  • Total eclipse in St. Louis, MO on August 21, 2017 for 1:40. You can see solar flares, stars, planets, and the diamond ring effect near the end. Shot with cheap eclipse glasses on the lens of an old Sony CX-160 handycam.

Great video! Saw it arrive in Newport, Oregon. Drove from Trenton Michigan to home in Brookings, up to Newport day of eclipse. My shots were of bay, and bridge during Totality

This was my second trial eclipse. We took the kids to the 1979 total eclipse in the Columbus Ricer Girge and now this one in Madras, Oregon. Both were about a 2-hour drive from home. Coming back from Madras was another story. We went over the day before and had s reserved space in a grass field, along with thousands and thousands of others. Our field had spaced fir 1,800 vehicles and it was sold out! It was just one of many. I think this will be my last. I'm 74 and don't expect to be around fit the next one! Sounds like you had z hood time in St. Louis. Wonderful video here. We only took stills.

Am I the only one who forgot to look away before I took my eclipse glasses off?

Cool vid. I saw it from south stl. By chance did any of you see the
shadow bands right before and after the eclipse. I saw them where i was
at. They were wavy lines on the ground or on side of house kind of
looked like light reflecting off of water? Just curious.
