime this Autumn. You know Roby, I will turn seventy in December with progressive heart failure and heart disease, advancing soft tissue arthritis in all of my joints, diabetes. I am also a 12 year wounded, combat veteran having served in Norway’s Jaegerkommandoen from 1981 to 1993. My combat experience was in Bosnia-Herzegovina n 1992-93. This is where Serbs committed terrible crimes against ethnic Muslims. Most of what myself and the soldiers under my command dealt with were tracking down and neutralizing those responsible for the most heinous crimes against young women and little girls. These crimes were as horrifying as you can possibly imagine them to be. At the end of my time there I was shot by a sniper while standing on the edge of a tree line talking to my soldiers. The wound was very bad and I had to walk five days out of the mountains with this wound held together with duct tape, staples, and superglue. To this day I am not at all bothered to what I did to those Serbian murderers but I am deeply haunted by the faces of the dozens and dozens of little girls as young as five years old that these so-called militiamen raped and tortured to death. It gave me PTSD that ruled my life for ten years before I could find help to rescue myself from having lived a two year nightmare. I am fine now. I function. I play guitar to ease my spirit and I have now taken on my one student the teaching of whom gives me great joy. To give her a guitar she richly deserves was no sacrifice to me. She is so talented and is a dear and innocent light in these dark times. Teaching her each week kind of helps me know there are small things that we can do to to bring light into someone’s life and help them on their way. There is a quote I love. I don’t know where it came from but I try to live by it. Here is the quote, “it is better to light one candle than to curse the dark.” There it is in a nutshell.
I don’t know why I felt compelled to related my very personal story to you in this way. I actually have never talked about it, perhaps only a little to friends I really trust. Oh, by the way, I served in Norway’s Jaegerkommandoen but I was born in the U.S.A. I am actually a citizen of Great Britain, Norway, and of course the U.S.A. and though I have lived in England and Norway and the U.S. variously I now live in North Texas about 30 or so miles north of Dallas. Thanks for listening. I won’t bother you with any more of my life story. Great success and health to you and yours. Keep posting your excellent content.

I'm just appreciative that Phil has the bravery to review this guitar. I've watched others on TH-cam review this guitar and their respective review was just dialed-in chatter that left me at the end of their video, just where I was when I began their video - in the dark on the product. Phil has delivered info that helps me determine whether this is a company to watch and/or buy from. And that's why I continue to return to Phil's channel - the dude is a cut above his competition.

I’ve played in dives where there was chicken wire or chain link fencing in front of the stage. It was actually pretty fun, once you get used to the concept that they’re throwing stuff because they’re having fun, not because they hate you. But you don’t want to take your good guitar on the gig, though, take this carbon fiber guitar or an old plastic Ovation that you don’t care if it gets wet. You don’t want to get beer on your pre-war herringbone or your 1935 D’Angelico New Yorker, do you?

I got the basic version after watching this. Excellent buy. Mine had a slight intonation issue, but after replacing the bridge saddle with a compensated one (Allparts 2213-000) it was much better. If you do this, you may need to shim it slightly. I used a piece of an old credit card and it was perfect.

EDIT: Review added at the bottom!
Ordered one today as the electric ones are 20% off. I have a feeling it is going to make me shed a manly tear when I play it through my 60's Flotatone tube amp. First brand new guitar I've gotten since my Yamaha bass in '20, and first NEW acoustic/electric in 14 years. Thanks for the review. I watched the guitar hit #1 on Amazon within a month of this review coming out, so I hope they cleaned up some of the minor gripes you had lol.
EDIT: Okay, a month later, and this guitar has far exceeded all expectations, and has no issues whatsoever. Beautiful, amazing quality guitar. The bluetooth connection it has is awesome, and the fact that you can have it play its own backing band is phenomenal. It is a top tier recommendation to add to your arsenal. GET 10/10

I also bought one of these about 3 months ago. I didn't opt for the electronics version because I just wanted a small campfire guitar that I could leave in my campervan without worrying if the humidity/temperature changes would destroy it.
My guitar looks exactly the same except white. However, the case I got with mine is completely different. It has a pocket on the front and backpack straps on the back. It has a reasonable amount of padding, and I was surprised to see a foam neck cradle integrated in the design, which is pretty standard for a hard case but this is probably the first time I've seen one in a gig bag. It also included a strange looking guitar strap that I've never used and probably never will.
My experience with the guitar is pretty much identical to yours. I definitely wasn't expecting it to sound as good as it does, and even though I planned on just leaving it in the van, it tends to follow me around because it's so easy to pick up and play. I think part of the reason is that I feel like it's a tough guitar that I don't have to baby, so I don't feel obligated to hang it back up or put it back in it's case like my more expensive guitars. It just kind of floats around the house and even though it hasn't seen it's case in months it still looks as good as the day it arrived.
Every guitar in my arsenal is technically a better guitar than this little guy, but what sets this guitar apart is that it has more utility and convenience than any of them.
Like you, I won't gush about how awesome it is, but I'll admit it's way better than I expected and I'm shocked at how frequently I use it since I only planned to use it while camping.

It sure seems like its plastic instead of any carbon fiber that I have seen, but its durable! It has also survived being left out in a rain storm! Its the perfect couch/camping guitar for me. I spent a little over $100 on it and the gig bag alone is worth that to me. I like that it has big frets and doesnt have that much projection, so I don't bother other people.

I was intrigued by the idea of a carbon fiber type guitar and this is a way for me to get my feet wet without spending a lot of money. Great review, thank you, Phillip! And thank you for the excellent tech tips, including how to use some cool Stew Mac parts that I've been wondering about but too leery of using without having any pro luthier skills.

Another great review. I have a baby Taylor, which I enjoy, but the stability and robustness of a carbon fibre guitar has tangible benefits especially if you live in Australia and travel on a motorcycle. Well done mate. 🍻👍🤟

I got to say…which I don’t write on many comments. This guitar is an absolute treat. Yes the reverb is the best, it always is! I have had it for six months now, and I collect guitars (GAS bad). When my buddies come over to jam in the dining room\kitchen, it is always the first to be requested. Cheers. BTW great review..spot on.

About the battery, temperature really affects lithium batteries. On cold days they can last even half of they normally do in a warm day so that variance you had is normal.

The reviews have been dicey on these, but we're talking about Amazon Reviews. Having Phil run one through its paces means a lot to me, and changes my opinion on the guitar-which i had written off as cheep and shitty. Im a mouthe-breather at best, but i will eventually need something acoustic. Since my nickname is "Breaker Jon," for a reason, I try to buy stuff that a moron can own, works in the jungle/desert/islands/does not explode. Carbon fiber guitars have been on my radar for a while..but the novelty of them commands a high premium (as does quality, accoutrements). This one might be a good fit for me. I think Carbon fiber guitars might be the future, or something non reactive for tuning stability. Its cool that this works, plays "better than a mini Taylor" and the price really is the tits. The next pricepoint is Donner around 500 bucks, then Kohl at a grand-ish, then like 3+ grand for the super Elvis'd up guitars. The other Enya model, is like a warcrime to me for being so ugly, and it literally makes my skin tighten up just looking at it. While i like innovation, value, ruggedness; i still have some basic expectations for aesthetic value. Its cool this one actually looks like a guitar.

Simple and effective tips on levelling the frets and maximizing the value of this guitar. Great mic sound. Best sounding and most practical travel guitar I’ve seen yet. It would have been nice to hear the plugged in sound for open mic night stuff but at 20 minutes I guess it was time to stop. Either way this is the travel guitar for me.
