Thanks Car Doctor! After driving on a very rough road today I started getting a blinking check engine light and P0300 and P0200 codes and rough, loping idling and sluggish performance on my '03 suburban (185K miles). Having replaced the knock sensors a few times (another story!) which involves disconnecting the injector connectors (which isn't easy for those who've never done it), I suspected a problem with the connector wires after watching your video. My code checker couldn't tell me which cylinder so I physically examined and felt the wires, and sure enough, one literally broke off in my hand just like it did for you! Luckily it was the number one cylinder (front driver side) and easy to fix. $15 at NAPA plus a couple of water proof/crimp butt connectors and it was fixed - codes are gone and idles smooth again! Thanks again for a great video and helping me out.
Good job Tim. Don’t worry about mistakes, it’s an opportunity to learn and become a better mechanic. I made plenty of mistakes during my 40-year career as a aircraft mechanic and learning from them made me better. Keep up the good work. Hey, I spent 20-minutes looking for a 9/16” wrench and it was just where I put it. In my damn pocket-talk about forgetful......
Thank you. I got resistance in seven out of 8 injector clips. However, when I back-probed the wires, there was resistance in the wires. Damaged connector. About to overnight on Amazon. After personally changing engine, I think I find the reason for the misfire. I was about to get a new wire harness! Thank you so much!
Dude you don't know how much that helped..chasing a PO300 I have a broke Cam wire connectors..wondering if that's the PO 300 but gonna change the coils and plugs again just to be safe..
Out of all the videos I've seen this one has helped me out the most with the same problem I am having with my 07 silverado. Just want to drop you a line and say Thank You! Daniel Bross, Indianapolis, Ind.
Thanks for the video! My engine was running rough and I had the same two codes. Watched your video to get an idea where to start. Starting looking at my injector connectors and found a mouse had completely chewed through the wires on one injector!
I got an 0300 on my 02' Blazer Zr2.. I had just had a new coil, ICM, new Distributor w/ cap & rotor, plugs & wires. I lifted my Distributor Cap & had a ton of moisture inside! I dried it out & all is good
Thanks for that video i had po300 on a silverado 1500 2000.. and it helps your videos.. God bless you. Keep up with those wonderful videos.. from Mexicali Mexico...
Oh I see your vid of the VW with boost pressure fault where you were graphing pIds with the Verus. It's a little slow but I can't complain much about it. I hate updating cause I always need to buy additional keys to communicate with certain vehicles.
How would you go about troubleshooting the random multiple misfire, if the engine will suddenly snap out of it and run perfectly normal after a few minutes? It only does it when the engine isn't under a load, such as driving slowly in traffic from stop light to stop light. i get the flashing check engine light when it happens, and shortly after it snaps out of it the light goes out
I have same problem ,I actually thought my transmission was slipping it was so bad ,I finally scanned it found 5 codes 200-300-354-358-420 cleared them and all seems fine ?
great channel thanks. i have gmc 5.7 02 van. codes po200. po300. po301. over a year of gas smell rough idol. mainly worse when i hit reverse usualy dies. my certified mechanic gladly took my $560 for the spider injectors i didnt need. so so sick of the mech bs.
Hey bud can I please ask for help I have a couple issues. 2003 Cadillac Escalade 6.0 1. P0200 it came on in normal stop and go hot Vegas traffic. I drove it home cooled it down and checked wires and when I came back the light came off but this issue is on and off. 2. I got my Compressor dryer and condenser replaced on my truck as well and it only get cold cold while moving and will start to warm up if I sit longer than 15 mins. But as soon as I turn the ac off the truck will drop to operating temperature pretty quick. Even at night it will do this with the ac. I’m just bought this truck and I don’t want to make mistakes fixing it. Thank you for your time I really like your videos.
Good evening my friend! I have a (P0201 Injector Circuit Open Cylinder 1) code. What does this mean, Jumper the Fused B+ circuit and the ASD Relay Output circuit in the IPM?
