    Loved those first couple of images with the rocks. They were quite distinctive.

    Hi Simon love the rock shots, you make them look volcanic with the textures and the colour tones. Fantastic stuff keep the inspiration coming.

    Haha!! “That boulder is quite attractive”. Words you could only hear uttered by a nature photographer. I love that composition of the castle with the attractive boulder in the foreground!
    Thanks Simon.

    Hello Simon, what a breath of fresh air you are. I have been absent for a while due to all of the election nonsense over here. I am glad to be back among the quiet beauty of your images. I love all three images. And what a lovely campsite. Thanks for all of your efforts.

    It is always a joy watching your videos-how you find images in otherwise nothingness or busy scenes is genuinely inspiring. I am talking about the rocks and leaves shots. Amazing photos. You are indeed an artist.
    The last shot with the castle was just a cherry on top.
    Thanks for the great video.

    Nice work Simon, loving the leaves. Don't forget to swing by for a pitstop if you're ever in the Lakes.

    Love the last image so much. The boulder was such a great find that i could have been a sole subject by itself

    I loved the castle image. You captured just the right mood. It looks haunted, like something out of a Lovecraft story.

    It's amazing the impact a white border has on an image. My favorite is the black rocks. Thanks, Simon!

    Lovely images! I especially like the focus stacked leaves and the close-up of the rocks. I appreciate the commentary that reveals and walks one through a lot of the creative process - making it all the more inspiring. To me this is certainly one of the most inspiring photography channels out there. :) Also, I like that grounded artistic focus on what is being captured through the screen rather than always trying to shoot ETTR and maximize the amount of information captured. I find myself doing the latter more often than I should, just to later realize that it often stands in the way of true photographic art. Thanks!

      Thank you for the channel compliments. It’s hard to stand out in a busy place but I seemed to have got a nice core reliable following. You’re right on the artistic front. More emphasis on the art and less on the tech.

      Glad you enjoyed it Barbara. This rocks have a lot more to give I feel. I was feeling the time pressure a little bit there. I wanted the rocks but equally I wanted to get the castle.

    You have conditioned me well to always look down, and to spend a fair amount of time just observing. I have also found that when I don't see anything, if I collapse the tripod and put the camera in the pack, turn around, and guaranteed within 30 seconds there it will be! My sure fired tip to success.

    As usual Simon top quality content. Your sense of anticipation looking for these compositions and the excitement of finding them really comes across. Especially liked the 2nd shot of the rocks. And for anyone reading this I’d recommend Simon’s book - quality all the way through 👍

    a wonderful treat as always Simon 🙂
    love the horse chestnut leaves in particular. I found a leaf completely out of place on the sands at Swansea beach a few weeks ago - lovely contrast between its smoothness and then the rough granularity of the sand, as displayed in your find 🙂

    • @SimonBoothPhotography
      @SimonBoothPhotography  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I loved the simplicity of the find and in that it was a little bit unusual as a beach scene.

    Beautiful collection of images. Nice to see the old Pentax still in use - shame they killed it. I used to have the 645D long ago. Would love to visit this beach someday. Cheers!

      It really is a shame they killed it. I had hoped when I purchased it that they will continue to upgrade it. Sadly, I invested quite a lot of money in a nice compliment of lenses and I’m now having to consider my options going forward. Still, the camera still functions perfectly and continues to deliver fantastic results.

    Hey Simon. Lovely video. Thought you were gonna fall on these rocks. Love the light in the intimate ones of the rocks. Pretty amazing fissures in the stones. You have a new vlogging camera that tracks it was Roth your camera person the shoot? E

      Those rocks really are lethal and well known for it. Yes, I got the DJI Pocket 3. I don’t use it for every film but it’s certainly good quality and easy to use. It’s not without its annoyances though.

    A used leaf and the sort of sand me mum wouldn't have let me play in... Magic!
    The boulder in the castle shot seems to have a bit of a sparkle. Is it sand, did you pour water on it or is it - what it is? Just curious! 😀

    • @SimonBoothPhotography
      @SimonBoothPhotography  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi David, thank you for watching. At Boulder in the cleft on the beach had some speckling of lichen on the top which I think gave it that illuminant look. I also put a radiant filter on it just a lift it a little little bit in post processing.

    Hi Simon I was out yesterday with my macro looking for compositions on the woodland floor. There was a great selection of tree's in the wood so I was hoping to find something.....I didn't 😊 but I did get a nice young Amythest Decieiver. It required about a 25 image focus stack but it turned out great. It was great to see some different images from Dunstanburgh rather than the usual wet rocks and castle. Do you ever use a poloriser in your images? I can't remember you mentioning it but I find sometimes the reflection on wet leaves a bit distracting

    • @SimonBoothPhotography
      @SimonBoothPhotography  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@tuftyhill Wowzer, that’s a huge stack of images. Blows my 10 out of the water! Thanks for your feedback. I thought it made a nice change too. Those rocks are stunning yet they are always the backing singers. I do use a polariser, particularly on wet leaves. I didn’t on the rocks (I don’t think) because the shiny surface was important to keep to show modelling.

      Great variety of images Simon - they were all great ….the last image was a nice combination of intimate landscape with classic vista - the foreground boulder made it a unique image - well done!

    • @SimonBoothPhotography
      @SimonBoothPhotography  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@grantnewton5705 yes it was nice to get something a little bit different from that location. I do wonder what it will be like in some amazing light and with the slab of rock being a little bit wetter to reflect the colours on it.

  • @davidwright8086
    @davidwright8086 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    are all those boulders on the beach covered in coal tar for the last umpteen years, or is it a natural color of that type rock?

    • @SimonBoothPhotography
      @SimonBoothPhotography  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s very good question. I’m pretty sure that’s a natural colour but I am going to look up the geology of that area because the are quite unusual.
