Veggie are at the top of all progressive rock. They leave eberybody behind them by having such an intense singer and lyrics that go to the essential subjects: human condition, despair, solitude, love, in a way never told in a song before. Add to that the craziness of the shows with different set lists every night or different running order( we are far from the humdrum of Genesis or GG) . There was 3 kinds of shows with them: disaster, regular and magical. I saw 2 of them: disastrous and magical. Vdgg were totally present to THAT NIGHT HERE AND NOW. Just the set list would reflect that, the rest were influence by the day, the hall and the country! Even the late KC didn’t go so far b cause beside their eternal improvisations they had mainly the same set list after Muir left. But Vdgg from 75 to 78 played so many different songs with 3 different bands! The last gigs at the Marquee just being phenomenal with Jackson added to cello and violin. From prof to punk prog! What a journey! What a genius band… after it’s another story that has nothing to do with the 70’s !
thnks very much for the post a real find for the season

you are not a real proghead if you don't have gentle giant, vdgg and magma in your collection. the rest are just pretenders.
Your mom has Van Der Graaf Generator in her collection
December of 75 was the divorce of PH.
I not sure if they were married at all though...