I've parked my 2001 now for awhile because I cant figure out the p0300. Don't have a fancy scanner but will go check those connections and hopefully find something. Because everything else has been done
Ah don't worry about it Tim as nobody is perfect. The important thing is that you got it now. Nice tip about holding on to your data until you feel like you've got it fixed. Take care...
I have a 2006 silverado 2500hd with the 6.0 and it's been misfiring at around 70 mph on the turnpike I changed the spark plugs and wires and still doing it what do you think it could be or what should I check?
What if you have I have a 1998 C 1500 with a 4.3 po300 code only multiple misfires at idle is good when you give it any gas the motor is just twisting all around should I look at the harness to the injectors. Forgot to mention my 4.3 it has spider injectors on it
Hey Doc...i just replaced spider injectors on 2001 4.3 and its still running a little ruff... i have a PO200 and a PO341... i did replace the camshaft position sensor a week ago...

Great video. I got a question for ya. I went out to diagnose a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban the other day and it threw me the ole P0300 code along with the code for fuel system lean on Bank 1 and Bank 2. I got the guy to start her up and you could actually smell how rich the engine was running and very clearly tell there was a misfire. The guy had just bought it from someone who passed away and had NO maintenance records whatsoever. No info on last oil change, tune-up or anything. The current owner just changed the spark plugs but not the wires and the problem got worse. What would you say would be his possible solution. I'm thinking something fuel related like what happened to your suburban, but the misfire was so bad and it sounded like it was fighting to stay running.
Hard to say. MAF sensor, vacuum leak (intake duct, PCV hoses, intake manifold gaskets. Possible bad O2 sensor. Monitor fuel trims and look at MAF readings.
you owned it, didn't cry about it, learned and shared it with all of us! now go catch yourself some salmon. I lived in buffalo ny for a while. look up burt dam....nice steelhead. brown, and salmon fishing...
Ok I looked up Burt Dam. Found a video where some guys were accidentally snagging big salmon. They looked like king salmon to me. Maybe a huge steelhead. Looks like fun. We went out silver fishing last week but didn't find any. Lots of rock fish and halibut. But I will take your advise and get out and do some more fishing! Thanks for the great advise!
Hey i have an 06 gmc savanna with 6.0. Codes po200 and p0300. It keeps blowing the bank 2 fuse wich kills cylinders 2,4,6,8. I replaced the fuse and it idle smooth. I replaced the plugs and wires on that side. I checked all injectors for resistance on that side and all were about 14 ohms. I checked the wiring harness and it looked good. I then started the engine and reconnected the injector wire one at a time and fuse did not blow I then connected each coil wire one at a time while engine was running and got all hooked up with no blown fuse and running smooth. I thought well that must have fixed it so I let it run for 15 minutes and reved it up a few time and it was great. I started to pull out for a test ride and bam fuse blew and lost all four Cylinders on that side. I'm lost. What do I do now?
I have a 2001 Chevy 2500hd 2wd. Keeps popping up p0300 as pending then switches to a stored p0306 the truck has the 6.0L and you only feel a mis at idle and not under power. I've changed plugs moved wires and coil packs still same this and can't figure out the issue.
Hey a good video. You did a great job there. That plug end could of Brook after the suv left your shop. You never know what cars. Welcome back. I hope you had a great vacation.
i have this po 200 code and some other codes on a 2001 4.3 blazer... this 4.3 has a spider injector which i also replaced a couple of weeks back... maybe i need to remove spider injector connector and check again... have you ever had this issue in 4.3? thanks for all your great content you share...i am slowly but surely becoming a better mechanic ...
I have a 2015 Chevy Silverado 5.3l with misfire replaced spark plug an coil pack but not the wire code is p0206 injector circuit open, thoughts on what to do does it need to be a replaced or ???
probable a bad wire at injector or injector itself. A noid light would be helpful. Also looking at misfire monitors and identifying which cylinder is missing will aid in pinpointing the problem.
good work. the verus has so much potential check out scanner danner fo using the o scope with an amp clamp you will love it. a relative compression with show poor compression. keep the videos coming and don't stop.
