Great introduction. However, it would be nice if your camera man would move the camera to your left side so when you are making changes on the screen we can actually see the whole screen. Your arm blocks most of it which at times makes it difficult to follow you and see the results of the changes you just made.

Good video to help describe and define some of the terms. However, I am hoping you will show something soon on how to use the new Zone Track feature.

My biggest issue right now with bird mode, and even in custom, is objects on the screen show up for a split second, then disappear on the next revolution of the radar. Why is this? It makes it impossible to use the radar efficiently.

Does this happen in all conditions? Please, send us a message on Facebook with a video and a full list of the devices on your network.

@@simrad-yachting will do! It happens in all conditions yes. And it’s not even rough when we go. Max 2 footers on a 27 foot boat. But even happens on a flat calm day.

In watching the numerous videos regarding bird mode lately (Garmin, Raymarine, and Simrad radar systems), many refer to the disappearing objects on the screen as birds diving in the water, feeding on baitfish. The radar cannot detect them once they enter the water so they are constantly disappearing and reappearing. I can't attest to this as I am still researching so I can buy my own system but hope this helps.

I have just installed a Halo 20+ radar dome and connected it to a Zeus3 MFD. The Zeus is connected via an NMEA 0183 to navigation data including a 10 Hz fast heading compass. The radar works but will not track MARPA targets. Chart radar overlay works fine. The Zeus publishes the heading data on its wifi network.
    The radar status screen says
    "Radar Overlay status OK"
"Target Tracking Status Heading not connected to radar"
    "Heading on radar No"
    "Heading on network Valid"
    "GPS on Network Valid"
    "Error codes None"
How can I get the Radar to see the heading data?
I assume it is meant to get it from the Zeus since it is its only connection.

We think there might be some source issue. Please make sure that compass source in the nmea2000 source selection is properly set as "zeus3 nmea0183". Please contact our support team at support@bandg.com

      If you mean System/Network/Sources/Compass , It is set to : Zeus3 9 NMEA0183 Port 1 [119628572]

So, is this the Halo20, the Halo20+, or the Halo24?
Ah yes, at 48:15, it shows "Halo24" on the Simrad.

Notice on the top left side, you do see the name of the radar, in this case the Halo24

What is that sine wave thing in the data bar? Is that a where am I in this tide cycle data element? I'm not able to find that on my B&G Zeus 9.

    • @davidjohnson2752
      @davidjohnson2752 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes, it's the tide data. I think it's exclusive to the NSS Evo3S at this time, but I could definitely be wrong.
