Academic Pentathlon Success! Arborland Montessori

Arborland Montessori provides all 6th-8th grade students with the opportunity to compete at the Orange County Academic Pentathlon. Academic Pentathlon is an exciting five-event competition for grades six, seven, and eight. The Academic Pentathlon prepares students for success in college and careers by building 21st century skills in communication, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and character.
Under the guidance of an adult coach, teams of students prepare for competition in the subject areas of fine arts (art and music), literature (including essay analysis), math, science, and social science.
Arborland Montessori school is directed toward the application of the highest standard and interpretation of the Montessori method through the techniques and philosophy developed by Dr. Maria Montessori.
It is our belief that each child is a unique individual with his own special needs and background, and should be recognized as someone special. In order for the child to grow and learn, he must first feel safe, accepted, and competent in an environment that is encouraging, nurturing, supportive and challenging.
We serve children ages 3 months through 8th grade. Our main objective is to provide a carefully planned, stimulating environment which will help the child develop within himself the foundational habits, attitudes, skills and ideas which are essential for a lifetime of creative thinking and learning.
