This game has so much lore, it's almost criminal to not release a sequel or another game set in the same universe. It's perfectly scratching that dark-noir, sci-fi/cyberpunkish itch that I oh so love.
If they did it could be a potential banger and possibly add kind of a more open-world element instead of being confined to a single apartment building and sanctuary. Multiple cases in different districts of Krakow, Poland, possibly even add an in-game cinematic each time you traverse from one location to another in your vehicle just so you can see the lights, people, and just soak in the vibes until you get to your next case going back through claustrophobic alleyways and hotel hallways, abandoned buildings or something. I don't know just a thought.
I really hate bodysnatching scenarios.... because it's one of my greatest fears even though it's really nonsensical as the only reason they could have snatched a body is if the brain was modified by the implants in this case the nanites within the blood stream. Though this makes me think of Ghost Runner where an important figure within the story makes A.I. copies of themselves that want or need a physical body.
unfortunately, thats what gonna happen in the future.. maybe not the body snatch.. but identity thief, like "raising you back from the dead", make your new self based on data from your lifetime.. that why privacy is very important.
I mean they are already bringing people "back from the dead" due to "advanced CGI" for example Clint Eastwood I believe it is, his "rights" to his own image ended last year [I think after celebs die, they can have around 100 years before they become "public property"] so they are planned/making old western movies with him in again because of this... Honestly it's crazy that we don't even hold our own rights to our image anymore
@@Arcon1337 And then Harry did a Story Explained for a Game called "Nobody wants to die" check that one out if you REALLY want to scare yourself with a POSSIBLE future where the rich can SNATCH your body just cause you failed to pay FUCKING TAXES ON YOUR BODY! (And oh yeah, they even open up OPRHANAGES for the sole purpose of having MORE bodies to steal, because the kids are RAISED never knowing about the fact when their 21, they have to pay a tax on their body and if they fail, their mind is taken out of it an put into a test tube! It also makes the one who CREATED the process who made these Orphanages LOOK GOOD to the public at that! Real disturbing stuff)
When you start the game with this incredible intro sequence where Dan narrates the "In the time of your life, live" monologue by William Saroyan and the music and the evocative images and it's just so good and then the single synth note that makes you thing immediately of Blade Runner. Such a shame! As if we needed that. We are already thinking of Blade Runner, because it's cyberpunk. And because it's Rutger Hauer. But Observer really didn't need to remind us of other media. It stands on it's own very well. But on the other hand it's nice to have a cyberpunk game with some actual understanding of economics. It's really important in that genre specifically.
Polish post apo fiction is hard to understand and explain We have great writers and I simply know how complicated the lore can Get sometimes (Like war backstory and other) you did amazing job as always, i love watching you grow and working hard to generate more and more incredible content.
My reading is that everything you see after getting into the Sanctuary pod is a mix of VR and hallucination induced by AI-Adam. So there's not really a quarantine hotel above Sanctuary and Daniel isn't infected. This is strongly suggested because during this whole last part of the game Daniel's vision modes don't work, just like during the dream sequences.
Hurrah more Harry Lore! Sorry to hear about TH-cam flagging your Mortuary Assistant video hope they don't do anything silly to this one. Really enjoy your vids, they're always well-researched and it's obvious how much effort you put into making them. Thanks as always :)
I remember watching someone's walkthrough of this years ago, so when this came up, it was like a flash to the past. I absolutely adore this game, even though it's a bit drawn-out. Thank you Harry!
I'm pretty sure one of the main reasons why an Observer isn't allowed to carry and use firearms is due to an incident that caused one veteran Observer to go on a killing spree at a shopping center which became known as the Royal Plaza Massacre that had caused Chiron and the FPR's National Board of Directors to enact the Disarmament Act for Observers to not be allowed to carry and use guns. I would go into more depth, but it gets weird so I don't want to confuse anyone too much.
I played this game a few weeks back, and I got bored of it after about 2 hours. So I'm glad that you made a video on it to explain what happened in the story

I half thought this game was a fascinating fever dream for the longest time. This brings back memories of watching my favorite streamer play through it, there'd only ever be 1-4 of us in chat but it was a wonderful time. Such a brilliant game, and I love how much environmental storytelling there is all around. We'd theorize during pauses or smokebreaks on so many little things, and I'm surprised to see we weren't even all that far off the mark!
Great Video. Absolutely loved the visuals in this game, both the graphics and the horror/psychedelic imagery. The segments with the warble-y cyborg monster always brought the experience down tho
Love your lore vids you give a very detailed explanations of the games your play, I have a hard time sitting through vids like these cuz I get bored easily but you make it a lot easier and the facts are easy to remember and keeps track of

I've been excited for this ever since you and now it's you'll be doing this video, I'm not a big fan of Bloober Team (I'm not happy they working on a silent Hill) but this game. Rutger Hauer is in my opinion, great in this RIP but I'm big fan cyberpunk genre so this games light up even if it's basically a Blade runner game
This game was such a sleeper for me. Ran out of things to play. Turned this on. After a few attacks of motion sickness and some Gravol, I was back in the game. It keeps you highly invested, even if it's slowly making you want to throw up. There is a point of no return and I ended up missing a bunch of content, so need to brace my stomach/brain and head back in at some point. RIP Rutger Hauer
Great work, I really appreciated this content, thanks for creating it. My only comment would be disclosing your sources of information so we can check where the information came from (outside of the game).
Great video. The lore in this game is pretty rich, but I was pretty disappointed on my playthrough because it's so disjointed and unclear. I pieced most of the narrative and lore together, but it took enough effort trying to decipher it that it took me out of the immersion.
I remember hearing about this game and it looked promising, but seemed to disappear and I never saw it again. Good to finally see what became of this interesting concept.
Anyone notice how AI Adam looks like Medusa with all those wires flying around😳 Chiron was Greek immortal who trained other heroes kinda weird seeing em as a villain here 😅
OH GOD YES! I haven't watched the video yet but this is actually the first horror game I've ever played and it scared the shit outta me, couldn't even finish it! I kept an eye on my laundry machine for quite some time after that.
Loved this game. The pigeons were epic! So many. Flying into shit. Also the the pig hooked up to the VR. lol Additionally, one of the scenes where all the people are moving really fast and blurred, maybe in an office setting, was really well done.
