Would you agree that starting out as an appointment setter is a great way to build confidence and learn the skill required to eventually transition to being a sales rep or a “closer”?
100%. That is the route I took myself. I owe a lot of success to my days being a setter then transitioning to a closer role. You will have to feel that within yourself. I tend to say aim high and if that means trying a closer position, so be it... to see if you pull through or not. Best scenario you pull through and is in a good place. Worst thing is you realize you need more confidence and repetitions, go for setting positions.
Hello thank you i gave 16 years in timeshare sales and are looking to do remote closing - could you advise me on how to connect to companies that higher for this please
Hi, great video. How would you suggest a 17 yr old guy(me) to get into sales. I am genuinely very passionate, curious and interested into sales, and willing to work totally for free just in order to gain experience and most importantly, knowledge. How did you learn sales? Was there some exact way, like, paid trainings/coachings/masterminds/courses/books all that + practice or just by practice ?
Hey, I will suggest that working for free is not the right move. Trainings/ coachings/ masterminds/ courses/ books.. all of these things are great but the more important experience is to find a company with good leadership and learn from/ with them. That's how I improved the most. And when you are in a role, then the books/ additional sales coaching really helps as you have the company's script together with your own real conversations with prospects to reference and relisten to. So find a good reputable company, land the role and soak in all the training - coaching programs and masterminds are just extras imo. I landed a role at 18/19 with no experience and what they taught me then is still what I use today. You can send me a message on instagram if you want more advice, books, masterminds, coaching as such as I've done quite a few programs in high ticket sales.
Where did you get youre first job? I want to start this aswell but im not sure weher to look. Reddit? Upwork? Fiverr? i also dont have any prior experience, it seems like companies only want to hire people how have already been doing this for 2+ years, and i cant even blame them for it...
I joined communities and networked. Met one person that was willing to introduce me to a sales manager of a tech company, interviewed and hired with no prior experience. The sales manager now is a real good friend, he told me a year later why he hired me was because I'm calm under pressure. Startups/ companies at $100-300k/mo, usually 5-6 sales people from my experience have prioritized personal traits over paper experience. If you are too "overqualified" they suspect you wont stick around for long and will jump at the next best opportunity. There are companies out there, FB, LinkedIn, IG and its all about how you present yourself and carry a conversation
@@f.ernestovasquezg7083 you can start with researching the people who are domaniting the industry. In sales look for profiles that appeal for sales people, you do not necessary need to join paid groups, more often than not they will all have a free group where you can interact and engage
They do. What's important that many employers worry about is accent and internet connection. If you have a strong accent it will be harder to put your name in the hat for certain companies. Find companies that hire internationally, there are companies that prefer to hire from UK, US, AUS, CA etc. (english speaking countries), ignore them and keep looking for those open to hire where you are located. Just make sure that you properly show that you are willing to work, able to work and can perform the work they are requiring you to do and you have a good chance of succeeding
At its core Yes. If YOU are happy with $4-6k a month, its allowing you to live good, and you want to use the time left to do whatever you want maybe start a new hobby, by all means do it. I have weeks ive made $4k working full time. You might be able to find a part time role and reach that range. Will depend hugely where you are located and what decent means regards to that location.
@@vaidiksinghdevda1334 yeah. When I said depend on country I was referring to living cost. For someone in example, Washington DC, who needs to make minimum $8k-10k a month to even get by it'd be harder to make a "decent living". In Sweden where I live a decent living is around $3k-4k. Assuming you live in India, the living cost is way lower than the US, UK, Sweden, earning a decent living doing this remote from India is definitely possible and easier to transition full time.
