    I was just in the hospital for 2 weeks, cancer related. I had emergency surgery. I never can sleep in the hospital. I stare at the ceiling. This time I put my phone in my bed with me. I turned on Hallow and said the Rosary and gospel readings with Jonathan. In 59 years of my life. I slept almost like a baby the entire time. (because they wake you up so much) Every night I would listen to the Sermon On The Mount and fall asleep. Be blessed all! Thank you for your beautiful work to get Jesus out there for everyone to behold.🕊💜

    As a mom of 2 boys in their 20's, I compare the hidden yrs of Jesus to the way of man. You guide them up to their teens then they will go, live life, experience things, more than likely, not attend Mass or dab into other religions. They find their personality in order to assist others as they go along their way. A mom prays for Mother Mary to intercede on our behalf that we may always be an example to them even when we are no longer at their sides. Jesus, in human form, experienced life. When we meet Him, we can ask and know 4 sure!

    I believe the quiet years of Jesus life were private years for his earthly family. It shows us the importance of family in all our lives. It was his time of loving and growth and obedience to his earthly. Parents. His work showed us the importance of labor in our lives as well. .

    • @ironymatt
      @ironymatt 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Excellent point. In these days of tell-all media saturation - social and otherwise - matters of privacy and intimacy seem an afterthought, if even thought of at all, and that is a severe blow to the modern human condition, esp in comparison to the no-filler gospel narrative.

      I heard from the Moslem Imams that their teaching said that Jesus, together with His cousin St John the Baptist, studied and trained under the husband of St. Elizabeth, our Blessed Mother's cousin. That the teachings were regarded as too radical, even to their contemporary Pharisees (Priests), thus they stayed in the mountains and caves to study. They went under the radar. I found it a very logical explanation for the silence.

I have known people who said they have a gift of premonition, but apparently, they were walking possessed so you have to be careful because fallen angels can deceive us by pretending that they are good angels. @@thesupernurse2023 That,s why The Flame of Love was given to us by the blessed Mother. A prayer that blinds satan. I pray it myself daily cause I know he,s very angry at me. I took a soul away from him that he had a hold of. I suggested to him/my husband that he needs to be baptist. Even though I,m Catholic and he was taking me there for me, he decided to go Catholic and first I said no no no first go to different Churches and make sure to pick one that you want not Catholic just because that,s my faith but when he would go with me, the priest at the time was very good at his sermons and he was not just a typical boring priest, he was a good teacher and our way of worshipping attracted my husband and he made his decision and got baptist Catholic, did first Holy Communion then got confirmed and picked Michael as his saint name all in one night. The service for new parishioners were in English spanish and vietnamese on Easter Eve. I picked Maria when I did mine. I didn,t know it was my grandmother's name and also my mom,s but she didn,t like that name and started going by the name Theresa cause it was her middle name but I think Maria is a pretty name and wish she had named me Maria but also if we want and it's legal I could always change my name if I want to but apparently I was named after some famous person in the hispanic world and that was special to her so I just stick with going by Patti. 👍🥕🐇✝️

However, I disagree about the miracles - I think he did do them but without anyone knowing it except maybe His mother. She clearly knew his power and his mission as he reveals to her at the wedding "what does that have to do with me and you, my hour has not come." So she knew what he meant and what he could do. I do like to imagine that Mary, Jesus and Joseph had the most marvelous of conversations at dinner time, on the Sabath, or even perhaps when they would see homeless people, orphans, widows, I imagine they spoke about these things and lent a hand but not to the point of standing out as so unusual that they draw attention to themselves.

That the way that a boy would show his knowledge was to respond to a question with a question. That puts a different light on Him asking questions of the scribes and Pharisees in the Temple.

    Very informative, helpful discussion from Father and The Guys. The fact that we are not given a lot of details about Jesus' teen and early adult years teaches us something important as well. We do, however, know more than we think. That those years were not "eventful" tells us that the life of the Holy Family was not, in any public, conspicuous way, very remarkable. That means they led fairly normal lives, and we know from historians and archaeologists, a lot about those times and everyday life. We also know what was going on in Israel, surrounding lands, and Rome. That context is extremely helpful for me.

