That's funny, first bike you silly rabbit! If this was your first bike chances are you would have some man made parts holding your body together. Ride one then comment,I guarantee you giggle like a school girl every-time you twist the throttle in sport mode.Trust me, I did and have owned or ridden every brand of bike with the exception of some over priced custom crap.Try the big one and start out in Eco Mode for a few blocks then go to sport and if you don't make a funny noise out loud, I'll send ya a heart monitor. ;)
James Hawkins might actually be saying that this bike appeals to him as a first bike and not saying it in a sarcastic way. A lot of people (myself included) who have never owned a motorcycle are attracted to the Zero because of its ease of use (no clutch/gears/transmission) and generally low maintenance as opposed to a traditional ICE bike. While it may violate the general wisdom I've heard from a lot of motorcycle owners to not spend a lot of money on your first bike, it seems reasonable in the case of these simply because the upfront cost will be diluted by the savings in TCO and removing some of the daunting elements of initially becoming a rider. Hope that makes sense.
Thanks Bros FOURR Speed, best coverage of the facts on the sr ZF so far. I loved the aerial shots and your clear voice, but you forgot to tell us if there is a tool kit under the seat. OOH!!! that's right there is no Maintenance LOL.
Unless you're getting on the autobahn or planning to use this on an actual race track, why are some of you so damn worried about killing yourselves doing over 100mph? (facepalm). I'd rather have a max speed of 80mph ( which most of the time i'd do 65 mph) and get at least 100 miles or more on a single charge.
At about 8 min in you say it gets better range in city due to stop and go with recharging. Wrong! It's WIND resistance at higher speeds that bleed off energy fast. At about 15-17mph wind and road friction are about equal in a bicycle (and I'm guessing motorcycles). After that wind is major factor and it not a smooth progression either, but steep energy curve. Regen works best on heavy vehicles with lots of batteries, regen on a motorcycle is better than nothing, but not great. You would actually get more distance coasting rather than using regen. I'm guessing if you went only 25mph you might almost double distance. But who wants a motorcycle to go that slow? By the way I really did like your review, didn't mean to be harsh. Good vid!
How about an app that would pipe various engine sounds to your ear buds synchronized with the accel and decel of the bike? Set up a selectable menu of various popular engine sounds.
Nice review. One correction: city mileage is better than highway mileage due to wind resistance at highway speeds, not the regeneration of the braking system. Wind resistance will kill your mileage on these things.
If range is your determining factor, then yes. I can name a few Ducatis with similar range that cost more. I'm pretty sure people do not buy a Ducati because of their awesome range. As always, YMMV.
It's pricey, but Its gone down lately. ICE bikes are still a lot cheaper up front, but this one costs a lot less to run and maintain, so after a few years of use, they're even.
1) A lot 2) No. You're paying a premium to be an early adopter. You might break even over the life of the bike with your savings on gas & maintenance. On a positive note, the phone app will track your savings for you.
Yes, you can. One of the fun parts about having gobs of torque available is that the bike works just fine with a passenger. The bike is set up for a passenger from the factory.
you can easily swap in a different ratio for the belt pulley if you want higher speeds. I have a 2011 XU that I remotored with a 20kw goldenmotor. I have the belt ratio set for a slower acceleration time, but much higher top end at 165
The Zero is quick but not fast, if that makes sense. It tops out at 102, but it gets there in quite the hurry. I dunno about you, but I don't do 102 all that much.
Really great review, man. Really appreciate the insights and your real-time reactions riding your first electric bike. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed this! Was a cool experience for sure!
The riding starts at 6:00...
Just bought one last week!!! Love it
That would be a great first bike. It's a bit pricey but I like it. I'm not a great fan of the super loud bikes anyways. Great review and great video!

The torque is exhilarating every time you start off or kick it. YOU SMILE EVERY TIME.

Good job! Thank you for showing a clear view of the instruments, controls and app.

I want to buy a used one I'm from Brazil how do I do it?
I have no idea! Try googling it or go to a local bike dealer if you have one. I really don't have any info on that!

G Philip C that would be lamé ...
This would be as useful as making your car whinny and neigh
so silent for other cars and pedestrians while you lose the advantage of being able to hear what's going on around you.

Very interesting, good point.
Brian Hepler regardless of the reasons , the range is still not good enough to justify the price.

You are making a review of the motorcycle and you didn't even know that much....
How so? I've owned a Zero for close to three years now.
Could I use it as my first bike?
I'm currently looking at the Lightning Electric bike.
Good luck with that. They're a lot more expensive than the Zero. $38K and up.
How to bye this byke in kolkata
Are u on laurens rd ?
Yeah, this dealer is right off that road.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed i live right down the street... BMW is next door
IS this good beginner bike?
you can get them in 11kW version which is = to a 125cc if thats any help
It is perfect. You can dial it down to anything you want
So for someone that is new to riding is this like a scooter you just turn the throttle to go?
Yea it's just the throttle, it's pretty cool to ride and has plenty of get up!
Great review thanks.
how much does it cost and is the cost comparable with ICE bike with similar specifications?
yeah it said it in the video.
It's pricey, but Its gone down lately. ICE bikes are still a lot cheaper up front, but this one costs a lot less to run and maintain, so after a few years of use, they're even.
1) A lot
2) No.

Motor and batteries are good for 300000 miles. Do the math
I like electric bikes for their simplicity but can it wake up the whole neighbourhood and show them who the fucking boss is?
Extreme Horsepower no haha its silent
😂👏🏻
Sit in your driveway and scream Vroom Vroom!!!
Professional job.
Would you be able to carry a passenger?
Yes, you can. One of the fun parts about having gobs of torque available is that the bike works just fine with a passenger. The bike is set up for a passenger from the factory.
1 question ? How much ?
bfy.tw/HSDN
Needs TC with all that power at the rear wheel.
The TC is located in the right wrist
👍💚
i'm waiting the nucbike
Coming to India baik zero
102 mph max ?? and I thought my R3 was slow
Trebor S do you have any idea how electric vehicles work? A tesla p100d will barely go 130mph but will beat a car that goes 270mph to 60

Check out the Lightning. It won likes peak by 20 seconds. Over 200hp. Over 200mph.

And yet will beat any sport bike off the line in sport mode.
Why don't introduce in indian big market.
:D
