@@sandman5088 hopefully they don’t tie the DEF system in too heavily. On other modern diesel vehicles if there’s a problem with the DEF system it limits the speed to 4mph...total BS

I have many of these vehicles and when I clicked and started watching I said "I can do that" and within seconds and even more so as the video progressed I was forced to say "Well that not happening". Impeccable build that I would like to see in one of mine.
Amazing craftsmanship! If you ever found a way to sell these consoles as a kit where somebody could buy it from you and install it themselves you would have an amazing product. I would absolutely love this in my 02 f250, it has the captain chairs so pretty much the same set up shown here. I would definitely order one of these.
I love my 2001 excursion will never get rid of it, I used to do this 30 years ago and you know how good the job was done by seeing the added fuse box, that’s what makes a pro.
Gage Cockerham diesel or gas?
It has the gas v10 it has been a great motor but I wanted the diesel but couldn’t find one, but with four kids it is great.

Regarding the turn signals and the cameras. I have that same alpine. Only when I’m in reverse and click my turn signal will the view come up on display. It doesnt do this while in drive or park etc. any idea why this is????
Excursions are a "dime a dozen these days" ? Maybe for rusty gas jobs. An 05 diesel in good shape will still cost you a few bucks.

An 05 with diesel isn't worth buying....get the V10 or be prepared to see your "new" truck with the 6.NO in the shop more than your driveway.
Like most vehicles its hit or miss on quality. I have owned my 05 diesel excursion for 6 years (200K on the clock) and have had no problems, even with heavy towing. The only thing I did when I bought it was install a coolant filter. Your're right though, others have certainly not been so lucky.
@@mikel3162 no it's not. The 6.0 was a rushed design with many flaws as a whole. Now depending upon how you drive and care for it sometimes you get lucky and have very few issues. That coolant filter probably helped prolong the egr coolers life span and it also tells me you most likely take extra good care of your truck. That being said, I have worked on, with, and around more 6.0 powerchokes than most people will ever see.....they aren't worth buying unless you plan to throw a ton more money into them. They can and are turned into reliable, decent fuel efficiency engines but you just shouldn't have to do that kind of modifications to a factory engine to make it reliable.

Don't know where you have been but 4x4 under 100k miles 6 0 or 7.3 go from 18k to 26k 4x4
Evn the 6.8 undr 100k you will be pressd to fing under 17k 4x4
@@knuckleuprambo well first off he was quoting the video poster. Secondly I would hate to buy a vehicle in your area, around here a 99-06 excursion with V10 gasser is around 7k at the DEALER..... Craigslist they go for between 3-5k with 100,000 miles on them. The diesels do get pricy though, 7-12k on Craigslist and all over the board at a dealer. Those are all rust free Arizona trucks btw......

It's nice to see a console that has contours rather than the ubiquitous vinyl-wrapped MDF box. I would really have liked some info about the construction technique. Maybe that was later in the video, I got bored with hearing about LEDs and went to do other things. I like the design, couldn't care less about the tech.

Any chevy express van builds you can upload? Looking for a solution for my "console-less" van. My main problem is that it has to be removable because the access to the engine is from inside and I need to service my truck like every 3 to 4 months.

Sir, I have to say you are one talented individual! That is an amazing build that anyone would love. To steal a line from the Big Lebowski, The center console really tied the truck together. I would dig getting something like that in my 2002 F250, but not that elaborate. Really great workmanship and design.

Brake controller replaced power port and air horn on aux 1. If you ever needed either you know that's the wrong place to mount those. Otherwise, great setup.

I was also wondering about that. Mine got all angry about a kenwood head unit. But id say this is powered up off a power supply directly off a battery, just a hot key on wire to power theyre added fuse panel i really hope that CB is a direct conection to 12 volt and not ifnition keyed. Other wise the interference will diminish the radios capabilities
@@n1uk214 The Generic Electric Module in Ford Vehicles from 1997-2003.5 were extremely sensative to voltage drops, and spikes. So any add on accessory that is not incorporated within the GEM have the potential to make your day a living hell.
Oh i know. I replaced on from water damage and one just stopped work. I knew when i came out for work and all my windows were down. I can only guess it was from a cd player install a few days before. But i cant figure he just slapped these "mods" in with out properly regulators. The one thing i wonder about is all those LED with out resistors causing the transmission to not lock up
@@n1uk214 Good Ole Cheap Windshield Urethane. 97-02 Expeditions, F Series, & Excursion had water find its way down the A pillar behind the Windshield's gasket to where the A pillar meets the Cowl the water would channel to a small, where it would drip drip drip directly onto the GEM & Portions of the LAYERED Fuse Box. UGH Very Familiar with this issue too.
Brake controller is too far away to hit the override if needed but everything is is spot on. Damn, I guess I am that guy.

The 99-05+ Expedition consoles fit well and almost look factory. Much more useful than the stock Bronco console.
