      Don't tease me. I'm likely getting one this week. How is the rack? I think I may use full boom stands with clamp mounts for stability.

      @@darylllanier2591 The rack is great. You need a good sized area to spread it out. I think I'm going to try the layout in this video. Looks like a nice compact setup. When I start playing out with this though I think I'm going to try the boom stands with clamp mounts route though for travelling purposes. This will also allow me to leave the rack setup in my basement and not have to dismantle it each time.

    I've been playing the Strike Pro for 3 years with no issues, other than the ride cymbal being replaced (they sent me 2 replacements !). I had played a Roland & a DDrum kit for the previous 18 years and they didn't hold a candle to the realism and sound. I've done remote drumming for clients who thought I was playing an acoustic kit. If you're thinking of switching to electronic, or creating a hybrid kit for studio or live work, this should be high on your list. I noticed that Zak Starkey is playing a Roland on the latest Who tour, someone should really enlighten him to this baby, looks far better, imports your own samples, and has on-board FX...and sure as hell will hold up as well. Extraordinary value and Alesis has a fine support team...when they sent that replacement cymbal pad they included a new wiring harness (just in case it was the culprit). Happy Drumming !

    This is a great kit, for sure! The only change that Alesis should consider is the rack. It needs to be larger and much more stable. Especially at this price point!

    Have they fixed the snare and cymbal trigger issues? Do the triggers hold up after 500rs of play time?

    Position sensing, and real rim shots and I'd be sold. Also, an option to get a 10" tom instead of the 8".

    After installing this beautiful kit at home I ended up very dissapointing when I pluggen my headphones in… volume dramatically low!! Any tips or hints? Or is this all?

    • @RemmikRotus
      @RemmikRotus 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Get a power wireless headphones and you can dial up the gain more. It’s a safety feature as having drums in your ears for possibly hours at a time can be dangerous, even when not turned up to the point you probably want. Just do it short term like one or two songs then back to low. You don’t want to end up with constant ringing in the ears like I have. Sometimes it’s not distracting and other times it seems more distracting even though you can’t describe it a louder.

    • @RemmikRotus
      @RemmikRotus 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Like with all electronics mass produced, it can be hit or miss. Especially something you bang away on. There is not one set one can find that people are not complaining about reliability and customer service under warranty claims.

  • @robertkees6048
    @robertkees6048 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm having a lot of fun with my set for home use. But I will say this, after almost a year, the bass drum output died on the module. After a colossal effort and about 4 months they finally sent me a new module, but believe it or not, that module would not power up (it wasn't the power cord) and after more effort and time they sent me a third module, which thankfully is working without issue. But it does give me pause for concern moving forward in regards to the reliability and longevity of the unit. The only other issue that popped up that is driving me crazy is the 10 inch drum plays the rim sound unless I hit the drum exactly in the middle, it's about two inches and outside that it's the rim sound. Very annoying.

    I have built a studio in my garage. My acoustic drums are to loud. Can the volume of the Alesia drums be controlled? Can the be quieter than acoustic drums ?

    • @johndef5075
      @johndef5075 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The volume is controllable. Plus you can play through headphones. But there is always some noise from just physically striking the pads. When you are playing through an amp you need to play at a volume that overcomes that or it can be distracting. But its still quieter than my acoustic set either way.

      @@jimmyburke3727 Hey Jimmy. Ya, you can play it right out of the box. You need a few things tho. A throne, hi hat stand, kick pedal, headphones or speakers, and sticks. They do give you sticks but they are crap hahahaha.
      I purchased a bundle from Sweetwater that comes with 2 Alesis Stike 12s. They are essentially PA speakers. 2,000W a piece hahaha. I highly recommend them. I run live sound on the side and use them as my main PA speakers all the time. They sound GREAT! Pretty cheap too.

I'm thinking there's something to these kits and them not working properly cause it makes no sense how expensive these are and seeing these used EVERYWHERE for such a low price. Anybody have any answers?

    I bought A used set about a year ago have not been able to get the high hat or the symbols to work the way I want them to really frustrating so I went back to acoustic symbols and I'm not very happy with the set itself every once a while you're playing in the whole set goes ballistically loud for no reason at all frustrated and ready to throw it away

    This kit has been out for a long time now, when is Alesis going to upgrade it ? and make it even better and more dependable with less issues that I keep hearing about. or come out with an all new kit that is the new flagship that can compete with other top end drums. and maybe even blow Roland's VAD 706 kit away.

    • @homomorphic
      @homomorphic ปีที่แล้ว

      I think this is a big hit for them. They're likely focusing on squeezing all the costs out of production that they can, so they can make some moola.
      No doubt they are working on a next gen kit.

      This is why after 2 years of thinking about buying this kit I can never pull the trigger. It looks so good and sounds great but I can't justify buying a kit that's going to stop triggering properly.

    • @drummermike5150
      @drummermike5150 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@arsonne Just do it. You won't regret it. I've had mine for over a year and have had 0 (ZERO) issues with it. Who said it stopped triggering properly? Try for yourself, everyone has different expectations and playing ability that might work fine for an acoustic kit but need some adjustments for the nuances of an ekit. That is why I take all of the issues with a grain of salt. You'll never know until YOU try it out with your playing style. Reviews for the SE version of the Strike are overwhelmingly positive.

    Alesis DM10 has been the worst purchase of my life, what a terrible module and after that I lost the desire to buy Alesis products again, for me they have gone on the "black list" for life.