Using a pressure transducer with the scope is super cool. I'm just too lazy to hook everything up most times. The amp clamp and volt meter is a great idea. I'll need to try that. Thanks for the feedback.
Usually, it's the module. If the coils don't fire on one coil, switch the coil with the other. If it fires now, replace the module. Use a timing light to check the wires. A Actron CP9680 checks live, record, graphing, transmission codes, emissions readiness test, ABS, SRS, oxygen sensor test, I/M tests, and MORE! It has code connect to diagnose codes. It uses 4 aaa batteries, not included, under the rear cover. EBAY has it. Get a USB cable from EBAY to update it. It retains test results for later review.
Having a p0300 on a 2000 silverado 5.3. misfires when more than 1/4 throttle is applied under load. Doesn't do it in park. I will check injector wiring but doesn't throw a code
So for a not hands on car guy like myself who is experiencing these codes. What should I tell my mechanic what I need replaced? Or if I take it to a shop and they do a diagnostic check, what should they be saying to me so that I know Im NOT getting screwed over? Please advise
what is the part called that broke off? I have this same truck throwing the same codes. they changed coil packs, wires, spark plugs, mas airflow sensor and still no luck.
I have a 1998 k 1500 silverado 5.7 and I just changed fuel pump and ever since it's been idling kinda high but today is the first day my car was running low rpms. I had the gas all the way to the floor and I was barley going anywhere. Drove it agian that same day and I didn't have any problems. Wondering what that is
I have also seen Injector Connector corrosion issues on the ford 5.4L 3v engine. Even my own SuperDuty had the issue, and I made a video of it. Use Dielectric grease when reassembling connector.
I have a 2008 Tahoe hybrid. The dealer spent maybe 40 minutes in the back and came back telling me my P0300 meant I needed a new engine and quoted me 10k! I have the exact same problems. P0300 when I bought it (as-is from an online dealer... yes, an idiot move) but it changed to p0305 after I changed all spark plugs. Changed wires and coil pack on cylinder 5 and problem has gotten worse over time. I now get violent sputtering when accelerating from a stop and the check engine light flashes constantly. When in reverse it won't go, then suddenly jerks backwards after letting it go by itself. My finances are in shambles and I wish I knew more about cars so I didn't get ripped off like this
Alright, I am getting the same P0200 code, but I am also getting a P0301 (Cyl. 1 misfire) on a 2006 Silverado 2WD with the 4.3L. Ground wires all look good, I swapped the plug/wire, still getting terrible idle and throwing the code. Any ideas?
The Car Doctor no way to check compression. Checked with ohm meter. Five injectors are reading 15-ohms, suspected bad injector reading ~59 ohms. That should confirm bad injector, right?
I need help and I hope the car doctor will help me out I bought this 2008 Chrysler town and country for 5000 and I think it's been sitting for awhile so when I drove it the van rode nice and then it started riding funny. so I decided to change all the wires and sparkplugs pcv valve air filter and the ignition coil. then the code p0303 came on so that was a bad fuel injector and now the code p0302 came on we change the wires and the plug and now the code p0300 is on so what do I have to do now somebody told me to change the crankshaft position sensor
i have a 99 suburban girls mom gave her, she had valve guide seals, new spider, intake replaced, has random stalling. replaced pump with known god pump because low pressure on mech. gauge threw a code for egr only.. stalled out again pulled fuel filter at the rail, crank key looked line tons of pressure, no start. i did a spritz of ether in the intake bam fired up then died. does sound like fuel starvation when it stalls. you punch gas pedal it ging gurgles and throttles backwards it seems, lol. has not thrown any other codes... bad ecu?
I had a stalling problem with my 01 Chevy Silverado 5.3 I replaced the purge valve canister and so far so good! Now I gotta fix p0300 code! Hence why I’m here
Well done Tim. Seems a lot of guys are buying the Autel without the scope for a great price compared to snap on . Not apples and apples but man there's a huge price difference. Did you look at the Autel ?
