    I've been in old iron and lead mines here in Iowa/Minnesota but never seen an old copper mine. Stunning.

      Your find that a lot of the iron mines absorb a lot of your lighting.
      We have a couple small ones and even the best of torches provides much light.
      Hope all is well across the pond 👍🏼

      @cornishxplora yeah I agree. One particular mine in Wisconsin was dug by native Americans several hundred years ago.
      Loving your videos. Definitely subbed.

    Must be thousands of tons of copper still under Cornwall waiting to be found

    • @cornishxplora
      @cornishxplora  ปีที่แล้ว

      Tens of Thousands of tons.
      There’s copper mines out there we still can’t access the full depths off due to flooding

    Wow, great video, what a spot! Is this fairly accessible or are ropes required? I’m just starting climbing in hopes of visiting places like this in Cornwall, this is definitely top of the list. If you ever need an apprentice for the day, especially here, let me know! :) I’m a professional photographer/videographer so could always help with the filming in exchange

    • @cornishxplora
      @cornishxplora  ปีที่แล้ว

      This mine is very well protected and on private land, there’s no access with out the correct permission.
      There’s plenty to see around cornwall, if you want more info message me via Insta

      Roughly 150ft from surface

    • @Dwendele
      @Dwendele 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Isn't it amazing how you can walk 150 ft (the width of an American football field) outside and it's literally nothing, but go crawling down a really old mine on rickety ladders and it seems like miles!

    • @cornishxplora
      @cornishxplora  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, no I don’t have one. But I know others that I know use them. Most of the mines have been monitored by other explorers. Here in Cornwall we are exposed to high radiation in some mines due to high granite content. Thanks for your comment 👍🏼😊

    • @adamkevern8764
      @adamkevern8764 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, but it might pay to get one. And it could be interesting also. There are metalliferous mines in SW , south terras st Austell,. Which have had reading of 7m bq/m-3. A uranium adit tho. This is a CT scan dose for a hour. I've probably had more ionising rad than you tho because of CT scans. I have a reader at home and it's accurate because it knows when it is windy,as the numbers go down. Any way good luck. You have a great hobby. And It would be interesting to do what you do. But the majority don't.

    • @cornishxplora
      @cornishxplora  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@adamkevern8764 I will look at investing in one. South Terras is one of the worst. I know people that have been down there and their clothes have been reading high even driving home and had to be thrown away. If keen for explores with people so if your ever about

    • @adamkevern8764
      @adamkevern8764 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Are you inviting me down S Terres in search for the uranium adit. So I can get the equivalent rad as a CT scan for 1 hour exposure, I might pass on that one mate. But if you mentioned the elephant foot at chenoble I could be interested

    • @adamkevern8764
      @adamkevern8764 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well you need to read up on south Terres st Austell, uranium adits . there's plenty on the net. You might have to decontaminate your phone after the reading tho.
