I think the iPhone SE should be renamed the iPhone Classic. It’s a nice looking phone. Personally, I think the SE is a nice size for a phone. It fits in you’re pocket, nice and snug. Whereas a larger phone is more bulky, and catches the eye of a thieve if you’re walking down a high street, unaware someone behind you is about to snatch you’re phone. If you want a larger phone, buy a tablet.

      This is so true!!
The marketing would get far less attacks under the name of the iPhone classic… it wouldn’t be accused of trying to be a flagship product and people could just enjoy it for what it is, which is an excellent phone!!

    • @chipsoftheweek

It’s true, but it won’t really be that old anymore since rumours say that next year it will look like a iPhone 14 but one camera

I have the SE as my work phone… the more I use it, the more I enjoy it.
It’s not the best for media consumption, but no phone is due to the size. It is however perfect when complimented with an iPad, which to me is just an unbeatable combo.
Phone calls, messages, Apple Pay, music and maps and some social media are a dream on this little guy!! 🎉

I’m enjoying Touch ID again also I have adapted to screen already 720p is actually nice the battery is pretty good for average use 100 percent at 8:00am 87 percent at 11:30 doing basics things . People this phone is for someone who just want a phone to use it’s still Apple IOS with the A15 which the IPhone 13 Pro Max has for a extra $1000 . iPhone SE operates as smooth as other IPhones.

Got my iPhone SE (2022) in like new condition the other night. No flaws and for only $150 on OfferUp. I'm getting the same A15 chip as the 13 series and non-Pro 14s. It's for T-Mobile which I already use but called them last night to unlock it and it took less than 5 minutes.

If you can deal with the outdated design, getting an SE3 for under $200 is the best deal you can find today. I personally hate Face ID as I use my phone a lot in the dark. I drive at night for work. And the notch can get in the way when watching movies or TV shows.

I'm not a big iPhone fan. I only got it because I nearly threw away my Razr 5G by accident. It slipped into a garbage bag after I was cleaning my car's interior and I had to retrieve it from the bin I threw it in. I'll keep my Razr 5G mostly at home for a year since it isn't fully paid off.

SE3 will be my main phone for a year or until House of the Dragon airs in 2024. SE3 will be the last to offer a home button and perhaps Touch ID, LCD, and a sim tray for the U.S. market. The SE4 will look more like the XR with likely the same A15 chip. I had a 12 mini and just HATED Face ID. And games like Forgotton Anne don't play properly on phones with Face ID.

The swipe up gesture can ruin the experience as that also is the same gesture for volume or brightness for Netflix. It's weird that my $150 SE3 has become my most powerful phone I own when I'm only using it temporarily as a main phone for a year. Offers better value than a Duo 1 at the same price.
Even though I'm no iOS fan, if you can spend only $150 on an SE3 with 100% battery health, that's a good investment knowing you will get software support for a minimum of 5 to 6 years. You only need to upgrade twice per decade. A15 will be a beast for years to come if two generations of iPhones used it.
SE3 might be the most underrated iPhone ever made and more people will appreciate it once they realize they hate Face ID and the notch like I do or miss the home button. SE3 will be the last of the mid-2010s classic iPhone design. The SE4 looking like a XR will make us miss Touch ID and appreciate the SE3 once SE4 is released next year.
Will the SE3 be the last iPhone of its kind?
      - Touch ID
      - Home button
      - Notch-less
      - LCD
      - Under 140 mm in height
      - Sim tray
The 13 series and SE3 owners may get an extra year of software updates by default since the non-14s have the same A15 chip. So we'll probably reach iOS21 minimum.

