I worked as a white van speaker scammer for about 2 weeks back in 2000.
I was 21 and found the job advertised in the local news paper.
I thought I was going to be working for a legit audio reseller.
I know all about this stuff. Those guys are shameless.

Got scammed today for $100... and a six pack of Yuengling as well. Didn't really need the MacPro Smart Soundbar, but thought I was helping someone out. So I hit the ATM at the gas station. I should've known better but he got me during a momentary lapse of good sense.

I saw the same box with a different name at a pawnshop. They were asking $350. I laughed all the way to the counter and asked them to look up white van speaker scams. They kept insisting they were legit and told me if i wasnt buying them not to worry about it. That pawnshop was sold to a young uninformed owner .....lmbo

This scam works on the uninformed. I'm a vintage audio collector and have been approach 3 times and on all 3 I've humored the individuals then question them on their knowledge on electronics and the audio industry. And the response was nothing but blank stairs and giggles. This and the fact that they were selling unknown brands for high end cost was very obvious to me but probably not to many. In all cases they drove away frustrated at my 1.00 dollar offer and angry because they were all challenged.

I worked for Monster Cable for 6 years and had moved and was looking for a home theater install job as I learned a lot from monster and I replied to a Craigslist add for a home theater install job and when I went to the “interview” they drove me around all day, watched the head dude make $1000 in one day!! Being involved in the audio/video industry, it was obvious to me that these systems aren’t even worth $15. Needless to say I told em I wasn’t interested because I didn’t like ripping people off. These dudes have all their licensing and permits for every state they operate out of. Dude showed me his book of permits lol. At one point he stopped the car on way to Wyoming and got OUT to make a private call but i could hear him and he was ordering more of these junk systems but he was talking to someone he was obviously friends with. It’s funny that this is still going on. I sold speakers/home theaters from 1997-2012. I started off working for a company which I got to travel the world and do this in my late teens and twenties. I lived everywhere you could think of from Tokyo,Hong Kong,Singapore,Amsterdam,Norway,Sweden,London,Montreal,Capetown South Africa,Germany,France, Italy and so many states in the US. After about 5 years of traveling I quit working for the company and did it on my own. I made so much money doing it. I was making thousands a week ALL CASH. My best day I made $5,700 in about 3-4 hours. It was fun and a great stepping stone. When smartphones came out and people had access to information at their fingertips it was time for me to retire from this gig. The guys they showed here sucked. They were horrible salespeople. When I worked solo I had either my Range Rover,Porsche Cayenne,Escalade that I sold out of. I didn’t use the “I’m a installer pitch “. I would have a collared polo shirt on and I told people that I was the owner and I had business cards and a invoice with the actual bullshit prices on it. I didn’t have the cars I mentioned all at the same time. I would have a SUV to work out of but I also had a sedan like a C or E class Benz,I had a Cadillac STS ,Acura TL,Lexus ISF at different times to drive after work and on weekends because I would put a lot of miles on the suv selling equipment. I made a ton of money and it was fun for a while. It’s definitely not a career but to made some big money quickly it was perfect for that. But I can’t believe that they are still doing this. STFO!!!

This solo white guy got me at Wawa in East Florida . Flax 7.1 surround $2,300 msrp , showed me online on eBay a couple . The REAL website which looks legit but really provides no information. I got it for $300 and my thought was it had a chip in it to back your phone or keylog but after opening the box and finding one hdmi wire no remote (not sure even comes with) but all 5 speakers where in the unopened box we opened together and the subwoofer and owners manual but never thought the quality . Litterly the subwoofer does have an inlet for power but has the cheap power and ground speaker wiring port. I was so confused opening it just put it together that’s when I went to flax website and saw the price of msrp was same as on the box I have so you think your good but no instructions and the manual requires an amplifier which ofc isn’t included . Someone even commented you can buy this at the scammers price and get a decent amp and any single sound bar sounds better then this crap that’s filled with bricks. Beware 2024 still going on

This appears to be a mashup or a compilation of other people's videos being passed off as your research. It seems you've got to the bottom of nothing. We've all seen these videos. Your next video should be " people are falling off of their skateboards" and we found an address to a skateboard warehouse. So tune in. 🤓🎤

Actually, for the money, it's not that bad a deal. It's the probing inside the van that gets you. It takes a half hour! I'm sorry, but my time is money as well.

I enjoy hearing them with their BS selling, been a while since a white van experience.
