      Haha. Thanks. I like it. So far not gotten in trouble with it too. Simple 2-bolt universal bracket mounted high up on the skid plate. When you take the factory bracket off, plug the holes with some matte black push pins/Christmas tree clips from autozone and it blends the two holes in pretty good.

      @@badm0t0rf1ng3r My state requires a front plate. Haven't had to get an inspection yet but I may have to use a bracket like you said to mount to the side. So far hasn't caused me any trouble :)

    • @JumpSquadAuto

      @@ju190 Yep. I drilled two holes and then you can slide your finger behind the skid plate to tighten a nut and pass through bolt and get an angle wrench to tighten down.

    am I wrong??,,,, I thought with the turbo motors,, they regulated air and fuel, no need to tune

    • @JumpSquadAuto
      @JumpSquadAuto  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct. They don't need a tune and the intake is fine as is but to maximize gains, the ecm should be tuned to account for the added air flow as well as tune on the raptor is known to add nearly 60rwhp or more. It just voids the warranty which I am too scared to do :)

    • @JumpSquadAuto
      @JumpSquadAuto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey. Its been 2 years since I sold the Raptor but I also had a CEL come on with the intake once or twice in cold weather. There was an air sensor on the tube that wasn't sitting properly throwing the code so making sure it was seated would remove the CEL.

  • @WhatPlantisthatPaul
    @WhatPlantisthatPaul 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for this video. My wife wants me to trade in my 2015 STI for something to tow a trailer. This may be the only option... No desire for a diesel... If not a Raptor, what other truck can I get with a gas turbo?

    • @JumpSquadAuto
      @JumpSquadAuto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is probably one of the better options. I dont believe Ram has a turbo V6. GM has the 2.7L but thats not a very fun or powerful engine. If you plan on off roading then I would go Raptor. But if you want a more fun street truck, the 2019 and up F-150 limited has the Raptor Engine on smaller tires making it a much faster street truck.

    Does it sound better after installing this k&n cold air intake?
    Thanks

    • @JumpSquadAuto
      @JumpSquadAuto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It sounds a lot better at lower speeds with the intake. There is a better whistle and suction noise. At higher speeds, the exhaust washes that sound out tho.

      Jump Squad - Auto I’ve got the 2014 tundra 1794 with flowmaster exhaust system with super 10 and now looking for cold air intake for a little better sound. Any suggestions for it?
      Thanks

    • @JumpSquadAuto
      @JumpSquadAuto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@june1909 Sounds like a great exhaust set up. I had super 10s on my last V8 SUV and sounded so sick. I think you would be better off with a Volant or AFE Stage-2 intakes in my personal opinion. Both are a more sealed box design. The AFE stage 2 has the exposed filter with a clear glass cover so looks really cool. On a v8 it will make the engine sound meaner. Tho you may not hear a ton of sound with such a cool exhaust set up already :)

    • @JumpSquadAuto
      @JumpSquadAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey. I did once when I went up to Maine in the winter. Also a week or two after installing the intake. It was if the sensor on the back of the intake tube is loose and it was really cold outside for me. I had tried a couple different things from forums but making sure the sensor was plugged in all the way and facing the same direction inside the tube as oem made it go away for me. Hope that helps.
