I have had no end of frustration with sheening inks that only sheen on certain papers. I'm up to Volume 6 of my journals, and the paper used by Ricco Bello is very nice, but just porous enough that the sheen is absorbed rather than drying on the surface. Iroful paper works wonderfully, but a LINED Iroful pad or book is hard to find. I would love an A4 lined journal from Iroful, but they seem to not like lines, and prefer either blank or dotted. I can't write straight on dotted paper, no matter how hard I try! I've got a box of Huhuhero journal books that are great for plain fountain pen ink. The only ink that it can't deal with is Baystate Blue, of course. But it's lousy for sheening inks for the same reason -- too porous and absorbent. But I took a chance and bought a box of 10 A4 journal books from Paperage. Lo! The paper in THESE journals will sheen most enthusiastically! I have a pen inked up with Diamine Polar Glow, a lovely blue with red sheen. Sort of like a less expensive version of OS Nitrogen, and more expensive version of Birmingham Ultramarine. All three of those are similar blues with similar red sheening. All of Birmingham Ink Company's inks are worth a look, and they're very affordable. A 30ml bottle is about $14, while the larger 50ml bottles go for $19. They also do bundles -- buy 3 bottles, get 2 bottles free. They have a single fountain pen on offer, but it's not one I would buy. It's a very simple aluminum pen, and being aluminum, there's stuff you can't expose it to without the metal turning to goo over time. Some inks fall into that category. So it strikes me as an odd choice. I'd love to see someone do a pen in phosphor-bronze. It's an amazingly pretty metal.
Haven’t seen any ASMR type videos from JetPens in a while, so this was definitely an interesting surprise! Very pretty ink, I quite like the Kakimori nib…
wow, this is such a beautiful video! i'd love to see more videos like this from jetpens - maybe a dip nib comparison video? this brass nib can hold a really surprising amount of ink
There's a learning curve with the brass nib. The lines are only consistent if your angle is consistent. I do enjoy it. I got mine during a sale from Atlas Stationers. You can also save money by getting the Tachikawa nib holder instead of the Kakimori one.
I went through so much to get one when it came out and was devastated when I couldn't use it as easily as I thought I could😢 However, I honestly haven't put enough time in to it... yet. Any tips? Best inks to use? Paper?
@@Mr.Randy210I honestly felt the same way at first. People make it look so easy. I haven't found any particular paper better than others and I've used most of the popular ones. I have tried mine with a wide variety of inks from different brands and I don't have any real preference there either. It's really just a matter of getting used to it. Practice writing with it. I do like it and don't regret buying it.
I think this video singlehandedly made me want a Kakimori pen nib even tho i previously had no interest in it. I know getting a dip pen won't magically give me beautiful calligraphic skills but jeez, it's so tempting... I haven’t seen other calligraphy videos using the kakimori nib like this and it's so satisfying.
The previous morning was utterly awful looking! To make things worse, my sister started having contractions before she have, and we couldn't come help her!
I like how the ink looks more purple or blue depending on the paper used. Also with the paper use used to write "The Little Prince" the way the paper absorbed the ink made it so the lettering looks like it has an outline, which is a nice look. I think I like the Alice's Adventures in Wonderland one the best.
Other than loving the pens and enjoying the ASMR, am I the only person thinking, "now who gets the tablets that can't be sold because they've each had one page written on?"😂
Hi, could make video on how to transition from cursive to print handwriting (for school purposes so it has to be practical and fast writing ( I think like connected print or something)) (Also I'm left handed ( idk if that's important or not)
I’ve had this pen for some time but don’t use it because it doesn’t write well at all. I’ve seen others use it fine but I can’t figure it out. One of those regretful pricey purchases.
@@chattychatmandoo I was meh about it when I first tried it. I quickly started regretting my purchase. 😩 I started to use it more. I wrote with it and tried it with different inks. It took time to get used to it, but now I love it and use it a lot. Experiment with holding it at different angles and with how much ink you need to get on the nib to write. I hope this helps.
Beautiful filming, but fyi *not* ASMR - ASMR has no music because it interferes with the sensory response. Would've been very good ASMR otherwise though!
Let us know if you want to see more ASMR writing videos by giving the video a like!
Do iiiiiiiiiiiit
More. Please. This is the best thing ever!! ❤❤❤❤
different pens and inks????
Most definitely more ! Very relaxing and getting me in the mood to play with my inks today!
Yes pleaze!
what a fantastic example of how one ink can look different depending on the paper! well done

Love this, I would like to see more of this hand lettering or doodling to compare inks, paper or nibs.

Indeed!

I want to watch a video like this every night before bed 🥹 thanks Jet Pens- love it so much.
Wow! The combo of Life bank paper & Kakimori nib really bring out the beauty of Butterfly Nebula!
I have this pen but had no idea how to use it. Thank you for posting this video so I could see the possibilities!

Thanks for the moment of quiet while we worry about Hurricane Helene!
I'm also watching this amidst the storm! From Bradenton, FL, so it's just windy and we have no power
The previous morning was utterly awful looking! To make things worse, my sister started having contractions before she have, and we couldn't come help her!
I like how you did this video. Very relaxing, yet informative!
Makes me double glad I got this nib and holder earlier this year! I really love it!
I love how it writes like a reg ink pen! Bday present for me! 🤭

I been putting this on and off my wl for the last year...this might be my sign to get it!
Lovely handwriting! Thank you for sharing your talent.
That inks looks so beautiful!!
Just wow! This makes me miss writing in calligraphy 😊
I was on the fence, but now I've gotta get it
Soothing.
Perfect example on how paper can affect the properties of an ink.
woaw so pretty i almost wanna eat it
That ink looks beautiful, thank you for posting.
Beautiful writing and beautiful ink 😊
The ink is beautiful. I just recently purchased Mystic Mountain and Celadon Cat. I love all the videos you post.
I need one of these pens now 😭

Don't worry, we don't waste! :)
@@JetPens oh, I know you don't waste. It's a lucky job perk to be the person that gets to use them! 😁
Very nicely done. I have the nib on my wish list, but the expense keeps telling me it's something want, not something I need. Thanks.
Looks beautiful but how long does the ink take to dry ... especially the ' pools'.

omg im early for once, yayyy asmr video
Will TWSBI ECO Caffè Bronze be back in stock?
Yes, they're on backorder right now, but we're hoping to restock soon!
❤🎉

Name of song?

I wish there was less music or no music in the background, and just full writing sounds
