The game changed when he krump da gitz'ed when he couldve just advance and charged. If he rerolled that 3 damage on his Deff instead, man its wild how 1 decision can ripple thru in this game
Combat patrol must have favorable matchups. Space wolves were easy as nids but orkz were extremely difficult. They have a real hard time with the boss, the deff dread and the coptas

I was playing as nids and the only strat I could come up with is, kill all the boys ASAP, always slow warboss with barbgaunts, try to stall the deff dred with psychophage or gants and just go for board control with your extremely fast units. The kopters are nice to kill but you'll probably be too busy running your units that can do it from the boss and dred

Losing the deff dread due to battle shock might’ve been clutch, but why was it battleshocked? Unless I’m mistaken, it has to be below half strength to start taking tests, & the dread was at 4 wounds out of 8, so not below half strength…

The rules commentary 1.1 says in the part "Affected by a Stratagem": "If a unit cannot be affected by one of your Stratagems (e.g. because it is Battle-shocked), you cannot target it with the Command Re-roll Stratagem or any of your other Stratagems. Note that the New Orders Stratagem targets an active Secondary Mission card rather than any units, so can always be used (assuming you have the CP to do so) even if all units from your army are Battle-shocked."
