I am Italian, a great rugby fan, I am 62 years old and I am really moved by the beautiful memories - which are also mine, I remember perfectly the first World Cup - of these two rugby legends. "Old bugger", Sir John’s self-irony is wonderful and extremely healthy.
I remember taking my twins into their butcher shop in Onehunga and he always gave them a cheerio sausage. This is when rugby was it's best, prior to turning professional. Brilliant team at this time.
Doesn't matter what the team is their all men who can tackle. JK was scoring trys like this before the World cup including a 70m try against Queensland, Waikato.......
As italian i have to admit that rugby is definitely not our "national" sport wich is(was?!) football. Anyway i'm really enjoying the world cup these days. I'm just disappointed for Ireland who lost a big occasion to reach the final. France South Africa was also an incredible match!!
John Gallagher and Kirwan. Man those two were amazing to watch. Every kid in primary school would emulate them during school breaks back the day. ❤

Before the italian try, no one had seen a try like that before. Kirwan paved the way for All Blacks backs to score these long distance tries
John Gallagher was a great FB, such a graceful runner with ball in hand

Love it, would like to hear more stories from the 80s when players were innovative with their training methods. Probably their diets too.
Most of the team was on a strict diet of beer and cigarettes...

I'm not crying, it's the allergies, mate.
That Try is Art Poetry in Motion.
That try..kirwan set the bar ..he was every boys idol to emulate
Amazing set of circumstance NÉVER to be forgotten…❗️👊🔥
Two great legends from the 1987 All blacks.
How did they survive, no 20 min water break, no hia, no tmo etc etc 🤔 😂😂
John Kirwan John Galleher and Terry Wright were awesome back in those days
Legends 🙌
Nice Brick Top goggles.
2024 Italy for the surprise!
John, this try was against Italy who in '87 was even worse than today.

Too bad The Springboks didn’t play 87 & 91. NZ and Aus would’ve had a very difficult time beating the Boks back then!

kirwan was a try scoring machine
Italian are still like trees😅
