Shpongle went so hard on this album, it just has the most complex and mesmerizing rhythms, melodies, and sonic textures.

Yes it feels like they wanted it to be more than music this time. The way how they make their songs sound more beautiful and aggressive here than in their other albums makes it some kind of a distinctive work. Like they didn't put a real person on that album cover by acident. That's the lifestyle and values they represent and that's what they are ready to defend.

I'm gonna kind of disagree with that opinion. Shpongle's great, no doubt; they blew my mind back in the day with the first album. Then the 2nd one.. then that 3rd album, whoa.
For me, nothing after the 3rd album comes close. There's some good tracks here and there. I even saw Simon DJ for this album in Portland before I even heard it. Not my favorite show, not my favorite album. I like this track a lot. @2:19 is the best.
But for me, much of the magic was used up in those first 3. Feels forced now. I never considered purchasing anything after the 3rd. The 3rd, the 3rd, the 3rd,I know. Trip is over. Go home.

@carbilicon I would agree that their 3rd album was their peak in terms of creativity and song structure, and it's my favorite Shpongle Album. But their 4th (this one) was still really good, it's my 2nd favorite album, and I think there were certain aspects such as mixing/mastering and sound design (debatable) where it's superior, and I like that they took on a more aggressive tone. But in terms of the overall world music on DMT jazz fusion mind bending sound they're famous for, they were past their peak here and this was the beginning of the end. Every album I've heard since has sounded progressively safer and more restrained.

Well even back in the sixties people were experimenting that's what influence them to write such good music. I think of drugs being more man-made. Plants are God made. Just a shame where the pyramid meets the eye has to have dominion over Middle-earth isn't it? It's called ancestral nomadic roaming the lands like in the video game Skyrim perfect example of how we used to live. Barbaric Savages man beasts

going deep into music on LSD is something you have to experience. The music sync perfectly with everything around you and it is beyond my capacity to explain it.
