    I recently purchased some MHW-3Bomber gear for espresso (milk jug, wdt, scales) and have to say the build quality and design are superb. Kettle looks nice too!

    From Amazon’s product page:
    “WHY DID WE MAKE THE MAXIMUM
    HOLDING TEMPERATURE 203°F ?
    We have taken the safety settings into consideration while following the most suitable brewing temperature range for international brewed coffee. In 1500m-altitude areas, water boils at 203°F, but not 212°F. So if you set the insulation temp over 212°F, the water will constantly boiling and splashed boiling water and large amounts of steam may cause burns and becomes a potential satety hazard.”

    In Asia, I think the general specialty coffee crowd brews highest at 95C. Most people brew around 92-93C for most light roasts.

    It's such a shame that the MHW-3BOMBER branding is so stupid, I agree on assassin being a silly name, but the whole military branding is really appalling to me. I wish they rebranded or offered products without their logo anywhere because I'm not going to put stuff on display in my house that looks like it's meant for 12 year olds 🙈

    Feels strange to see basicly the mix of Timemore and Fellow kettles, but at the same time packed in a cheaper set...

    what did you mean that you bre funkier coffee with low temps? Anaerobics? Ethiopian naturals? At what temperature would you bre them? Interestengly enough on their side they write: "Note: Due to altitude problems, some areas can not be heated
    to 100℃ is a normal phenomenon "

    • @coffeenerdaaron
      @coffeenerdaaron  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes by funkier I mean Anaerobics, Co-Ferments, and some Naturals and other coffees that have intense flavors. I typically brew those under 200°F, like 195°-198°F. This helps to tame some of the more intense or even boozy flavors you can get with those coffees. As for what they mean by altitude can affect temp is that in higher altitudes it’s harder to reach boiling point or peak temp at 212°F or 100°C. This is normal for all kettles and even for boiling water in a pot.

      @vizzo7 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@coffeenerdaaron yes but I understood from your review that you could not reach 100 C. And I assume you are not filming from Nepal

    • @coffeenerdaaron
      @coffeenerdaaron  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@vizzo7 I never said I couldn’t reach 100°C, I said if you’re using the temperature hold function the kettle is restricted to 95°C or 203°F. That’s the build design of the kettle not a result of where I’m located. If you don’t use the temp hold feature you can go up to 100°C/212°F.

    I wish they'd reconsider their branding. I like...most...of their gear but the branding is so off. Also, their price point is creeping up to where they're no longer th budget option they used to be.