I just got a Launch Touch Pro and the new OTC Encore also. Let me tell ya the Encore is no joke for a $2000 tool. I am sure or at least rumor has it we may be seeing it in upcoming vids.
The Car Doctor Tim the snap on truck was at my friends shop and I went in and asked for the price on a new verus pro remote obd2 hookup ready--- $14,700 . No thanks LOL
Holy crud. Ouch. Yes mine was $12-13k with the cart it came in. On the positive side at least I can keep it as a lab scope and get a stand alone scanner.
To add to this I had a 03 avalanche p0200 code nothing wrong with injector harness or any broken wires blew the injector 1 15a fuse as soon as key was turned on traced it back to a faulty #3 coil
My aunts van has these same codes, her spider injector was replaced a few months ago, I’m betting the wires are bad also, gotta remove the dog house to get to it from inside the van lol
Alright so ive been trying to figire out why im getting codes p0455,p0400,p0654,p0650......plugs wires changed....2003 silverado 4.8l 120000miles roughly ive only owned for about a year and have no maintenance history...other than what I've had to fix any and all help would be greatly appreciated thank you and keep it up
I have a 2005 Chevy equinox 3.4 L engine all will drive I replaced the plugs and wires and one of the plugs blew out I guess I don’t know what happened I didn’t have it and I didn’t strip anything but now it’s missing I runs great when you start it runs great on the level but when you gotta go up a hill there’s a misfire and you could hear it I checked some returns to make sure I had a plug wires in the right place does anybody know how to help me please
Are you doing Tim my name is Henry I am from Atlanta I have a problem with my truck a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 4.3 two wheel drive I have a misfire oh my truck and po300 keep coming up I have changed the spark plug wires put the wires on there change the mass airflow sensor change to call back I want one of them I don't get everything I can so I'm trying to figure out what's going on my truck can you help me
What a shame :-(, but everyone makes mistakes, dont kick yourself for missing something. Its ok now and the customer will be happy :-D. The only common wiring breaks ive seen are on small hatchback cars, the wires to the tailgate go through a rubber gator, thats where they slowly snap strand by strand. Very common as the tail door is being operated a lot. Also the wiring from the normal doors to the body, they get a lot of bending in a lifetime, slowly snapping in the gator. Electric windows stop working commonly as the wire is bigger and stiffer insulation.
Yes, fatigue from movement is most common. These failure points are likely due to degraded insulation caused by heat fatigue. Then my guess is the copper wire oxidizes until it becomes an open circuit. Something to look for but as you say not as common. Thanks for the feedback and dropping in.
Why didnt you replace the whole harness there only 80 dollars, if one connector broke it obviously is worn out. It is what a 4 hour job to inspect injectors you might as well replace them and the harness. There ten years old. What is the year and make of the truck.
well I didnt have a good enough scanner fir diagnosis. took it to a garage they scanned and fixed it for 120 dollars. sure enough #3 fuel injectir wire.
Good display of humility, as commanded by Jesus. God Bless you my Brother!

You are a good man. Thanks you were extremely helpful. God bless you.
Thanks for the heads-up Tim! I have an '08 Suburban with that engine so I'll be sure to keep that in mind if it ever starts misfiring!
I think our extreme temp fluctuations may exacerbate these issues. Glad you enjoyed it. Take care.
Diagnostics are easy when it falls apart in your hands! Nice work

Believe it's called the connectir
I have a 1998 k 1500 silverado 5.7 and I just changed fuel pump and ever since it's been idling kinda high but today is the first day my car was running low rpms. I had the gas all the way to the floor and I was barley going anywhere. Drove it agian that same day and I didn't have any problems. Wondering what that is
Fuel filter?
My finances are in shambles and I wish I knew more about cars so I didn't get ripped off like this
did they do a compression test on #5? Maybe a clogged injector on 5 or lifter/pushrod issue. Hope you get it figured out
If you just replaced the plugs and wires , most times a cylinder misfire is the ignition coil; they cost about 57 $.
cool
Same codes on my 02 Suburban, going to check the wiring now, thanks.
