- Two-time Rugby World Cup Champion Cheslin Kolbe sits down to talk about the Springboks' historic victory at Rugby World Cup 2023 in France.
The winger speaks about his charge down of Thomas Ramos's conversion that ultimately proved to be the difference in the quarter-final, their narrow win over England in the semi-final and how hard he found it watching the final ten minutes against New Zealand after he had been yellow carded.
Kolbe is also joined by his captain, Siya Kolisi, as they discuss that game against the All Blacks, and the celebrations once they returned home to South Africa!

You need to interview Handre Pollard as well. Quite a few of us South Africans knew our chances of winning went up exponentially once he came back into the fold. Im just wondering if he knew about this pressure and how he dealt with it.

Lots of people said we don't need him back. I think he proved to the world what a difference he makes.
I still think that if we didn’t have Polly we would still have pulled something out of the bag. I don’t believe the results would have been different, I just think the coaches would have found another way to win. But having Mr pretty boy ice veins is always an advantage over the opponents
From what I have learnt, playing Rugby isn't pressure, pressure is not having a job or having a family member be killed.

Huge respect to a guy who gets yellow-carded at 72, knowing that’s the end to his World Cup final and still can sit there afterwards and go “yeah, that should be a yellow card”. That’s massive

Pollard is gifted and was on fire 🔥 during the tournament, but without this team Pollard was not gonna be able to kick those penalties so spring Boks went to war together and they won together hence they are champions ❤❤❤❤
The team play as a unit. The forwards break down the pack and force penalties and mistakes. Pollard seals it with sniper-like precision. No doubt - without his conversion and penalty taking we would have lost all three knockout games, but the reason why we won is because the team is a unit and an absolute weapon of a team at that.
