    Do you do this before sending out cuttings people bought from you?

    It’s a great idea, but it’s also important to mention that soil for propagation of cutting needs to be mainly or all inorganic soil that retains both water and air, such as perlite, vermiculite, expanded shale or expanded cray. I also like mixing sphagnum moss, which seems anti-mold and anti-fungal.

    How do I handle this with cuttings that are already in process of sand propagation? I did dunk the cuttings in the solution but I don't think that the chemical was still good, so now there's a little bit of mold. So I'm going over to pick up some fresh chemical and I want to redo it. But should I just make up your solution with water and the chemical and spray it on the cuttings? They've already been in process with the sand propagation for I think it is 5 days now.

      Peroxide is all I’ve ever used. What makes you not want to use it? Perhaps a spray fungicide from the store?

    I just sprayed mine with peroxide because they had mold. They've only been in pots and in bag for abiut a week. After the peroxide dries, should I put the bags back or try without? I'm in San Diego and not running heat. Humidity stays around 50-60% this time of year. Should I maybe mist them instead of water?

      You should be fine without the bag in that case. Just keep an eye on the soil and make sure it doesn’t dry out too much. Lightly moist soil is best.

    I'm currently doing a rework protect on a citrus patch. The anti- fungi chems that were used as a preventative are no longer available and I've been struggling to find a replacement.
    As this will be a bark graft ( scion on to the stump), will a hydrogen peroxide solution be able to protect it for the 2 week healing period inside the plastic bag without affecting the graftunion?

      Thanks for the great question! If I were you I would use something a little less harsh like a mixture of Neem oil and dish soap as needed. I definitely wouldn't spray a fungicide unless you see fungal growth taking place. I hope this helps! Good luck with your project.

    I think you forgot the most important thing. What's the percentage of peroxide you have in that brown bottle. In pharmacy they usually sell 3% or 1.5%, I know some guys treat mold on pitaya with 1.5% solution.

      @PlantFanatics  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use a 1.5% solution. Thanks for the great question!

    I use it in my garden at 6 to 8 tablespoons per gallon, problems arrive when it rains for two weeks straight.

    How can I identify if it’s mold or the natural progression of propagation?

    • @PlantFanatics
      @PlantFanatics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There really shouldn’t be anything resembling mold growing on a cutting during propagation

      @@PlantFanatics sometimes it isn't easy to differentiate between molds & root nodes??
      Don't they look similar?

    You're funny ! But smart, my cuttings are always molding up but one time 2 years ago I put cuttings in a Ziploc with a paper towel wrapped around the bottom with Clonex and they all took but potted them too soon and they all died. Just recently one very thin rose twig broke off because of the dogs I decided to try rooting it and crazy that from all it's the only one who rooted and like crazy lots of big white roots !! CLONEX IS AWESOME !!!!!!!!!

    My cuttings are already starting to sprout is it still safe to do this on mulberry cuttings?

    • @PlantFanatics
      @PlantFanatics  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do run the risk of perhaps burning the new tender leaves on your cuttings. I’d make as low of a percentage of peroxide as possible to start with.

  • @panpeter2969

    Can you use it to kill mold on cuttings tha are being rooted?

    • @PlantFanatics
      @PlantFanatics  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Absolutely you can. Just use the method shown in this video to create your mixture. It works wonders.

    Can i use etheal alcohol?

    • @PlantFanatics
      @PlantFanatics  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve not done that myself, therefore I can’t tell you the answer for sure. I definitely recommend peroxide because I know it won’t harm the plant.

    so, 1/2 oz peroxide : 5 oz water into spray bottle

    • @thesarge-
      @thesarge- 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think it’s 1.5oz of peroxide to 5oz of water.

      we have recently started putting isopropyl alcohol in a little spray bottle and just spritz the mold and it has been doing great.

      To much could hurt plant, but alcohol evaporates quick, a good mix of alcohol, peroxide can work wonders for several things, as well as pest add neem oil to mix with small amount of mild soap as an emulsifier talk about an effective multi purpose spray.. happy growing
