    Best value for any roadster I know of. The Z4 M40i rocks. Totally. Solid performance (higher HP than what's published), beautiful finish, huge trunk space, amazing looks. Frosted grey with Magma leather seats and M seatbelts. I am not embarrassed to say that this car is more fun and way more practical than my BMW GSA bike on most days. Dealer demos are now available for mid $70s. Correctly stated, this car is more alike to the MB SL than the SLK, but not as pretentious and more practical.

      I certainly enjoyed my time driving this one. I had a chance to briefly drive the Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 when it first launched and this Z4 M40i offers a much better experience.

    You are a brave man driving that thing in convertible mode in -1 and snow 🥶

    I got the bank to lend me a Supra and I’m the 0.01% who will absolutely be driving it in the winter. I can’t wait 🥶

    I think I ended up with this exact car which is being reviewed. My driver side seat looks exactly like that LOL

      @PRNTestDrive  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh no! I hope not, but if you're who I think you are and you bought it from Performance BMW then perhaps. BMW Canada ends up selling these fleet vehicles to dealers after they've been around the block, I'm just surprised they didn't fix it first. They only gave it to me because they had nothing else, normally they wouldn't have let a car go out to a journalist with this kind of damage.

    Reminds of that movie; Lilo and Stitch. It totally looks like that alien!

      Haha! I really see it, I wonder if that's where BMW got their inspiration from 😂

    absolutely needs winter tires....my summer tires did not work on last snow day

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Winter tires are a must if you live anywhere with snow, especially so with a car like this that's designed for sporty driving and is only RWD. All-seasons are not going to cut it.

  • @sandyrgailr
    @sandyrgailr 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Thanks for the review. I especially appreciate your impressions of driving it in snow. Can you provide specs for the winter tires? Are they the tires that came on the BMW? I purchased mine with stock summer tires and at the time BMW did not even have a recommended winter tire. Thanks again.

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We had the winter tire specs (size & brand) at the start of the driving segment at the bottom left of the screen. BMW along with all the other manufacturers provide winter tires on their press cars, in BMW’s case they usually have older rims that fit with the size of the vehicle that they re-use. I believe these rims would come on the Z4 sDrive30i as default.

    Hello! I was deeply impressed by your review of the Z4.
    Although I’m a bit late since the video was posted, I have one question. I’m wondering if the 17-inch wheels are compatible with the M40i model, as I understand that the official minimum compatible wheel size for the M40i is 18 inches.
    If it's possible, I would also like to downsize to 17-inch wheels (even though the stock 19-inch wheels look great, I think they’re not very functional).
    Thank you!

      I believe the M-Sport brakes are too large to fit the smaller rims, which would be why BMW recommends 18s as the smallest.

    Fantastic review. Do you have air suspension on the one you demoed ?

    • @PRNTestDrive

      I don’t believe these come with air suspensions, just the M Sport one.

    To my eye it looks a lot better than the Supra, but looks are subjective . I like the more tradition look.

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Supra is just a little too strange for my taste.

    I will buy one in the future, in the U.S. I will buy the white color, cannot get over the prices for anything but white. Basically, I just want the base M40i, for cruising around Florida.

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm starting to see more of these on the road here, interestingly in white.

    I want to buy this m40i, but for the everyday drive. in our country winter is pretty snowy and I was curious whether you actually could drive this everyday at winter. Thank you!

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't have any issues with this in the winter, but we also had a really good set of snow tires which makes a huge difference. This wouldn't be a car I'd personally daily drive if I were still living in Quebec. Maybe now that I'm back in Ontario where we don't get as much snow, but the car will handle the weather pretty well.

    Where the tires description?

      It feels really expensive after driving the M4 cab which has a lot more going for it, but it seems to be priced well enough. If it survives will be another question though, Mercedes killing off the SLK/SLC could be a sign of a dying segment.

    Beautiful face so nice car. Awesome

  • @Marshal_Dunnik
    @Marshal_Dunnik 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That price is not too far off from what it would cost to buy not one not two but *three* Miatas.

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No kidding eh! If you want a roadster that performs well, handles great, and looks awesome, the Miata is the way to go. If you absolutely need to kill the 0-100km time in under 5 seconds and you need to have bells and whistles, then this seems to fit a segment for people.

      I think the Corvette technically fits more into the Grand Tourer segment, same size as the Mercedes SL roadster. But either way the new Corvette is going to be competition for basically any sports car out there, especially in North America.

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's either love or hate. The Z-Series has always been the odd-man-out in BMW's lineup. It's like the Mac Mini of BMW, never gets the attention but still out there getting updated once in a while.

    Its a lovely convertible car nice review fair power mate but I’d definitely take the supra over this ...

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      People seem to be pretty torn between the two, almost an even split between team Z4 and team Supra.

    Why do Canadians call it Zed? I mean I like you all but we say Zoo not Zedoo or Zebra not Zedebra or ....

    • @PaulPeavler
      @PaulPeavler 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      We also say water, not double-u-ater. The way a letter is pronounced doesn’t always relate to now it’s used in a word. Zed helps differentiate it from ‘c’, especially with certain accents.

    • @TomFota
      @TomFota 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So USA-centric! It's how the letter Z is pronounced in Canada, and elsewhere, like the U.K. It has no direct bearing as to how it's pronounced in a word. In fact, the letter "Z" is pronounced as "Zed" in almost every other English-speaking country EXCEPT for the US. Kind of like how almost the entire world uses the metric system EXCEPT for the US.

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  หลายเดือนก่อน

      If only the world revolved around the United States the way Americans believe it did.