Yes, I am completely blind, I don’t really care that much about the screen size, or the camera, but for the phone and for the processing chip, it’s awesome. I think most people don’t understand the point of the SE. They ask for dual cameras, or a bezelless display but they miss the point of the SE when asking for this. The SE is a cheap phone, and it cheaps out by skimping on things that would increase production costs for apple. A15 chip, 4gigs of ram and a slightly larger battery are all things apple can fit into the phone without having to manufacture any new parts that aren’t already being mass produced.
If you ask for a bezelless display then apple will have to completely redesign a new logic board that fits the iphone SE because the iphone 13/mini logic boards wont fit the body. and also new circuitry will need to be made that allows for the positioning of the face ID inside the phone. The phone might need to get thicker which means a new housing will need to be designed. All this new designing and tooling and repositioning costs money which defeats the point of the SE i.e - to be cheap.
The story continues no matter what you ask for, dual cameras? You need to make space inside the phone for extra sensor, which means u cant use already mass produced parts and tools. You will also need a new housing for a phone that is supposed to have a low production cost. For any new feature that cant be fit inside the iphone 8 easily, it drives up the cost.
What apple could have done would be to start on the body of an iphone XR instead of an iphone 8 and built in the power of iphone 13 inside it. But i guess thats a conversation for another day.

Bro they make you pay the same as you would for the 13 and 13 mini this is wild, I could find a 12 for cheaper than this that would relatively still be 10x better, even an iPhone XR slams this phone when it comes to battery and features, like bro this iPhone was cheaped out on and everyone was hyped now everyone just stuck with what they offered 2 years ago or an older flagship.

Just picked this phone up a few hours ago. I’ve been with android for a couple of years but decided to go back to Apple because believe it or not I only like the designs of the I phones with home buttons, because I have OCD and the notch used to bother me so much on my old I phone 11. I knew this would probably be the last iPhone with this design, and knew it would last for years in terms of software support. Super happy with it, and the size and performance are amazing!:))

Most tech TH-camrs get so caught up in specs that they lose sight of the value it offers. You get Touch ID, a15 processor, 7 years or more of support, impressive speakers, really good cameras and overall performance that'll last. Yes it is a bit boring design wise, but so are the Face ID iPhones but it just works. I have had every SE model because of both nostalgia and getting the latest processor at the time of release. I feel like you can't really call it a scam because anyone getting this knows what they are getting and more importantly, what they are not getting...

@@HeyMarkL I got an SE2 as my intro to the Apple iOS, then I upgraded to SE3 and I am happy with the performance boost (it is worth the 30$). I think the LCD retina display looks great even compared to some of the OLED phones and I only take basic photos, portraits and video so I dont care about all the lenses for the camera. So for my use the SE3 is awesome especially if it will get long term iOS updates. For me the disappointment for the phone is that it starts at 64gig storage instead of 128gig.

This is still an important iPhone for those 10% of us who can’t use OLED due to PWM issues. An SE Plus would have been so welcome, but won’t happen now, I guess as it could eat into the main iPhone sales. The increase in price is the same across the entire range due to the expensive 5G modem.

Here we are, again, with another review where the reviewer does not talk about the new iphone SE's performance on a 5G network. When is someone going to compare the new iphone SE on a 5G to the iphone SE 2020 (the prior version on a 4G LTE network), and tell us if the performance of the new phone is any better and by how much with 5G? Each and every reviewer talks about the same things, like the home button, the battery life and the camera. Enough already. Talk about something the other reviewers have not: how much better is the phone on a 5G network, if it is any better.

    • @HeyMarkL
      @HeyMarkL  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The problem with testing network connectivity in reviews is dependent on your location and how many 5G towers are actually by you. I could easily say “it’s slow, you’re better off with LTE” but in your neck of the woods, you may have a ton of 5G network coverage and you’re getting the best of the best results. Where does that leave my test and experience? I’ve used phones with 5G and I can tell you that LTE performs 80% better than 5G in my area. Hope this helps you find ease with reviews going forward.

This greedy Apple used a old chassis because is cheap , as the remove of the charger , win more bucks . But the sheeps see this as " environment protection " and a nostalgic phone with a home button , man what i missed that home button , with a junk display that tou can't use in a sunny day . I mean they are defies logic , they could show some respect for the users , make a very good phone , better display , camera , battery with an A13 bionic . This show that Apple have no respect for the end user with not so full pockets , because this is not a cheap phone by any means . The phone is a joke , don't full yourselves !!!
