It wasn't animé that introduced me to the Universal Century, but rather, it was a film-based game from the original PlayStation days: Char's Counterattack. Building Bandai’s RG Nu Gundam is sort of a reunion with this handsome Mobile Suit, and also a way to relive those gaming moments back when I was 6 and didn't know better than calling it with a "V.”
Newest to the process is sanding and panel lining, and took up the vast majority of the 54 hours of footage. Compared to the 18 hours with Zoids Liger Zero, one can correctly infer that they're the ones which tripled production time. I had every intention of making them more prominent in the video, but along the way, I saw how they disrupt the momentum of the edit, and so decided to just merely sprinkle them about. I didn't get to track my editing time, but I estimate it to be somewhere around 50-100 hours (vs 36 hours with Liger Zero).
Coming from a place of revisiting my childhood, I am naturally inclined to keep the Nu as it is. But @Studio G comes from a place of potential, and his drive is to see what else the Nu can be. So do yourself a favor and watch his awesome custom build: • CUSTOM BUILD GUNPLA | ...

This is late but If anyone was wondering in the end he wrote in baybayin which is a pre-Hispanic Philippine script. In tagalog it translates to “Bilang pag paalala kae Eman Nimides” and in english “In remembrance of Emman Nimedez.” Emman Nimedez was a Philippine youtuber who died battling cancer.

@@pharmit24 oo i hope ya had a blast making that kit! Although just abit of a heads up early rgs like the rx78 or the zakus tend to loosen up alot though if you don’t really changed the pose your kits that much it wont be that much of a problem
Also i highly recommend the hg moon gundam its a solid kit plus it comes with a stand

Watching this video 2 years later and I just want to say a huge thank you. This video is what kick-started my gunpla journey with my own RG Nu. Last week I just completed my very first resin kit. Now I'm starting the YujiaoLand NU Gundam resin kit and coming full circle. I've come along way since then. Thank you.
This is my 2nd time watching GunPla building (the 1st vid was from Adam!), and the editing here is absolutely mesmerizing.

nice touch with colouring in the lines on the plates. building my first gunpla in the near future and this has shown me some things I can do to make it really pop.

No seriously unless you have a god hand you should clean the nubs with a hobby knife and/or sanding paper
NicoNicoKMS that’s what i do and the one time i used sandpaper it came out horrible, at least i panel line and use the decals (yea all of them)
I do use sand papers and markers, but I don't know how to use stickers, guess I'm a noob
To be fair, anybody just starting out would either google or ask their hobby store to help them get the right stuff. That's what I did. Bought one cheap Gundam to try it out, and all the stuff I needed to build it ended up costing more than the Gundam itself.
And then there's some people that just cut with nipper and ignore the nub. I'm just too lazy

Awesome vid! Never knew Gunpla ASMR was a thing.
Couple beginners tips to make decals more fun:
1. Ignore the sticker ones in the box, and buy some waterslides.
2. Instead of doing them all at the end, apply them piecemeal style. Finished the chest? Add its decals. Finished an arm? Add the decals. This method helps maintain the flow that's so important to Gunpla building, and makes it feel more like a fun addition, and less like a chore. (Also, for those who suffer from leg, arm, or weapon fatigue, try applying the same mindset to building).

Although it was really hard to pose, (some pieces were too tight, others were too loose, like the right leg falling off all the time) I thought it was really fun, and I recommend this kit for your next video! Without question, this is one of the very best videos I've seen on TH-cam in a very long time. Yes I have built Gundams in the past but I knew this was going to be absolute genius from about the twenty second mark. Building is fun and seeing the finished product when you're finished is always satisfying. I can only imagine how painstaking this must have been to shoot and edit but the final result is a video I think you could show to ANYONE and they would appreciate the dedication and skill while also finding something new every time they watch it. This is simply phenomenal.

Problem with me is that I dont have any space to display my gunplas. Last model i built was a HG Heavyarms custom endless watlz back in 2018 before i left to work abroad. I only finished a new one 2 weeks ago which was a HG AGE-3 Orbital.

I started doing model kits a few weeks ago because it just got my attention on a store and thinking about getting my own. It's really satisfying building it and in the end of the day all the work will pay off. Now I'm into it so much that I already have 4 model kits completed. And what's weird that this pop up in my recommend and I never look up videos of model kits built.
