      I'm with you Robert. I just found this, and I'm praying it helps (it seems to have slightly relieved some pressure so far).
      Orthopedic surgeon said:
      1.) "You have these, a,b,c,d.... problems/subluxations, etc";
      2.) "It's just a minor thing";
      [and in response to how aweful I'd been feeling since the past injury(s) which started it all]:
      3.) "You'll never feel like you did when you were 15 again" (I was 19 at the time); and
      4.) "I'll recommend a psychiatrist..."
      oh I almost forgot:
      5.) "Don't ever use a chiropractor!"
      This was at a big spine care center in Dallas.
      The only short periods of relief I've ever had have been a result of the few short packages of chiropractor visits I could afford and exercises I have lerned from them.
      There was a while there when I might have hit that guy for delaying my actual treatment with such a blatant, reactive response, refusing to elaborate on why he felt that way, ie. "I don't feel the risks are worth the results I believe to be placebo in nature", etc...Instead practically scolding me for even mentioning the word, Chiropractor. I paid him alot of money through my last month's of insurance before the ACA finally banned the only insurance policy I could afford. ....scaring me away from using that insurance for any other trestments, and costing me years of my life...
      I thank this man for posting this video, however. I really could never express the appreciation I have towards people like this who truly want to help and don't just settle for you surviving with the discomfort (since it's you and not them feeling it).
      Thanks again Mr MotivationalDoc
      And best wishes to all of you guys here.

    Oh, Doctor Mandell, you are a gift to this world. I can’t believe how much mobility I have in my neck right after performing this. I’ve always wanted upper cervical chiropractic work, as I believe many of my problems stem from it, but am not in a position to afford it at the moment. I will be doing this, along with your massage techniques, for my tmj/tinnitus and vertigo. Thank you, from my heart.

    I have been struggling with vertigo, tinnitus, headaches, vision problems and the anxiety that comes from it all for over a year now. I've had lots of testing done to try to get to the bottom of why it's all happening, only to get no real answers. I have come across these videos before but never really watched them. They occasionally appear in my feeds on social media sites, so I figured I would give these excercises a try. I really hope that they help because all the problems that I'm having are getting to be too much to bear at times, and I just want my life to be normal again!

    • @laurlee4992

      You need to see an upper cervical Chiro, there is a tool they use to tap the atlas back in place with a special tool. Ask around. It takes many visits to get the muscle to hold in place after the adjustments.

    Well, I have viewed several of your videos and now have subscribed as I feel that, at last, I might be able to get back to feeling myself again. I am 70 years old and about 1 1/2 years ago I started to feel unbalanced. I have been to several doctors including ENT's and have had three MRI's. And, this feeling has gotten worse as time has gone on. I realized a few months ago that my posture, while sitting at my desk, that I do a lot of, was very bad and I am now working changing that. I still suffer from the unbalanced feeling and pain in the neck region, but with the improved posture and your exercises, I have some hope again. Thanks for the inspiration.

    • @ACIDGREENTECHNO
      @ACIDGREENTECHNO 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      check if you maybe have an eagle syndrome. this mimics atlas axis problems... and unbalanced feeling

    • @conradsanford5853
      @conradsanford5853 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I did as you suggested, Acidgreen, and my research indicates that Eagle Syndrome is more associated with the jaw and I have no issues in that area. I truly am of the impression that most of my issues are from my very bad posture while sitting at my desk and that I am correcting.

    • @ACIDGREENTECHNO
      @ACIDGREENTECHNO 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      ok to get a clearer picture you can check the optg x-ray with your dentist. check this pic www.livingwitheagle.org/uploads/ben_eagle/original/1X/9b5f23441504741db9da9a23135ec7234aaadfef.jpg no its not only the jaw, this stuff can irritate different structures as nerves, blood vessels and muscles sometimes all sometimes only one of it. the first step to clear it out is the optg x-ray. hopefully you dont have it but it should be cleared out because there is a muscle that is "connected" to the atlas axis complex, its the musculus digastricus. after its cleared out i would check out all other options eg meridian thai massage balancing. they know what they are doing. chiropractics in this region only after correct x-rays or CT. let a good physio therapist (they are better than most docs) check your full body - posture.
      cheers

    • @conradsanford5853
      @conradsanford5853 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for the input. I have an appointment with my dentist next month and will discuss the possibility of Eagle Syndrome and the OPTG x-ray. I know I have a posture issue with head forward and I am working on that. The Eagle Syndrome concept may be part of it also and I will check that out as well.

    • @ACIDGREENTECHNO
      @ACIDGREENTECHNO 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      hopefully he knows what it is... most docs dont know this thematic.

I think my Dr might not specialize in cervical adjustment or cervical care because he never tells me what I could do outside of adjustments to help myself but you give these free insights. thank you very much for your kind heart. And showing God's love to people like me who are looking for answers when it comes to cervical spine challenges.