Good luck!
That's why I like the wiggle test... will spot stuff like that! :)
indeed. That's what I did the last time it was in and didn't get a misfire. Then three days after I left town it took a dump.. haha. That figures.
The Car Doctor You were the straw that broke the Camel's back! LOL
Thanks sir helpful to me great information thanks for sharing
Alright, I am getting the same P0200 code, but I am also getting a P0301 (Cyl. 1 misfire) on a 2006 Silverado 2WD with the 4.3L. Ground wires all look good, I swapped the plug/wire, still getting terrible idle and throwing the code. Any ideas?
Check compression, check pulse to #1 injector and verify no vacuum leaks. Possible injector #1 cylinder
Hey Austin Chase, I cant ever respond to your comments on my videos. I don't know why that is. But its good seein you!
What are you putting the tester leads on?
i have a 99 suburban girls mom gave her, she had valve guide seals, new spider, intake replaced, has random stalling. replaced pump with known god pump because low pressure on mech. gauge threw a code for egr only.. stalled out again pulled fuel filter at the rail, crank key looked line tons of pressure, no start. i did a spritz of ether in the intake bam fired up then died. does sound like fuel starvation when it stalls. you punch gas pedal it ging gurgles and throttles backwards it seems, lol. has not thrown any other codes...
I see Eric O has one and I might have to take a closer look. Thanks for the reminder. I like saving money.
I just got a Launch Touch Pro and the new OTC Encore also. Let me tell ya the Encore is no joke for a $2000 tool. I am sure or at least rumor has it we may be seeing it in upcoming vids.
Oh cool, wasn't even aware of a new OTC tool. I'll have to watch for the vids. 2k is chump change for a decent scan tool.
Thank you 🙏🏻 bro
To add to this I had a 03 avalanche p0200 code nothing wrong with injector harness or any broken wires blew the injector 1 15a fuse as soon as key was turned on traced it back to a faulty #3 coil
Very good job college
Thanks
My aunts van has these same codes, her spider injector was replaced a few months ago, I’m betting the wires are bad also, gotta remove the dog house to get to it from inside the van lol
Good video Tim ! I have those same senior moments myself :)
Senior moments are getting more and more common these days. Haha. Good to know I'm not alone buddy. Take care and stay young at heart.

Don't be to hard on yourself. You were probably thinking about salmon fishing. LOL!
Good video!
Rick, you are likely correct! Fish on the brain has been the ruin of many men. Haha. Take it easy buddy.

Anybody ever tell you you look like the captain from deadliest catch I forgot his name and what boat been a few years since I watched the show
Great find
Thanks
Good video
What is the year and make of the truck.
well I didnt have a good enough scanner fir diagnosis. took it to a garage they scanned and fixed it for 120 dollars. sure enough #3 fuel injectir wire.
nice, that price seems reasonable. Thanks for watching
The Car Doctor łl
nice job Thanks
amp clamp the injector and volt test it together and you can see everything electrically. two channels .
Good call.
Amp clamp the injector and what?
comment utiliser un obd2 gmc 1500 1997th
good job
Thanks, I got lucky!
Sometimes ya get the bear and sometimes ya shoot em.

All the plastic on these engines my God ! I sure I'm done with chevy .
I figured out why ever one in the world orbits around uuuuuu! Cuss there being assimilated for higher intelligence and will be like uuuuuuuuu
I know this is an old listing, I have a 2002 Chevy 1500 with codes po102, po128, po140,po141 , po157 , po300 , and it is running very rich
Is there a question your asking here?
Could it be the fuel pressure regulator
We have changed spark plugs spark plug wires distributor distributor cap crankshaft sensor map sensor and I forget what else but it still doing it
It’s worth checking but you probably have more going on than that.
We’ve changed fuel pump too , any ideas what else it could be
The 1999 has the 5.7.
sorry dude but i know you cut those wires they were cut to the same length
They look broken not cut.
talking to much need more info instead
That's funny, my wife says I don't talk enough.
Same as mine
