Your pronunciation of Dunstanburgh will make every Northumbrian chuckle, good video even I've never been to Cateran hole, but to say no one visits some of the others is stretching it a bit, especially Dunstanburgh and Preston Tower.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. I know some places are more popular. It just made a better title and I wanted to still include them.

Great video. Loved your pronunciation of the place names, I'm local and this is how you say it - Dunstanburra and Bamburra. Think of the word "Borough" - Northumberland is the new Cornwall, irritating at times during the summer, but a great place to live. Nice one !

Thanks, haha I'll remember that for next time and I agree it's a lovely location.

Great vid. Grew up and spent most of my young years in Northumberland. One of my favourite spots is just a short distance from Cateran Hole - Ros Castle Camp, an iron age hillfort with spectacular views. From the toposcope at the centre of the fort you can see 7 castles, including Chillingham, Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh, and Lindisfarne

Years ago I went on a walk around there with the County archaeologist, he really opened my eyes to the thousands of years of history.

I think Dunstanburgh Castle is definitely worth the money, its lovely for a mooch. And there's toilets if you're on a long walk 😂 Also coming from the opposite side, if you park at Craster you walk along the sea but not on sand and then get the famous Craster kippers on your way back to the car.

Nice to see places I know so well. I used to live at Hethpool. My sister fell into the plunge pool at the Linn. That bridge over the gorge used to have planks missing, it was terrifying. Sorry to be a pedantic, but you pronounce Cheviot with Chee vee ot. If you're up that way again, get to the Hen hole on Cheviot, there is a lovely waterfall there. You can buy a permit to drive up the Cheviot Valley, just watch out for sheep, crazy locals and timber trucks. Also there is a nice walk up from Trowburn foot over to Trowup burn, then down the Hetha burn, back to Hethpool.

Wow - Hethpool Linn looks a strong current! I'll try remember to pronounce it correctly next time, haha. If I'm up in the area again, I'll visit Hen Hole. Thanks for the suggestion.
