    Good video. I've used the cheap syringe kits with good results. I just bought a similar kit to yours but aluminum instead of plastic. Hoping for similar results. Just a note, you can use a drop or two of resin after you have done your repair with the mylar sheet to fill in any surface blemishes.

Got same kit, but couldn't get the QR code to display the video url (using google authenticator). Great video, thnx again 👍

    Thanks. I saw an ad & i wanted to know if it would work for my little tiny dings & now i see that somebody probably already did this that's why they're tiny dings not cracks. So i definitely found what i came looking for & that's probably not worth my bother. My jeep looks like yours that fugly green color 🤗 i painted & i was like oh bc i realized on de inside of de door that de color i painted it was de original color 😂 but fugly green is good too bc it's a jeep meep beep then de paint washed off in de rain but only on 1 side so 1 side looks camouflage like i did it on purpose which is funny i think.

    Problem is that you drilled the center of the crack, so no pressure to force the glue into all the cracks. You'd been better off not drilling at all. Although drilling the end of the individual cracks - this is called stop drilling - can be done to keep the crack from getting larger.

    Do not tighten the initial tube with the silicone tip too tight onto the windshield! Totally made my crack worse from tightening it too much.

  • @socks2441
    @socks2441 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    10:30 you are supposed to undo the whole thing, not one at a time. undoing the smaller pressure thing first means you could have sucked the resin back out. which is fine if you are removing air bubbles and going to push more resin in again. but if its the final time its not ideal. probably doesnt matter though. also, its strange that repair didnt work better. using a hairdrier on the inside and just repeating the steps over and over gave good results for me.

    • @socks2441
      @socks2441 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      actually nah, it worked pretty good. also i dont know why they recommend the hair drier for stubborn repairs, or why it actually seems to work. as a cool windshield would contract the glass and open the crack more to allow resin in. so you would think a hot windshield would close the crack and stop resin getting in..

    you're supposed to put a couple of drops between the sheet and the windshield before you cure it. that fills the holes and the little dents and should cure flat...

    I bought the exact same product before watching your video. I have not used it yet. But your video is helpful. I think I am going to avoid using a glass drillbit and see how I do. This particular star chip we got happen shortly after replacing the entire windshield from another big crack. [son of a b***h!] So I’m hoping to not have to use a service.

    1. Am I wrong or is there a risk of damaging the work if you move the vehicle before curing is complete? (Flex stressing, for example).
    2. I have run into situations where I didn't have a smaller collet (drill bit holder). I managed to get away with wrapping a bit of tape around the bit to make up the difference.

    I'm glad I saw this before ordering since it is a crappy kit. Not sure why you would drill? I guess so you can find the repair spot when done. The plunger types seem to do a better job.