    Jesus's words "why were you looking For me? Did you not know I would be in my father's house." If you think about Jesus as the son of God, these are very poignant words. But I love that it also makes them sound like a typical teenager. I have a lot of nephew's, And I could just see them being baffled as to why their parents were looking for them. Like duh didn't you know I'd The here?

    Listening to you, it occurred to me that Jesus' question is also directed to us. "Why were you searching for me?". It gives one pause to consider the route of life. How many turn to drugs, alcohol or illicit sexuality? We're all searching for God. Pax.

    It's nice seeing all this analysing. Interesting!
    But all I feel, is that God let us know what we all need to know through the Bible. Which is enough I think according to HIS Will!
    Speculation could lead to uncalled problems! Why try to know what we are not supposed to know!
    Amen!

    Great show and sense of humour. Only thing i would like to add and have thought this for a while. In an era where the lines between private life and public life are so blurred, with people showing their homes on TikTok etcetc, i think the hidden life is a more relevant, positive message in and of itself. That the hidden life of a loving family is not for public consumption, that then finds its public expression when we leave our homes and go out into the world. Particularly loved the guys ripping into the Gnostic gospel, by contrasting it to Jesus' humility. Keep up the good work guys.

    I live in So Cal. About 17 years ago, while attending one of my children’s confirmation “ Parent’s Night” meetings ( to give us an opportunity to see listen in on one of the teacher’s classes), my son and I were listening to similar story. One stuck in my mind ever since. Jesus was playing with clay by a stream, molding the clay into little birds. Joseph appeared, scolding Jesus for playing on the sabbath. Jesus shook his head saying “ I’ve done nothing wrong and haven’t broken the sabbath.”, just as the little clay birds flew away ( as if to be rid of “ the evidence”). Everyone in the class chuckled, but it stills gives me an uneasy feeling to think there was an implied moment of Jesus being less than perfect.

    I suggest that Jesus had to keep his head down or risk premature assassination. So all these "bratty wizard" fairy stories are just that. Had he behaved as these stories claim, he would have drawn a lot of unwanted attention to himself.

    No ones wanted to talk about this:- in bible there's no mention of Jesus Christ enlighten or unknown years of Jesus Christ 10 years is missing in bible and the answer is he was in India. You know the teaching of bible and Gita is similar, the similarity reason behind it is simple he was here in India and learn all veds, sastra and stay in monasteries, accrue knowledge from gurus he collects lots of knowledge but bible don't wanted to mention that. Disciple of Christina called Jesus (pure soul).

    My reflection: when Jesus asked His parents, "Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?"....As the beginning of Jesus public life, at that earthly temple, He was already sharing the mystery that He later said of leaving His apostles and being missed by them....for He will be in His Father's House preparing rooms for them.

    • @josephzammit8483
      @josephzammit8483 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well said! You can choose any event from Jesus' life and consider it as a mystery for your Rosary. The official mysteries are there for congregations. Privately, you can change mysteries from time to time. I’m publishing a weekly TH-cam video on episodes from the life of Don Bosco, entitled ST JOHN BOSCO by JOE ZAMMIT. In this series I’m narrating events and miracles from the splendid life of Don Bosco. St John Bosco used to perform a miracle almost every day, through the intercession of Mary Help of Christians. From the lives of saints we can learn how to love God more and draw closer to him. Thank you.

    Also thinking about how out of place he may have seemed to other boys and young men his age. No girl chasing, and all that young man mistakes many make. He could have had his feeling hurt for being different. Perhaps. Lots of training for carpentry and rabi training. But the time to experience all of life is interesting.

Like in all societies some rebelled and did their own (wrong) things, otherwise prostitutes wouldn't have had clients, women wouldn't have been caught in adultery (that Bible story) and tax collectors wouldn't have stolen people's money(eg Zacharias).

    It’s very interesting that you mention the weight of the Cross. Padre Pio said his most painful wound was his shoulder wound and it’s also interesting that when Jim Caviezel was doing the scene where he carried the cross, it was accidentally dropped on his shoulder and he suffered a shoulder separation of the shoulder and it made me think that the same thing probably happened to Our Lord. I believe that Jesus also revealed to Saint Faustian and other Saints that this was his most painful wound. There is also the prayer to the shoulder wound of Jesus.
