Hello, i have an Alienware M14x R2 and before repasting my laptop, i had a fan vibration problem...when turn on i can feel the vibration under the keyboard, and less in other parts of the palmrest, i replace the fan with a new one bought it on internet, and was the same, i don't know what im doing wrong :( and the palm rest on the left side doesn't fit well...it's propped up a little bit...thanks for your time and great video!
My laptop is not powering on. When I push and let go of the power button it makes a "click" sound. Plus the power icon does not light up when it is plugged in. I have tried to power it on with the battery and adapter separately to no avail. is it possible to get a suggestion of what i could do please? btw you make it look so easy to disassemble and reassemble, great video.
There a many things that might be wrong with it. I would start with making sure your AC adapter is good. Is there a light on the charger? Is the light on/off before/after the power on attempt. Is your DC power jack loose. Holding the cord under angle with some pressure does that help. If it is non of these, then you might have a power short on either 18V or 3&5V circuits. Good luck. I don't have this unit on hand any longer to check exactly and I can seem to see it from the video. It should flush perfectly flat to the base if you install in correctly and I would say it is either under or over. Shouldn't be difficult to make it fit.
Hi...Could you please post a video on how to clean the air vents and the fans inside an Alienware M14xR1? my laptop overheats and i want to clean the vents and fan on my own. Thank you!
Hello! My laptop has recently started to not charge anymore. It will say "plugged in, not charging". I've bought and replaced the battery so that isn't the problem, I've also tested the charger with other laptops and it works fine. I've asked around and it seems to be the charging port is the problem. I've heard that the port is located in the mother board. If so, how would I go about repairing it on my own?
StarrysStudio If you haven't done any soldering in the past you will likely not able to do it on your own. We charge $99 for this service. We also have a DC jack replacement video which shows you what is the procedure to replace it. it is for another model but will help you with general idea what is required.
Hello again, can i ask you if the little rubber spacer from the heatsink goes under the motherboard when you reassembly to the base, or goes after fit the motherboard? minute 9:32. Thanks again! my problem persist don't know what im doing wrong :(
I watched this video several times so I could figure out how to access the fan and vent to clear out any dust because the fan had become very loud. Once I got to the fan, I found a fat wad of dust blocking the vent and I cleared it out. "Problem solved." I thought. I carefully put everything together, made sure all the cables were plugged in and screws tightened. After I finished putting everything together, I proceeded to turn on my laptop. Everything seemed to go smoothly for the first 5 seconds until my laptop started Beeping, and nothing would happen, the screen was black and it would keep beeping. "Fuuuuck" I took it apart again to see if I missed anything, but everything seemed in order. I turned it on again, but the beeping still happened :[ well, now I don't know what to do Dx Find an Alienware expert?

Vibrations are an indication that something is loose (maybe the palm rest), so check all your screws, clips and other fasteners.

so I think my laptop blew out a speaker lol I don't have bass anymore
Sounds like you need to replace those speakers!
Also try and see if your speaker settings are not disabling the bass function.
