(I am looking for Henri Pepel's comment to respond to.) The earliest estimated date for the Mahaparinirvanasutra is about 45 years after the earliest estimated date for I Corinthians 15. So how could Paul have quoted from it if his letters predated it? The answer is that our narrative traditions are usually preceded by oral traditions and the foundational Christian and Buddhist literary traditions both draw on earlier sources for their language and tropes. Paul's writing is full of tropes from Roman, Greek, Egyptian and Hebrew traditions and quotes liberally from Plato, for instance. Without recognizing those tropes we miss essential messaging within our sacred texts. It is possible that both I Corinthians 15 and the Mahaparinirvanasutra are drawing on the same collection of ascension tropes from a common source. Logically, we would have to say, it is also possible that the sutra is quoting from Paul. But what is impossible is that those correlations are a mere coincidence since they both occur in contexts to do with the master transcending death. For me that makes the correlations too much of a coincidence to be credible. Because the evidences for Paul's scholarship and his appeal to international thought are so strong, I lean to the view that Paul is drawing from the source which either fed or became the Mahaparinirvanasutra as we now have it. Paul, I was raised a fundamentalist Christian. I drifted away when I saw the damage it caused, not only in my life but in those close to me, as well as theological inconsistencies. During that time I studied ancient texts, did psychedelics, dabbled in other spiritualities. I have been returning to Christ's teachings & the Old Testament with new eyes since Jesus & Source doesn't seem to want to let me go.

Whoa!!! I am a Grandma, 77yrs old & have just spent a lifetime trying to figure out what was wrong with the Christian System I was raised in that would cause so much pain to humanity??? My search started with the incorrect translation of "we were created a little lower than the angels".....I asked a friend to look up the Hebrew word in the Psalms & it turned out to be "elohim"....NOT angels!! After my own experiences with the Chr. System I simply KNEW something was very wrong with this "God" we were worshipping!! Thanks for putting it so eloquently in your interview with Michael Sala!! ;-)
"We" were not made a little lower than angels. It's referring to Christ, who is the Son of Man. The writer of Hebrews lifts the reference out of Psalm 8:5 which refers to the son of man and connects it as a messianic psalm. Hebrews 2:6-8 makes it quite clear that all things are put in subjection under His (Jesus') feet. The only person that could be referring to is Jesus, not mankind. Is it the Christian system that's wrong? Or have you simply found a person's teachings to allow you to shape God in your own imaginings? I ask you because this man is leading people to hell, and you don't want to be on his train.
@@esq8 hell is a man made 'place' used to make humans afraid enough to obey the rules of those who want power over them in the earthly life. It keeps them in line. Other methods used across the ages are threats of a painful death, excommunication, judgements of heresy, exiling, torture, throwing people in jail etc. Hell doesn't exist. But it's ok if you believe in it. It's entirely your choice to believe in whatever you want, just as it is other people's choice to do the same. You will find out after death that hell is not real. Meanwhile warning others they are on the path to hell if they believe in something you don't believe in is unpleasant, if not deliberately cruel. Best not to go down the route of cruelty but instead embrace love and kindness to all regardless of their choices.
@Agus Suga When you die, you will discover a vortex waiting to lead you into hell with a magnetic pull, straight to the centre of the earth. There, demons will torture you until the Day of Judgement, of which you will be thrown into the Lake of Fire if you do not have Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Believe the Book. It is there to warn you my friend. There is no life outside of the Source, the Alpha and Omega. Only fanciful thinking of autonomy and freedom to sin and ultimately death.

Sanaatan Dharma is much much older than 5000 years old. The latest work on dating the Rig Ved among Sanskrit scholars (I'm one of the translators working on this project) has been set at as far back as 22,000 BC and still fluid.
First of all a culture being old and A Soul being genuinelly saved from going to hell are totally different things don't put them together God is saving souls from hell not your culture or man made damn religion
Even a mountain of scientific evidence will not open a traditionally blinded intellect. This is human nature and not easy for humans to digest that yes let us be curious lest we miss out on something precious.

Hello Paul: Christian doctrine in our western societies has been carefully "edited" , & I believe , as you did as a boy or young man, that it was used primarily to control the population. I reached sixty years of age before I had enough interest to start to read regarding humanity's origins , which required that I also had to educate myself regarding religion's origins & controls. Your videos discussing both avenues are marvelous, & I very much appreciate the elucidation I have been exposed to. Thank you Sir, & please do carry on.

