- It's a great year for golf drivers in 2023, and this golf drivers comparison breaks down three of the most popular drivers early on in fittings in 2023: the PING G430 Max, the TaylorMade Stealth 2, and the Callaway Paradym. Each of these drivers is designed to deliver fast ball speeds and superb forgiveness.
In this video, 2nd Swing's Drew Mahowald is joined by University of Minnesota golfer Isabella McCauley, who hits each of the PING G430 Max, TaylorMade Stealth 2, and Callaway Paradym drivers and provides her feedback on the look and feel. Additionally, Drew and Isabella break down the data and discuss the performance of each driver.

Ping G430 is the winner here. It had the most consistent spin, best smash factor, and longest carry and overall length, and best dispersion. TM may have sounded better, and had a slightly higher swing speed, but that did NOT translate into faster ball speed or smash factor.
That’s not how fitting works. Club Speed translates into ball speed when hit in the sweet spot. It’s easy to fit the spin out and fit a shaft that get her ballspeed to match her club speed.
@@j10browngmail I can't evaluate on what might have been as this was certainly not a "fitting". With what was presented, Ping won. B-T-W, when I hear someone swayed by the colors of a driver and sound, I roll my eyes.
@@j10browngmail I don't totally agree. I think that sometimes drivers with hotter faces will get better ball speed with slower swing speeds.
@@jerryjohnson9531 All drivers are maxed out. The difference now comes down to MOI location, construction and how consistent the speed is throughout the face.

Isabella is a 'natural' in front of the camera, and a highly skilled golfer who can give relatable feedback. I'd love to see her do some more testing with you.
Ever since I bought my g425 I feel slighted when ppl try not to pick a ping.
Thank you and thank Isabella. The vast majority of golfers, your customers, fall within the 90-100mph range. These comparisons are much more valuable to the majority of golfers than seeing how a driver performs at 110/115/120mph. I am a 95mph swinger here and I ended up with the new Titleist TSR2. Based on my comfort level, looks and sound. I just felt so darn comfortable swinging that driver. I did not like the sound and feel of the PING and disliked the sound of the Taylormade even more. I hit the Taylormade the best, bit it felt and sounded dead to me. But overall, I was more consistent with the Titleist do to my comfort at address with it.
I got the paradym and like Isabella swing in the low 90s. The first thing I did was move the weight into draw setting and bumped the 9 degree upto 10. Instantly I got a nice draw from the club. Have only played 2 rounds so far, but almost every drive was in the middle of the fairway. Coming from the rogue st max LS the size and shape didn't bother me. Before the rogue I was playing the TSi3 and loved it too. I wonder if Isabella ever tried the MCA Vanquish shaft. I'm using the 4 SR and can't believe how good it is. Also picked up some club head speed with the lighter total weight of the club now.
Seems like a super nice youngster. Nice attitude too. I wish her well with her golf career

I think you've found your club test girl! Excellent feedback, smart descriptions, consistent swings and a great personality. Also, she likes the Stealth... same club that's in my bag.

Great video...and MUCH appreciated looking at Isabella compared to you Drew (LMAO). Her swing is comparable to many decent men. Pro swings are not relatable but hers is right in the sweet spot. I think it is more Dead Pool than Spiderman!!

How come did not have TITLEIST TSR?
Rick Shiels Golf has tested all 3 Stealth models for him the Standard model and the Plus model are powerful drivers but moderately forgiving, although he noted a small improvement over the previous model what do you think?

Really would have had you put your fitting hat on and make some adjustments with the driver to dial her in. But, I understand that it was just a driver comparison. Could have been really interesting.

No clear winner between Ping and Callaway… dispersion was better on one, angle of attack not the same… I would like to bring those 2 on course before decide! 5 hits per club is not enough to make a « clear » winner!
Looking at some one else’s swing with the club is what is not enough. She could take it to the course and swing it 1000 times. It still isn’t your swing with the club.
Lower AOA, higher launch with the ping. Interesting… higher AOA same launch with the callaway.
TM had same AOA as Callaway, better launch angle, lower avg spin, and better feel.
But you think ping and callaway are the front runners. Very interesting.

It's rediculous how much Ping has improved ballspeeds, like it's now faster then SuperAI 60X Carbon faces 🫣 And on top the most forgiving on the market!
