  • In this video I fit the seat covers on the rear seats. These were purchased from an Australian online mini parts seller who import them from Newton Commercial.

The plier is called a hog ring plier I used to sell this in the 70s for a company called Bostitch in the UK which is now owned by Stanley I know you will have finished but others may be interested to know about the plier
You are one of the few showing this on the web I have really enjoyed watching as I am coming up to doing mine

Thanks Timothy. I did struggle using a normal pair of pliers, thanks for the info.

They are called hog rings they are readily available and cheap. The tool you use is called hogging pliers and they are cheap and available as well.

I purchased them from Minisport.com.au The price of the covers was slightly less than buying from Newton Commercial directly (because of international postage). However, it would be more cost effective to buy any seat foam and front seat rubber/springs etc from Newton directly. Keep in mind that Newton Commercial make seat covers to order so there will be a delay of 6 weeks, whereas minisport.com.au had the items in stock.