it was so obvious to me as a child that "church" has little to do with Jesus and his teachings. Now I have studied Buddhism for many years, this makes perfect sense to me. It has allowed me to return to Jesus, rather than "the church". When the Romans took up Christianity, it was to wrestle power for the Empire. I wonder if they had any idea at all that it would go on for so long. It was probably just a stop-gap at the time to deal with restive Hebrews. Read Hughes Montgomery about the twins. ISA & the one who went on the cross (or living tree to be more precise) are twins. Apparently ISA is what Bible called Judas, the betrayer as he was opposed to his twin who worked for Gods Unified in groups of 3 [Trimurti, Trinity]. He was the 1st to introduce the concept of absolute Supreme One from which all (including Gods) originate. It has no name,no start, no end. I am from India and hear that Nalanda University, was the first and only one in the world at that time. Great travellers from around the world lived and studied here including Jesus, Buddha himself and a Chinese traveller. The people under which Buddha found enlightenment is Bodhgaya close Nalanda University in Bihar.
I have also visited the Teksay Monestry in Ladakh where Jesus lived and studied for years.
is the Chinese traveler is Lao Tse ? He also wrote a book besides Dao De Jin as the Hua HU Jin and travelled West beyond the Chinese bounded.
I, being a doctor, have worked in Kashmir in various stints for almost 12-13 years. The locals used to tell me that Jesus actually survived the cross and was brought to Kashmir where he recuperated and lived for many years with Saint Shankaracharya. He was buried in Kashmir and his grave is kept a secret from the world as Vatican will loose it's significance.
I wonder which saint shankaracharya they were referring...the famous philosopher and father of Hinduism Adi Shanrayacharya lived in the 8th or 9th century...

My grandfather (a physician) used to say that the blood and water flowing was indicative of a man having a heart attack. But we know that heart attacks are survivable. And modern data is showing 1/5 of heart attack survivors experience NDEs. My hobby hypothesis is Jesus had a heart attack and an NDE. ☺️

Will you look into the stories of Native Americans (Iroquois 5 tribes) and some First Nations ( Nova Scotia & Eastern Canada) about the "Peacemaker" coming to them and teaching them . When the Europeans/British came to America Indians told them they already knew about the person/Jesus/ Peacemaker.

I find this so fascinating because there was one day I was riding my bike in the countryside when I Heard a voice in my right ear that said " look up now" when I looked up appeared the most beautiful cloud that looks so realistic and I knew immediately that it was Jesus he had his eyes his nose his mouth his face his beard and he even had a turban on I stood there and awe as this face smiled at me. People would not believe me when I told them that he had a turban on. But hearing this makes a lot of sense to me

Simply brilliant. I particularly resonated with the idea that the three wise men from the east were there to honour the reincarnation of a very special person, perhaps Buddha. They certainly were not there to recognise the King of the Jews.

Raised a Catholic, when in Colllege, I left the church, but never abandoned Jesus/Yeshua/Isa. Even after multiple psychedelic-fueled mystical experiences, his teachings, especially after learning about his relationship with the Magdalene and the other Marys still "held water.' I knew that I would never again call myself a Catholic, but I waited patiently for knowledge to blossom that I could live with and incorporate into my belief system, now spiced with Tantrism, Indigenous beliefs, Wiccan principles of the Divine Feminine, the Qabala, Hinduism, Buddhism--even beliefs from Islam. Thank you I was brought up Catholic and also had many questions which were just dismissed when I was young. I have a very open mind and find your presentations very informative and valid. Organised religion is still a method of controlling people and stiffling any self thought and enlightenment. I have always known there must be more to Jesus story and think he would be pleased with people who search for the truth
Extremely interesting and so makes so much more sense than traditional doctrine. I'm so happy you always asked "Why?" and spent a lifetime finding out and then sharing what you found. It's difficult to not be upset with the idea that much of my life of faith was likely based on a lie perpetuated by the church but Jesus was about forgiveness and divine or not, I prefer to follow his true teachings. When you say you prefer to follow Yeshua’s true teachings, does that mean that you adhere to his true teachings found in the Essene Humane Gospel (of the Christ) that were edited out of our bibles in the 3rd and 4th centurys by the catholic church?

I am not religious per se, but always believed there was a higher power. I read the bible when I was in my late teens and was always troubled by the reference to "serve". This is in all major religions.
We "serve". After discovering your channels and listening, and hearing these narratives, things that I 'felt', deep inside, but never shared for not wanting to sound crazy, now make sense.

Thank you Paul. I've always heard the stories of India and Eastern practices. The book of Matthew 6:22(ESV) says “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light." I've always thought that this was speaking of the third eye but I could be wrong.
Occult means hidden eye. Could it mean that if you can see what has been hidden with a healthy/whole outlook it is a way toward enlightenment and becoming a light being
Yes, I see it as referring to the spiritual eye as well. I thought the reference was “if your eye is single” Pointing towards singularity.
@@the.m.influence It does reference the "3rd" eye. It is also alluding to the singularity that comes from focusing (ones senses) within, rather than duality that is found externally. To see the inner light, not as an allegory but as a physical reality.

You are entirely correct, according to the legendary Guru Paramahansa Yogananda, who says that this Biblical reference is mirrored in Yoga practice wherein you focus the gaze and attention at the point between the eyebrows (Third Eye or Ajna Chakra). Long practice of this meditation technique produces light and feelings of peace and joy. Hence it was called by Buddhists who have a similar practice: Enlightenment.
As a child growing up in the Caribbean..of course our primary school were Catholic..its not thst i didn't believe in God or thought that they were trying to control me..i just didn't believe their teaching...And i always ask a lot of questions...

