So glad to see a horror game where what happened is what happened. Plot isn't inside the main characters head, character is not mad and is not hallucinating. Just a great story with high stakes that doesn't spiral into madness of "it was aaaall a dreeeeaaam"
Yeah I’m getting pretty sick of recovering lost memories or everything representing depression it’s got to the point that I’m genuinely shocked when it’s not the case
I never found the entire, "it was all just a hallucination" thing interesting at all. It's been overused over the years so much.
Yeah, Psychological Horror is grossly overused these days. Sometimes it's best to just stick with the classics...ghosts, monsters, evil cults, etc.
It was all a dream really only works in a few movies, like American psycho where it's like... But was it though? But when the final scene of the movie is a slow back out shot of the main characters eye in a coma or whatever than yeah. That's shit

What a strong idea for a story. They use a captured siren to crash ships and loot them legally because its on their property. But they have to feed it victims to keep it from dying, so they try to record the siren's music so they can do it any time they want. Someone pay these developers for the story and make this into a movie.

I have never heard of most of the games that you cover on you channel and i am 1000% sure i will never play these game (as i am terrified of horror games😅😅😅)...but the presentation and the storytelling is just so good that i just unconsciously click the video when i see them on my feed......love your videos man keep up the good work.

Thomas Evans is actually my ancestor! I didn't know the story regarding the Maid of Sker (the song btw, not this game lmao) and it's such a shame there isn't more on him and info on his tragic love story.
Who's Thomas Evans didn't watch past a couple minutes as I didn't want to spoil it. There's an Evans or Thomas that's the ancestor of every cymro but I assume it's family history that you have this down
Seems Thomas Evans found himself a Woman for you to be alive today. That's both awesome, and sad. 😢 If you're truly the descendant of Thomas Evans then it's awesome that his bloodline still lives on. But it's seems his bloodline wasn't with his loved one.
I love hearing folk takes and legends so to see games being made directly from them is a real treat to me, I think I will have to give this game a look

Oxhorn, HazmatTfw and Dark Lore Dash along with Gaming Harry have awesome voices.
Couple things:
Muses provided inspiration to artists. A Welsh hymn would make sense as what the Siren, or the artist, was inspired to write/sing by the Muse. They can't very well sign an Arabic hymn, right?
"The 4 chairs" is a musical reference, too. In Orchestra, the players of an instrument will be ranked by chair number, usually based on skill. 1st chair being the most skilled and whatever the last chair is being the least (I haven't seen more than 4th chair being advertised, but anything else is like 4th - Nth place at the Olympics. Sure, you might place 7th, but we only really care about 1st through 3rd.) This had the practical effect of creating more "tracks" for a given instrument using parts designed for the specific chair, which allowed greater complexity and grandeur. Now there are two numbering systems, one being the ranking, and one being the parts, like 1st clarinet part, 2nd clarinet part, 3rd clarinet part, etc... which we call "tracks" in modern recording (like the difference between an 8 track soundboard and a 64 track soundboard.)
I don't play horror games. So I rather just watch them and this channel is perfect.
i really love the mythology of this game, i feel like it isn't particularly difficult to guess the twist about elizabeth, i think anyone who's played a horror game before can tell you her story doesn't add up, but i think it is still interesting, and just that final scene seeing the creature under the hotel is so creepy! thanks for covering this game!
releasing a creature that eats people being the "good" ending is a rather odd choice

I'm glad there's a happy ending, feels like something that needs to happen more often in horror games after all the trauma the main character goes through.
There just are not enough of your videos out there. I've binged them all and still want more of your epic storytelling.

I like games that have some ties to local history. It’s like the games lore becomes an urban legend, you know?
Wild how the follow up to this game is to have a wave based shooter akin to Call of Duty zombies.
But story wise, it shows that the bad ending is the canonical one as Elizabeth has control while her daughter Arianwen opposes it. Having the player thwart any broadcasting to have the rest of the world descend into darkness.
It’s crazy to see that the bad ending is the Canon ending but there is some more questions like how many years have passend
So glad and pleased to see another video game use accurate display of creatures. This one being the siren! Sirens were bird women not mermaids

Came looking for this after Sker Ritual dropped. Interesting to see that such a lore heavy game produced a CoD-Zombies styled spin off. I recommend it, it's pretty good if not a bit buggy at the moment since it's just been released.
Watching this because of Sker ritual, that round based game got me really into the lore abraham gave me mr x vibes
Even if I play any of the games you discuss I rarely look into the lore so I enjoy watching these

I LOVE THIS GAME!!!! I thought I’d never see anyone make content about this game. I had so much fun playing this!
No lie, in addition to the Welsh and Greek mythology influences, I am reminded of the film made for the Professor Layton series. It's the melodies being played together that made me think of it. There are two prominent melodies in the film which can bring a legendary city back from under the water, and during the final battle, the titular professor discovers a third melody that is used to defeat Descolé, a prominent villain for the series.
Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva. It's a good movie if you're a fan of the Professor Layton games.

i think you should do a video on the game Draugen and Call of Cthulhu. the first one is a visually beautiful game. just as a warning, there are no running for your life, button mashing, ect. its more of a walk around and unpack the mystery type game.
Coming back to this after sker ritual dropped. Really hope you do a video on that one aswell. Could possibly collab with some zombie TH-camrs to capture the gameplay. Be nice to see

This is a great game well worth the price I got it for free because of Xbox gold and I love the unique breath holding mechanic but the regular price now is only 20 bucks I think? For an 8-10 hour horror game that feels fresh and unique? I highly recommend it

The practice of salvaging goods from wrecked ships, was called wrecking.
