Kudos to Anton for not karate chopping everybody to their collar bones for not letting a guy get through a few slides to save his life...

Hi...I hv a question. What we can see frm the sidescan is an angular view from top, rite? (That explain the 'shadow' of suspended object). But, its a very much different case for the downscan...i cant really understand what we are seeing on the downscan view...since the closest point of the sonar return is right on the middle, are we seeing the furthest point to the left and right of the beam? Ex; if on the middle of the beam there is a sunken tree, there are tyres on both side of the tree trunk...can we actually see those tyres in the downscan screen? Where would we see those tyres on the downscan screen?

Great presentation. Question please. Narrow vs wide. You mention that if u can run 2 frequencies run them both for best pickup. To run 2 frequencies does tht means u need 2 transducers??
I’m in the market to upgrade my sounders. Hearing a lot of good things abt the simrads. I fish 80% of the time in harbour up to 40m of water. 20% offshore and wanting to be able to read upto 500-700m depth. What best setup would u recommend?

Airmar B175 will work great for you in both depths.

Hi there, are you able to put up an image and how would you use side scan when looking for marlin? I imagine you wouldn’t be able to pick up the bottom, would this mean you zoom right out? And would the screen be black until something is marked?

Yes, you will see only black. If a Marlin hits the sidescan cone within working range then it can be displayed as bright mark but you will need a trained eye to catch those on the display.

Great info. Is there a transducer that will allow chirp on evo2 nss9. Thanks

    • @simrad-yachting
      @simrad-yachting  3 ปีที่แล้ว

The NSS Evo2 is single chirp, so you would need a chirp transducer like
TM150M or TM165H-W or SS175M, just to mention a few.

Hello i have a Garmin 7610 and i added the Evo3 simrad what transducer you recommend for the Evo3 that won't inter-fear with the Garmin M chirp 175 flush mount threw hull and a side scan (two transducers ) threw hull i have now .. I installed the evo 3 just to have the C-MOR maps.

If you want to keep it thruhull, you could consider the SS175HW or the SS275LHW.
For transom mount transducers, you could opt for TM165HW, TM185HW or TM275LHW

Hi guys. I’m going to be running a 3n1 transducer and a TM265LH at the same time with a NSS evo3s! Will it be able to handle the 265 in high chirp and the 3n1 in 200hz? Will they interfere with each other?
    Excellent presentation

      Thank you for the comment.
You will be able to use the two transducer at once, but you will need to use the S5100, ref. 000-13260-001

I'm hoping someone here could really help fix an issue I'm having. Apparently my Simrad GO12 with Active Imaging 3in1 is having a serious problem. Looking at 53:05. NONE of my downscan images look that clean and clear. Not to mention I'd never be able to make out the bus or the jet from the slide images presented. The black area (water column) on my unit is NEVER that clear and black looking. Using #2 palette the black area looks almost completely covered with brown speckles. There is so much speckled brown overlaid on the downscan image that you can't even pick out the fish or hardly the bottom. Using #3 palette is only slightly better. Maybe I have a faulty unit or transducer. The sidescan images starting at 1:02 look amazing. I have NEVER seen a image that clear on my unit, and I just purchased it new.

I have an evo 3s, can I run tm185m and tm165hw and have them both on my screen at the same time?

What transducer do you have? The new NSX series will offer you a 1kW Sonar output power