I read this book in 1988 and I believe every word written there without a shadow of a doubt.
We'll being a part of convent schooling and being from a dharmic hindu family have experienced both in synchronisation so I can say the teachings of Jesus is very similar to that of Lord Krishna's bhakti marg(devotional path) in B.G. and since B.G is summarised form of ancient Vedic texts so it's highly possible that Jesus might have been to India to attain spiritual knowledge as from ancient times India's the spiritual hub of the world and people from all over the world came here to get the answers of the life anyways Loved your work Sir.
The teaching of Paramahansa Yogananda (Autobiography of a Yogi) synthesizes what Christ taught and which the Bible records, and what Lord Krishna taught in the Bhagavad Gita to his disciple Arjuna. They both explain in beauty and clarity what the purpose of Life on Earth really is.
I look forward to your interview in the future, with the reincarnation of the soul being known as Jesus - my gut feeling is that J has already reincarnated again and will announce himself when the Big G says it's time.

After reading the book, I finally understand why Yeshua yelled out what he said just before he "gave up the ghost". Michael sheds a bright light on the whole savior/messiah issue. Like you, he's a good, thorough researcher I'm sure you will enjoy.

Hi, I read, listened , most books imply that he lived after the cross. Traveled the world, China, India, the America's, British, healing, teaching, etc.. more ancient books that he lived than died. God rose him up! Master Jesus is the son of God. God lives through him. As is mine. I was taught from priests that we reincarnate! I also read how they took him down and healed then left for India.

Honestly I never considered any of this before, even though I knew that some others had survived crucifixions. This series alone has provided great talking points with a good friend. Exciting to learn and discuss! I'd heard vaguely that Islamic faiths believed Jesus was a real person just not that he was the son of a deity. I had concluded, personally, that his ascension after death was being taken aboard a ship that took him into space. I'm inclined to think a bit of both happened, what you've gone over and him being taken into a ship. I mean, there are several other accounts in the New Testament where it seems Jesus has not only contact with people from space (the Angels) but when "Satan" takes him up and over great distances and taunts him saying basically "if I dropped you now, your God would just resurrect you, right?" In regards to your comparisons of Jesus with Buddha, Jesus also has striking similarities with Heracles, Thor, Maui, all adapted by region/culture and of course more popular versions re-told with biased by Roman-Catholic authorities to seem more fictional. I believe Jesus was known, or avatar-ed into, other cultures/lands. The friend I spoke to just as you uploaded this, we too were speaking of who the Wise Men could have been, and reincarnation. So many questions all brought up with a broader perspective to keep us busy This video really was so perfect for the timing, and a great way to end the day.

I loved this video! I, too, think this new version makes Jesus much more interesting. I have been contemplating the gospel of Thomas and going back to it for a few years now. If we believe, does not mean we know. In am open to all possibilities. The picture is big. Very big beyond our understanding. This is the most fascinating story of humanity, and it belongs to all of us. And becomes alive again if we allow it. There is no need for answers. Only bigger questions will lead to a more profound experience of our everyday Life on Earth.
Part of me feels this man survived the roman sentence. I feel it, in my cells, intuitively.
The equation is very very complex ( see: help of a soldier spearing his coastal rib letting air back in while passed unconscious, see Nicodemus intervention with a healing amalgamation of herbs after the body was layed, and how not to mention Jesus yogic practices that could result into an extraordinary capacity of holding energies in a certain way and recover quickly from the very damaged physical vessel). We do not know. We don't. But the above are possible and there are traces of it left behind.

I felt exactly the same way about Christianity (Catholic school) until I started to find out about the historical revolutionary figure, well travelled. So fascinating what happened during those missing 30 years that the Church glibly glosses over. Thanks for a great show, I hope there is more. This is an excellent series. I began wondering about Yeshua at a very early age because something didn't quite feel right to me about what the church was teaching, so over the years I asked to be shown, and at 15 years old God gave me a "born again" experience one night in a Lutheran church as I was confessing my sins. I was on my knees confessing and within a few minutes I felt His presence and it was all taken from me. I felt it happen, and immediately afterward the Holy Spirit descended upon me and I was in sheer bliss for two weeks. But even though I knew Yeshua was real I still had unanswered questions, and at 25 I was given a vision that told me in no uncertain terms that I was there with him during his ministry.. and I was also there at the "end" of his life. It was many years before I was given more information about that, but when it came it blew my mind.
In the interim I became a spiritual counselor and healer and I was doing a session with a woman in Illinois who told me that she'd had vivid memories of helping Mary Magdalene and especially helping her to escape to France. I'd a similar memory of helping Magdalene escape to a boat so we could get to France, and this woman's experiences of seeing herself running as Mary was holding her child as we ran to the boat to escape substantiated what I also remembered.
I also knew a 'Joseph' was with us, and up until today I thought it was Yeshua's father, but as I watched this video I realized it was actually Joseph of Arimathea. Some time after that session by the way I learned that we did get Mary to the coast of France, and I also learned that the only churches of Magdalene in the world exist on the southern coast of France and they are still there to this day. Was Yeshua with us? That I do not know yet, but I do know that it happened.
