My dad introduced me to this music. He's the kind of guy who likes to listen to weird electronic music. At first I thought it was just okay, but now I love it.
I get those nostalgic "Shpongle feelings" from this album...Simon Posford & Raja jam, I cant actually describe how big the impact your music has on me, and surely so many others. Thanks
Really epic stuff. What can you say? Shpongle are in a realm of their own. No one else even comes close. Exceptional. I think the word "genius" is certainly in order! (-:
But, did the jellyfish jump up the mountain? .... Yes of course it did!. Shpongle has always been a big inspiration to my own original psybient music and this is simply another masterpiece by Simon and Raja. I am certainly looking forward to receiving the album (on CD).
I really liked this as opposed to a lot of the comments. It isn't an instant favorite for sure, certainly no "Nothing is Something Worth Doing", but it's definitely Shpongley and if this ends up being an average song on the album and not the best then I am pretty psyched.
It was interesting but I cant be hyped about this one though. I would say average, liked the middle part around 6 minutes when the weirdness started thats when I knew that this is "proper" Shpongle song :D
not that I don't enjoy this track but I do hope that the rest of the album is a little bit less conformative to the regular formula. this track is nice and very shpongley but I do hope they have more diversity and experimental tracks, like star shpongled banner.
i am sure i will enjoy this new upcoming album, but i have to say, they are using all the known sounds from previous albums. i dont mean to disrespect but, it is time to spice it a little bit with the new samples...alltough, this is only one track on the album
I wonder what kind of fucked up stuff these physicists smoke when they write their String Theory. “The ekpyrotic process begins far in the indefinite past with a pair of flat empty branes sitting parallel to each other in a warped five-dimensional space. . . . The two branes, which form the walls of the fifth dimension, could have popped out of nothingness as a quantum fluctuation in the even more distant past and then drifted apart.” 😑
first two albums were the best imo, especially the first one. to me it feels like they had more organic progression of each element throughout every track back then, in contrast with this which feels a little bit more like introducing an idea and looping it a few times, then introducing the next idea. still has excellent production quality and shpongle-y vibe, but for me it has less of that organic feeling of development throughout the track which went a long way to making each element feel truly alive.
it sounds almost like old classical shpongle, but not really kool and deep enough as it was at the beginning.. also engineering not that perfect.. drums are to quiet , bassline extremely loud and too high, not deep low enought.. sounds flat for me. also here is no psychedelics anymore.......... looks like shpongle need some mushrooms