    Hi, Dr Mandell. It’s the first time I try this particular exercise and two others of yours and it’s amazing how helpful they are to relieve my neck pain. Impressive. On this one, I couldn’t feel the first and second vertebrates, yet only doing the stretch without pressing them, made a huge difference for my pain.

    Hi. Im 32 years old and I have minimal dorsal , medial disc hernia c5-c6 , already 2 years. I have pain every day. Its better but nothing really helps for a long time. The most popular pop up pain comes from caring groceries and its always pain afterwords in the right neck muscle which connects to the head. Im trying to do some streching at home and your videos are my life savers. Now I did atlas steching and its like getting present on Xmas eve. It helps. Thank u so much for sharing your skills. Greetings from Sweden.

    Im 24, and have lumbar scoliosis from what as far as they know 13 either born with it or through puberty and I think I damaged my atlas and/or axis whilst at work not bending my knees whilst loading a heavy glass tray into a awkwardly positioned washer and turning my neck to talk to a customer I heard the whole side crunch. The hospital told me it was all in my head whilst I was convinced I had done something to my nerves immediately afterwards I was even throwing my arm into ice to stop the pain and loss of co-ordination. Since then Ive been plagued since by shoulder, jaw, neck and inner ear problems on one side and knee, ankle and hip pain the other. Im not lying your videos have actually saved my life ive contempated suicide from the pain because its been constant and these techniques for adjusting are amazing. I can already feel such a difference I actually cant believe it im so glad I came across your channel. Thank you so, so, so much!

Since surgery my neck has greatly improved but it is still tight and a little cranky. I did just a coulple of these stretches and it's an immediate improvement. I know that it will now be part of my stretching routine!

  • @concert_rat1004

    I think this helped! I used a telescoping pole trimmer for several hours last week, with the pole fully extended for several hours. I was holding it up over my head and craning my neck, looking straight up, while trying to get to the high branches on a row of oaks. Ever since, my ‘neck bolt’ feels like it’s too tight and I have burning tension in my neck and a headache that feels like broken glass from the base of my skull to right behind my eyeballs. There’s pressure in my head, too. I saw my chiropractor 3 days ago, but that didn’t fix it. I tried some of your ‘atlas only’ techniques, but they didn’t help, so I’m convinced I also have a problem with my axis, since I’ve gotten a bit of relief from this exercise. Thank you so much for all you do!

  • @VillyPhil

    Did the stretch while watching this sitting down and heard little cracks, don't know if that's good but I liked it. Did the stretch while laying my upper back on an exercise ball and letting my head hang and felt deeper cracks where the cervical and thoracic spine connect and loved it.

    Nice, that really helped me figure out how to palpate for the Atlas, and to my surprise, it was a bit tender; most of the time for me, my neck is so tight, and has such adhesions, that it feels a bit numb, and like nothing really works, but with this, it actually helped me feel the landmarks more, and the muscles surrounding.

    Hey doc, hey that lighted up board is amazing that's really cool. I have trouble with my Atlas a lot when I go to see the chiropractor they'll tell me that it's stuck they have a hard time adjusting it I'll be trying this exercise I've been watching your videos for many years now. Thanks for all you do

    Wow! What a great light board of the spine. My wife sleeps with her head innearly a 90 degree angle she has many of the issues that you explained when pushing the c1-c6 light board buttons.

    I've had physical therapy (PT) for this area and it did not make any difference. I will try these new techniques from the video. Even though I have an ergonomic work station I know that this area bothers me from sitting at a computer all day. I get up and move around every 15 minutes, but I can't stand and work for too long due to a lower body disability. Every day I experience headaches in the lower part of the back of my head, and I have tightness and pain in my shoulders and back. I've had multiple PT sessions for these issues and I work out on a regular basis, yet the pain still exists. Now I'm taking meds for the pain, and I want to get off them asap. I've also had MRI's and despite some degenerative areas everything else was normal.

    When you pushed on the 5th - my issue is supposed to be C6 and C7 - I feel nerve pain from my neck to my baby fingers - I get shocks in both wrists when I grab things and manipulate them - when I bend the wrists I get shocks - It has been 18 years and they can't fix it - Each new doctor I get does a nerve conduction test - I have had 6 of those painful tests. They give me grip strength tests. They have no clue. I know it isn't my wrists but my neck and workman's comp would not address my neck. Oh - I got 2 carpel tunnel releases - which made it worse...weaker.

    Dr Mandell, you do amazing work, with amazing videos. Some of the exercises are really helpful. However, you focus mostly on the cervical region. Do you know any exercises that can improve function in the 5th vertebrae, also in the middle of the spine between the shoulder blades? These affect, like you said, the neck glands and the stomach, respectively. Please, this would be very useful.
