Do you have any video for fully remote saas sales jobs as every job person has to be based in the USA?
Congratz on the move Trent! I've thought about moving to Austin many times.
Thanks Shane - message or email me if I can be of assistance - I remember were traveling & working abroad last time we spoke - Austin has been better than I ever expected
O k
Awesome video Trent!!
MAX let's goooo
Great as always Trent! Starting my Course Careers journey today!
So excited for you! LEt's gooooo
Im so stoked to go to college for this!!
I’d love to get into software sales.
Home improvement sales is amazing and pays bank! $200k/yr is average where I’m at in SEA. 👍 Newbies do $150k/yr average their first year.
Another gem, thanks Trent.
You can also make over six figures in insurance sales, Medicare insurance for example.
Yes most definitely
Great video, I'm in Car Sales industry, with some years of cold calling experience years back in tech/cloud based products. I'm enjoying what I do but there is no way I can make 100k or more as a sales executive (at least at this main dealer where I am :D), I'm looking for a next step. Saas, properties? Would't SaaS paid off earlier?
Great vid, Trent. If your company has no upward mobility opportunities, is it feasible to go from SDR to AE at another company or do companies require prior AE experience when hitting AEs?
A lot require prior AE experience due to closing, I finally just got promoted to AE and that was something they harped on big. But like he said it depends from job to job. I do hybrid tech sales, so they are a little more serious about closing and bringing in revenue
If your company does not provide that upward mobility to promote to AE from SDR, go find a role elsewhere to promote
great share@@dot8531
Gotcha; thanks! @@dot8531
Gorgeous day in Austin!
so nice at the pool
@@TrentDresselon the 44th floor
Trent, could you make a video of the differences between an SDR and Sales Engineer. Currently stumped between both options.
SDR is better paying
Great video
Seeking tech sales career advice:
I'm a junior data engineer pondering a shift to tech sales. Friends and colleagues think I've got what it takes. But I'm torn. Is it wise to invest more time in data engineering for stability? Then I could explore sales roles later. My main worry is hitting 30 soon. Still, I believe the right opportunity is worth the wait. Your thoughts are welcome.
Would you advise getting post secondary education before getting into sales? I extremely dislike school but I just heard you mention about your college at the start of the video.
100% no. Most sales people don’t have any college.
The only thing that would have made this video better would have been doing a canon ball in the pool at the end lol
might have to add that into part 2
I’m an Enterprise Account Executive in Telecomm Sales. My resume doesn’t translate over to SaaS unfortunately and I keep getting denied. Which entry level position should I be applying for?
If you have years of closing exp as it sounds like, go find AE role at great SaaS company, you are qualified
Dear Sir,
I am working in pharmaceutical sales since 5 year want to switch in saas sale . Are my experience will consider . Please suggest me how should i start . I have done MBA IN MARKETING
Hey Trent,
Love your videos. I’m currently trying to break into Saas sales coming from 5 years of being a sales manager/account manager in water appliances. Don’t have a degree yet but have the experience and definitely the ambition. Should I be looking at an AE position? Any advice on getting around not having my degree at the moment?
prob SDR bc you can go to the best companies, you will be limited as AE
working in the telecommunication sales field had a 170k for top performers
I am a tech developer and solopreneur for 18 years.
Can u elaborate ?
@@efexzium I am a tech entrepreneur now into image editing. Used to freelance but gave that up.
With a masters degree in chemistry, do you think I could do pharmaceutical or medical device sales? Traveling all the time is not a problem for me and I like talking to people and going to conferences. I do really dislike cold calling though. 😅
Yes! I have a degree in biology and that’s what I do. But you need to network to get a job it’s kind of a good old boy network unless you get lucky.
Hey Trent, If the company I work at requires me to work the entire pipeline from start to finish (prospecting, qualifying, closing) is that good enough experience to hop to an AE role at a larger company?
yes 100%
What industry are you in bro?
Dear sir,
How can i switch abroad from India for teck sales job
Life Insurance
I have about 10 years of telecom sales experience in retail, from part time sales rep up to sales manager at my store and training my team. Lots of customer service and love twch, and currently a realtor tho i havent sold much. What position should i be aiming for to get into tech sales?
either senior SDR role at top tech company or AE role at mid-tier tech company given this context
@TrentDressel thank you for responding so quickly! I appreciate it! Got any recommendations off the top of your head for either of those, and if you don't mind explaining more of the difference between those two positions and why you say those positions would be best, and why one is for top tech and the other for mid tier? I'm in SoCal for context :)
Bro I need a sales representative for my web design services@@Masterramy447

