    I have a fig cutting I planted from airlayering our fig tree. So when I transferred it into a 5 gallon grow bag, it had roots, leaves, and some figs growing on it. I cut off the figs and most of the leaves and left some small ones. However, the small leaves have now died off, and the buds on the tips are now browning. Is my fig cutting doing ok even if that's happening? It passed the scratch test btw. And I just added some earthworm castings to help promote some growth. Nothing yet... its visible parts are dying off. Help, please? I would love this cutting to prosper! (P.S. I'm in NY if that makes a difference for possible weather related reasons).

    our zip-loc bag didn't have a paper towel inside but the cuttings were fine when they arrived here (to Kazakhstan) 🙂 they even had the buds that started opening! 😍

    Hello question on this. I had propagated cuttings in sand and roots started. When planted into soil the roots disappeared. Is that due to difference in medium or to wet of soil possibly.

      Either not waiting long enough for the roots to be a few inches long, or the soil mixture was not adequate. I buy a quality potting mix and then add extra perlite for added drainage. Though we want great drainage, we always want the soil to be moist. Waterlogged soils will rot the roots.

    I have a slightly different problem. I've had good success getting my cuttings to root and they grow good roots and leaves. But I can't seem to keep them alive after 10 weeks or so. I put them in larger pots, but at some point they just die. I know the spring is the best time to plant, but it's still pretty warm in Arizona and I'm wondering if I can get them established before winter here.

    So many methods and opinions about propagation. Reading the blogs, many have a great degree of failure. What is your opinion of figpops vs cup? Thank you for your help.

    Just subbed. Thank you for the informative video! Wish I would've known about your site sooner. You have great prices!

      Thanks for the sub! We’ll have things listed on there in the near future. We’re in an awkward spot inventory wise because our growth has been substantial so it’s been hard to have enough stock.

    I have one right now that was doing ok but wasn’t putting out any growth. As of today the new growth is wilting and shriveled. I gently removed it from the pot to see if it was rotting and if you scratched it it was green but all the bark came off super easy like it was rotting so I’m not sure what it is

      After the formation of roots is a perfect time to get some active growth going under grow lights. 😀

    Do you have Smith and when are you going to have cuttings available this year

      Cuttings are available right now. Email subscribers always get early access before the general public gets to order. So head to the site and see what’s still available for the season. 😀

    My fig cutting has 4 beautiful leaves, but it is winter and 3 to 4 month until spring. How to I care for the plants indoor until I can care for my plants until I put them outside? And how do I transition them to the garden? Thanks

    • @PlantFanatics
      @PlantFanatics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Really nothing special to it. When you plant it outside put it in an area that gets full sun. It’s very possible it’ll go into a state of shock and may defoliate. It’ll come back though.

    This is not ten reasons figs die. This is mostly ten things you want to share about your business.