One day I want to be like you.
What about financial sales, like selling stocks or ETFs at a JP Morgan or Goldman Sachs or Fidelity or Schwab?
I think there is def money to be made there, if I were to work in finance, it would be as investment banker / investor, not sales rep at the company
whats your feedback for people that sell for YELP? I just started but got offered to work as a regional sales rep to sell food processing equipment and medical equipment. whats your thoughts?
go with what you are most interested in
Hey Trent, I am 23 years old and have been doing construction for the last 3 years. I’m not happy with my job and I want to try to get into sales. I have no experience in sales, but i know i have what it takes. i’m considering taking the course career class. I’m just not entirely sure where i should start. What should be my first step?
if tech sales is your objective, then you can start applying, probably won't work, coursecareers exists to give you a fighting chance, don't wait to star the free intro course: coursecareers.com/a/tech , on side note, procore is a cool SaaS company to look into
Use your construction knowledge to go into home improvement sales - you’d be perfect and make BANK!
What's your take on D2D sales like solar/pest/alarm? loved the vid!!!
fine job, not a great career. you don't want to have to walk around like that to make sales
Hey appreciate the feedback! yeah i'm in solar rn and i think i joined the bandwagon a little late as the industry is going down hill and im killing myself trying to make it work to the income i desire by even knocking in the rain, and it just seems futile @@TrentDressel
@@TrentDresselWhat if you’re in a closer position and the company gives you leads and appointments?
@TrentDressel i killed my body for 2 years doing door to door. I learned a ton though. I got really good at it and now I'm a flooring consultant I sell floors which can be a pretty high ticket. The biggest contract I sold was $40,000
Home improvement sales is amazing and pays bank! $200k/yr is average where I’m at in SEA. 👍 Newbies do $150k/yr average their first year.
Hey Trent, I'm a 30 year old self employed personal trainer, and I'm looking to make a change. I didn't get my degree, but I've worked in the medical field. Do you think I'd be able to get a sales job that payed well? Would you happen to have any general recommendations?
Yes you can land job
I need a sales representative for my web design services can you do it ?
Financial sales is another big one. Especially mortgage or insurance sales.
You are right about that
Mortgage sales is 100% commission.
Problem is rates go high, business goes down and layoffs happen.
I need some advice. I’ve been in auto sales for the last 3 years and I’m tired of it. I love selling - building rapport with people, using my product knowledge to make a recommendation and help people solve their problems. But, I’m just sick of the car industry. The problem is that I feel trapped. I’ve tried a couple times to do something else and I either couldn’t get out or it was a shitty Solar startup and I keep coming back. I’m now at DriveTime making $50k salary plus monthly bonus, but I really want to do something else. Any advice would be much appreciated.
if you want something else, go do something else
Do our have any opinions on R&D tax credits?
Not at the moment
🔥🔥🔥
Let's gooo!
How about credit repair services?
I think there are better products to sell
Nice house bro damn!
shared apartment amenities but yes very nice
How do you get into tech sales with no college or university degree ?
coursecareers.com/a/tech
I want to find a career. Thats my goal. I dont have aales experience. I have a little customer service experience. Do i need a college degree to be successful at sales? Where would be a good place to start?
don't need a degree
Don’t need a degree for sales generally but to break into tech sales you do if you don’t have the right connections
Hey I need a sales representative for my web design services would you like to do it ?
@@dwtricks5269 Would you be able to show me proof of your claim?
Do I need a collage education to get into solar sales?

You forgot Yacht Sales! 😊
How does one even get into yacht sales?

I just seen a short video pop up on TH-cam that women are not making the money they should be making in Tech .
Pharma ❤ i love drugs. 😊
How does one get into pharma sales?
@chrishustles94 back ground in sales is a must even if you are selling phone plans. Background in chem/bio is a bonus. Apply everywhere. Talk to as many recruiters as possible. Line up the interviews. Prepare for the interviews watch youtube videos on how to. Over prepare. Have 30 60 90 day plans. Get the job.
in the family business and youre making your money selling a course on how to do sales. makes me think your advise isnt based in experience and success. sounds like you needed to find a way to make money because you couldnt sell anything but the easiest most desirable thing, a better financial future. this video is just listing industries that everyone is already aware of and exploring. dont mean to be hateful but this is capital P Phony
First again 😂😂😂
You are the record holder - un-contested
“They have a progressive environment” we all know what that means. No thank you.
$140k is not a ton of money. I’m a ironworker Superintendent most of us make $200k+ running work
I’m 39 with a bachelors degree and I make $18 per hour as a security guard … jealous?!
Nobody cares what you make, $140k might be a lot for other people
@@Patrick-ey7hu also, it’s funny he’s comparing what he makes with a breast implant sales woman hahahaha
Hows your back 😂
Online it says ironworkers make 50-80 and superintendents make 80 - 120. Either you’re full of it and lying or you’re just unaware and ungrateful of how good you have it for your line of work.
Do you have kids?
No
Stop up-talking/up-speaking.
what does this mean
@@TrentDressel It’s the tendency to end a declarative sentence (or a clause in a sentence) with a rising inflection. You intend to make a statement; but, the rising pitch makes it sound more like a question. Your content is fantastic, limit this one thing, it takes practice, and I personally believe it will greatly improve your connection with your audience when you speak. Reversing up-talk/speak is an absolute must in public speaking, I learned this through public speaking courses. I subscribed as well! I really like your channel.
Long ass arms
bro get in the gym and get into insurance sales, start your own agency and the sky is the limit, very consistent and also able to grow an agency and then sell it for 10x your gross income. Meaning if u get to a million a year u could sell it for 10 million when you decide to retire. Also completley remote, so you can live anywhere
That outcome does sound interesting
So how will you develop contacts if working remotely?
Have you done this? Looking into this myself.
hey man i’m 18 and live in austin I was wondering if i could reach out to u and ask u some questions. i really would like to get into sales and make some real money. Sorry for the comment but i couldnet find another way to contact you 😂😂
